Dawn To Dusk, chapter 4

The door to the roof burst open in a hurry. The men's guns pointed and aimed at the outside of the doorway, all men crammed inside, one against the other. One man slowly creeped out and onto the roof floor where the two people, or figures, he'd seen had disappeared. He crept along the side of the ledge, not too close so he didn't plummet over and fall to his death. He looked down and saw nothing. The other few men were still in the doorway, jammed.
"Is it clear?"one of them asked. The other man was silent and did not answer. He walked over and saw the body of the man with the gun that had nearly killed Jara, covered in wounds and bruises. Jara had worked him over and beaten him pretty badly. She wasn't all that sweet from time to time. That's what Gerard liked about her, Jara didn't take crap from anybody, not even him. It kept him always guessing and on the edge of his seat, which he liked. The man turned to yell back to the men to come and check it out before, right in front of his face, was Gerard. Gerard took the gun was the shocked man who was scared so much, he couldn't cry or scream for help from the others.
"Ahh, tisk, tisk. I see your weakness. You see,"Gerard began to talk, as he pushed the silent man to the ground where he had him sit. Gerard put his foot up against the wall surrounding the ledge with his knee bent. He was shaking the gun back and forth like it was a toy."you have heart problems. The littlest,"Gerard said squinching his fingers together with the gun still in his grip."things that scare you, make you go into static shock, and, as you can see, go silent,"Gerard said moving the gun to and fro in midair."You want to know how I know all this right?"he bent down to where the man sit with his mouth open and scooched down with his knees bent. He whispered into the man's right ear,"Because I'm a"he whispered into the man's left ear,"vampire. I know what you've done."The man gasped. In a flash,Gerard had disappeared and returned with a gunshot to the man's head.
"Ughhh. . "was all the man got out before he died.
"You've been naughty,"Gerard said as he leaned over the body of the man he had just killed. He got up and brushed his hands free of dust. He didn't seem like he was in much of a hurry.
Meanwhile, the men in the doorway heard the final gasps of breath of the man who had died and obviously been killed. They ran out of the door, their fire arms in their hands, not realizing what kind of mess they got themselves into. They searched about, seeing now two bodies lying on the rooftop, smoothered in blood. They saw no Gerard or any signs of anyone up there but themselves. They turned around and went back to the doorway and travelled down the stairs to leave. As soon as the door shut, Gerard came down from his hiding place, ontop of the door entry. He jumped down and walked over to the ledge, making sure those creeps were gone before he decided to go searching for Jara again. He knew not where she would be, because she never had a ritual or a habit of doing something, so there's no way of knowing where she could possibly be. It was a few hours before the sun was to come up, so Gerard knew where ever she was, she'd have to come back home soon before sunrise. He decided it'd be easier to talk to Jara when she came home, so he made his way there.

Meanwhile, while Gerard had come across the men, Jara was walking along the alleys, trying not to be seen in the bright lights of the city. She walked amongst black cats and a homeless person every now and then. However, right now, she was a walking along an alley alone in the darkness. She walked past a trash dumpster when a young man about her size with a leather jacket and knife crept up behind her and. .
