"What An Asshole You Are Billie"-sequal to "you may not see me but im always with you Adrienne", chapter 7
*Out of Adrienne's P.O.V*
Tre held Adrienne close for a while, to make sure she had calmed down.
"Lets go and get you a blanket or something Adie, you're shivering like mad" Tre says to her, taking her hand and leading her upstairs.
Adrienne doesn't seem to find her voice to speak. You could see her mind going 'tick tick tick' as she tries to put the pieces together.
Tre opened up the airing cupboard and found a large cream, fluffy blanket. He took it out and wrapped it round Adrienne's shoulders. Immediately she snuggled into the fabric, gripping it tightly with her shaky hands.
"There better?" Tre asks softly, pushing Adrienne's now matted hair from her face. She nods softly, slowly making her way back down stairs and sitting down on the sofa.
"I see he's still passed out" Tre says, sitting down next to her and gesturing over towards a passed out Mike.
"Hold me Tre" Adrienne squeaks quietly. Tre looks bewildered, but takes her hand and pulls her closer, putting his arms round her. She buries her head into his shoulder, sobbing noises escaping from her mouth now and then.
*Adrienne's P.O.V*
I snuggle into Tre, trying to bury right into him to get away from this mess. I can feel my brain swell up as questions buzz around my mind.
"I'm so sorry you had to find out from me" Tre says softly. I suddenly jerk my head up, realising it was Tre that I had heard it from. Why hadn't he told me?
"Tre, why didn't you tell me about this, I thought we were friends?" I ask, staring at him.
"I did, I really did, remember when I tried to tell you something earlier but Billie walked in? That's what I was trying to say, I couldn't bear to see you get hurt, I'm so sorry Adie" Tre replies, looking down guiltily.
"It's ok, I suppose you tried and at least I know now, nothing you can do can top what Billie has done to make me feel right now" I reply, lifting his chin up so he meets my eyes. A small smile spreads across his face as our eyes connect.
"Fuck, what happened... where am I?" Mike suddenly says, waking up. I turn round to face him.
"Tre, you passed out dude, all that fucking beer you downed" Tre replies, raising an eyebrow at him. Mike squints his eyes and rubs his head.
"Where's Billie?" He suddenly asks, looking around him. I feel tears spring back to my eyes at the mention of his name. I look up at Tre who gives a nervous glance back.
"Oh erm, he's... he's erm... " Tre tries, not finding the right words to say.
"He's gone Mike" I say quickly.
"Gone? You mean up the shop?" Mike asks dumbly. Sometimes he can be worse than Tre.
"No, I mean he's left, I found out Mike" I reply, looking at him with saddened eyes.
"Oh" Mike says rather quickly, trying to hide the fact that he knew all along.
"It's ok Mike" I say, but failing to reassure him as tears come rolling down my cheeks once again.
I feel Tre's touch bring me closer. "Nooo It's not ok!" I wail, leaning against Tre.
"Look, Adie you're going to get through this, you're a strong woman and you will always have me by your side" Tre says comfortingly.
"And me!" Mike adds.
"Yes, and Mike" Tre agrees. I smile at the both of them and gesture for Mike to come and sit by us. I put my arms round the both of them hold them close.
"You're the best friends anyone can wish for!" I say, not only sad, angry tears flowing from my eyes, but also happy tears. Happy that I have Tre and Mike to lean on.
