Well That's Interesting, chapter 5

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
"Hi Hailey." I say optimistically as I let her into my apartment.
"So how did it go telling... Umm... Tre?" I nod.
"He took it well, surprisingly well."
"So from one night stand bastard to man of the year?"
"No, he's cleaning lady threw my phone number in the garbage so he thought I pulled a one night stand."

"Hey what's with this, why are you researching Green Day, shouldn't you be researching pregnancy." She says as she looks over my computer screen, "No worries, did you know you can have sex until your third trimester."
"Hailey."
"And you only start to lose your figure in the middle of your second trimester but even then..."
"Hailey, the father of the baby is Tre Cool, drummer of Green Day!" I interrupt.
"What?!"
"Tre is Tre Cool." I mumble as I point back to the computer.
"Liar."
"No, I saw his music studio with his awards and stuff."

"Well that explains why he took it so well, he already has two kids." She mumbles as she looks over his web biography. "As your older sister I strongly suggest you marry him without delay."
"Hailey!"
"I'm just kidding; anyway you should go for a doctor's appointment soon."
"I've already made an appointment for next week some time." I say shrugging.

*Tre's P.O.V. *
I walk up to the front door of Mike's house and ring the door bell and wait impatiently.
"Hey Tre, what time it is?" he asks stretching out his arms.
"SHE'S PREGNANT!" I burst out.
"Wha? Who's pregnant?"
"Angie!"
"The one night stand?"
"Yeah but it turns out she left her number but Kelly threw it in the garbage." I say quickly as Mike lets me in.

We sit in the living room quietly for a few moments.
"So is she on you to pay child support or something."
"No." I say shaking my head, "Complete opposite, she said I didn't even have to talk to her again if that's what I wanted."
"Tre!"
"Don't worry, I didn't agree to that. I asked her out to dinner and we talked it over."
"And?"
"And I'm going to be a part of the child's life; I'm actually asking her out again."
"Do you actually like her or are you just feeling guilty?" Mike asks yawning.
"I like her, I know because before she told me she was pregnant, when I saw her face it just made me all.... I don't know.... She made me feel happier than I've felt in a long time."
"You sure about that?"
"From the moment she started talking to me, I knew she was something else."
"She's an alien, a mermaid?" Mike asks comically.
"No!" I yelp rolling my eyes, "I'm serious."
"I know, but you woke me up early so I have the right to make fun of you." Mike says as he lies down on the couch as I pace back and forth, "Why don't you wake Billie up this early in the morning?"
"You live closer."
"I'm moving this afternoon." He mumbles into the couch cushion.
"No you're not."
"Well I will if you wake me up this early again."

*Angie's P.O.V. *
"So what's going to happen to the café when the baby comes?" Hailey asks as we sit in my living room drinking coffee.
"I don't know, I guess I can still manage paper work and stuff from home and I don't know I have to talk to Marcy."
"Who's Marcy again?"
"The co-owner." I mumble.
"Oh right, her. I somehow doubt she'll sympathetic." Hailey says casually, "She'll probably sell you back your share."
"Probably, but that won't last me long." I say as I put my head in my hands.
"Well worst comes to worst you can come live with us."
"I don't want to impose; you have your own family."
"Chris won't mind much, and Melanie loves you." Hailey insists.
"Melanie is three she loves anyone who gives her a present at Christmas."

"Uhh Angie, I think your cell is ringing." Hailey says pointing to my purse.
"Oh." I say as I pick my cell phone out of my bag. "Hello."
"Hi Angie, its Tre."
"Hey."
"I was wondering if you'd like to come out to dinner with me again tonight."
"Sure, that'll be great." Something about his voice makes me feel so much better, like the weight is lifted from my shoulders.
"I'll come pick you up at seven."
"Yeah." I say as Hailey smirks to me from across the coffee table. I tell Tre where I live and hang up my phone.

"You're crazy for him."
"What?"
"I heard you talking to him; I haven't heard you talk on the phone like that since that Tommy guy asked you out." Hailey says smirking evilly.
"Oh yeah, I wonder what ever happened to him." I say thinking back to my first boyfriend. "Tre's the father; I at least want us to be friends."
"You want more than that and you know it."
"Oh jeez what's with you?" I mumble.

***

At seven o'clock sharp a knocking is heard from the apartment door. I slip on my shoes and open the door.
"Hey, are you ready to go?" Tre asks smiling.
"Yeah." I say pulling on my jean jacket.
"So this is where you live?" he asks peering awkwardly around.
"Yeah, home sweet home I guess." I say shrugging, "Is something wrong?"
"Uh no." he says as he links his arm into mine and leads me out to the car.

After a more than enjoyable dinner we sit at the table in the cozy restaurant. I loved that Tre wasn't conceded about his career and success, he was so easy to talk to and he made me laugh at least a million times. I look over at him as he fiddles with the spoon on his saucer under his coffee cup. He let's go of the spoon and takes my hand.
"Angie, I know this is a little forward but."
"Yes..." I say as the pause lasts longer than a few moments.
"I want you to move in with me."
"What?!" I say in disbelief, "I just met you; I know it's kind of stupid, because I'm having your baby but...."
"No, that's not what I mean." He says shaking his head, "You'd have your own room and stuff."
"Then why do you want me to move in with you?"
"Well, you don't exactly live in the safest of neighborhoods and I don't want to be worrying 24/7." He says cautiously, "And that house is too big for only one person."
"I don't know."
"Just try it out, for like a week." He suggests.
"I guess that would be okay."
