A Vampire's Chaos, chapter 2
So, they all got to Candy's house and found the rest of their friends waiting for them outside.
"Hey Chris!" Candy said, obviously happy to see him, though he didn't seem to notice.
"Hi, Candy. Hey Pace, hey Eternity," Chris said.
"Hey, CHRISTOPHER!" they both replied in unison. They were always trying to make him mad that they called him by his real name. He just laughed it off, though, you could tell he tensed up because he doesn't like his real name.
"So....Hi Xavier, hey Justin," Eternity quietly said. Justin kept quiet.
"Hey, what's up, Ette?" Xavier asked Eternity.
"Not much. Hey....Um....Justin, are you okay?" Eternity asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine," he finally spoke, in his leave-me-alone tone.
Eternity got surprised by his attitude, since he usually told her everything. Maybe it was because of last night....
* FLASHBACK *
Last night Eternity and Justin were hanging out in Justin's room, sitting on his bed. Eternity was staring into his beautiful golden-green eyes and at his straightened, curly, dyed-black hair before breaking the silence.
"So...." she pondered of what to say.
"What are you?" Justin asked, in a normal voice.
"What do you mean?" she had asked, sharply.
"Well, I don't know how to explain this, but....You're just....Different....Than the, um, the rest of us,"Justin stuttered.
Eternity gave him a questioning look. "Is that bad?" she had asked.
"No, it's great...." he softly spoke to her, smiling.
"We're only friends, right?" Eternity asked, wondering what she wanted them to be.
"I was thinking we could be more than that," Justin replied, looking away from her. He was still smiling.
Eternity returned his smile. Showing her smile, for only the second time since Justin had known her. They'd been best friends since 4th grade, when Candy developed a crush on him and introduced them. Eternity had smiled that time they had met, since she thought he was cute. Now Eternity was in 8th grade and Justin in 10th. She never smiled since.
"So, you think I'm weird?" Eternity had asked him, blushing so much that her pale-white skin seemed to glow.
"Yeah, but I like you anyway," Justin told her, staring at her lying there on his bed. He seemed lost in thought, very shy.
"What is different about me?" Eternity wondered aloud.
Justin chuckled. "You're just....How can I explain this....You're way too quiet to be a normal, shy goth gir-" Justin didn't even get to finish.
"I prefer not to be labeled," Eternity had cut-in.
"Okay....Well, you're abnormally shy, and you have really pale freezing-cold skin to-" again Justin had to stop.
"That's weird?" Eternity had cut-in, again.
"You're ice, Ette!" he laughed.
The room got silent again. Eternity laid back on Justin's bed. She starred up at his ceiling for a few moments. Then, she saw him block her view of the painted ceiling, and lean down toward her. He looked at her, his eyes asking her if it was okay for him to do something that may seem crazy. She smiled, not showing her teeth. He leaned further into her, and kissed her. A few moments later they sat up. It became an awkward silence. Since then, it stayed silent between them.
* PRESENT *
Justin looked down at the ground. Candy noticed tension between Justin and Eternity, so she walked over and stood between them. Then, she started talking non-stop. Leave it up to Candy to hate weird silences, and have nothing to say, yet talk a million-miles-an-hour!
