"What An Asshole You Are Billie"-sequal to "you may not see me but im always with you Adrienne", chapter 11
We're suddenly broken apart by a door slamming.
"Adie! Adie! I'm so sorry, I will never do that again. I didn't mean to kiss you Adie" Tre shouts, running into the room. "Oh shit" he mumbles as soon as he sees Billie.
"You what?" Billie asks, glaring at me.
"It's nothing Billie" I plead. I can't let him go now. Why was Tre always so bad at timing?
"You kissed her?" He asks Tre, ignoring me.
"I... I... "
"You know what, forget it. I never thought you would sink so low as pay back Adie" Billie says, disappointed.
"No, please Billie!" I say, getting up and rushing over to him.
"Get off me" he says gruffly, shaking me off him. I stand there and watch him walk out the door, slamming it behind him. It's as if he wants so slam me right out of his life.
"Adrienne, I'm so sorry" Tre whimpers, coming over to me. I look at him and realise how innocent he looks and how much he cares.
"It's ok Tre, it really isn't your fault" I assure him.
"But it is, I should have knocked"
"No, it's fine. At least he knows, he may have got the wrong end of the stick, but at least he isn't shadowed from the truth. Unlike I was" I reply, giving him a hug.
"Thanks Adie"
"It's ok" I rub his back, clinging onto him. I look into his eyes and for once I don't see a little boy. I see a grown, caring man who just wants to do right.
He bends his head softly and this time, I don't reject. His soft lips meet mine and he kisses me lightly. After a while he deepens the kiss, opening my mouth with his tongue. I run my hands through his hair and press my body up against his.
*1 Month later*
"Mum! Joey is hitting me with Tre's drumstick!" Jakob suddenly whines, running over to me. I roll my eyes and stare over at Tre.
"What did I tell you about leaving your drumsticks around?" I ask him.
"Sorry" He mumbles, looking back at the morning paper sheepishly.
"Joey, quit hitting your brother" I moan at Joey.
"But he kept bugging me!" he insists.
"It's still no reason to hit your brother" I say sternly.
"Fine" he shouts, stomping up the stairs and slamming the door to his room.
"And don't slam the doors!" I shout up the stairs to him. On cue, he deliberately opens the door again and slams it even harder. I just sigh and turn back to Jakob.
"Where did he hit you?" I ask him softly. He points to his head, his eyes brimming with tears. I kiss his head better, then his nose and either cheeks. He ends up squeeling and worming away from me. "Better?" I ask, smiling.
"Yep" he says, wiping his cheeks with his sleeve. He then skips out to the garden and starts kicking a ball around happily.
*Recap of the last month*
When Joey and Jakob came home from camp, it hurt me to tell them that their father had moved out and what had happened. But Tre kept his promise and stayed with me when I told them. Jakob burst into tears, whining that he was never going to see his dad again but I had to re assure him he would still get to see Billie. I don't know whether he believed me or not, but his crying subdued to small whimpers. Joey kept quiet for a couple of days, asking awkward questions.
But overall, they took the news pretty well and both of them had seen Billie every week end.
Tre had been staying at my house a few nights and spent most days coming round to either jam some music or spend some time with me and the boys. Both Joey and Jakob had grown more to Tre, making him look more of a father figure.
Billie still hadn't come round to his senses. I tried patching it up but he wouldn't let me explain. It hurt me to think that things were never going to go back to normal by the looks of things, but as usual I kept a brave face on.

"Adie, are you ok? You look a bit green" Tre said, looking at me, folding his paper up and putting it on the table.
"Yeah I'm fine" I lie, rubbing my stomach.
"Hm, ok, you always were a crap liar" he says.
"Thanks Tre" I say, giggling feebly. I suddenly feel a lurch in my stomach, causing my head to spin. I just make it to the toilet in time.
"Adie, we need to take you to the doctors, you've been throwing up a lot this week" Tre says, dabbing at my face with a damp towel.
"No, I'm fine"
"You obviously aren't, I'll take you up the doctors tomorrow morning" He demands. I just sigh and rest my head on his shoulder.
