A Vampire's Chaos, chapter 4
* THE NEXT DAY *
Walking on the broken-wooded steps, Patience made her way through the woods; her private escape from reality. Walking through the shadows, she started to get nervous. She picked up her pace, since she had begun to shake. Trembling, shaking, falling, tripping - She began to run. Running from the chaos, running from the shame. Running for her life from something that she couldn't see.
She came to the opening of the woods - A beautiful clearing. She walked into the park, and her heartbeat slowly calmed. She walked to a bench, where only one person was sitting there. She sat down next to him, and glanced at him. He looked up and saw her. Patience shrieked with laughter.
"Oh my gosh! Xavier! I didn't even notice it was you!" she shouted excitedly. Patience felt the eery presence of the woods leave her.
"Hey, what's up, Pace?" Xavier quietly asked, smiling.
"Not too much. I was just walking - Well actually running - through the woods," she replied, glancing down at her bruised, and swelling ankle.
"Wow, are you okay?" Xavier asked, concerned.
"Yeah, I'm fine. It just hurts - A lot," Patience with tears from pain forming in her eyes.
"There was....Ow....Something - Or someone - in there. In the woods. Ow! My leg! Ugh....Um...." Patience stuttered, shivering in pain.
"Someone was in the woods with me. I know it. I know someone was there. Ow....There was....There was something there. I felt their presence, but I couldn't see anything. I really didn't feel safe, that's why I started running....All I know is that it scared me," her voice trailed off as she started to cry from the burning sensation she was feeling from her ankle.
Just then, they saw Eternity walking toward them with a fake smile - Seeming like she knew what was going on. Patience and Xavier both tensed up, getting a little nervous. They knew something was weird about Eternity, they just didn't want to be mean. Once Eternity saw their agitated faces, she relaxed and tried to look normal.
"Hey, you two!" Eternity said, trying to seem happy, as she walked toward them.
"Oh my gosh, Pace! You should go to the hospital or something! Your ankle looks like it's gonna fall off or something!" Eternity gasped. Xavier couldn't help but chuckled at the thought of Patience's ankle 'falling off'.
"It's not funny, Xavier!" Patience yelled at him, while trying to hold back her tears.
"Okay, okay. Sorry...." Xavier replied, quietly, trying not to laugh.

Eternity and Xavier both helped Patience up from the bench and balanced her out when she almost fell. They walked her to her house, with both her arms around their shoulders, so they were practically carrying her. She loved the attention, though. Walking through Patience's door, Xavier carried her up the stairs since she couldn't hop up the steps. She could've fell and hurt herself even more, she had complained. So, carrying Pace up her steps, into her house, Xavier felt his way into the living room, since he couldn't see his feet holding her.
As he was laying her down on the couch, Patience's mother walked through the door.
"Oh, I didn't know we had company," her mom said, a little annoyed, though trying to cover it.
"I think she should go to the hospital," Xavier finally said after an awkward silence. Looking at her daughter's ankle, where Xavier had pointed to, Patience's mom gasped. Wide-eyed, she helped Pace get outside and into the car.
