An Ex-Girlfriend's Revenge, chapter 11
"Good morning." Jana said, holding her cup of coffee and not looking up from the newspaper as Billie walked in the kitchen.
"Morning." He walked over to Jana and attempted to kiss her, but she casually turned her head so he caught her cheek. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing." Jana responded and took a sip of her coffee. "You don't look so good." Billie had his hand to his forehead.
"I got a killer hangover from last night." She looked up at him.
"Mike and Tre invited me and Ashlyn to the bar." she nodded slowly.
Then, Ashlyn walked in with the same killer hangover as Billie. Billie began acting weird and was staying as far away from her as possible, but Jana was getting suspicious. Billie decided to change the subject, as it was getting awkward.
"So, how was work last night?" he asked Jana.
"It was so hectic...everyone was busy and I had a million things to do at once. Did you two have fun last night?" She looked from Billie to Ashlyn. Guilty expressions spread over their faces, as they looked down.
"Wasn't that exciting." Billie mumbled, trying to hide what happened. Jana nodded and went back to reading the paper as they sighed in relief. Billie looked at Ashlyn and jerked his head towards the living room. She followed him inside. He looked back towards the kitchen to make sure Jana wasn't listening before turning to Ashlyn.
"Okay, we both know that meant nothing, right?" Ashlyn nodded, a little hurt.
"I think Jana's onto us. I'm going to have to tell her sometime, but I just have to find the perfect time." Ashlyn nodded again and went straight to her bedroom.
"Billie?" Jana called from the kitchen. Billie walked inside and she looked up from the paper. "I have to ask you something, and I want you to tell me the truth."
"Okay." Billie choked out. She looked around before asking him.
"Did you or did you not sleep with Ashlyn?" Billie was taken back.
"What? Where did you get that?" he asked, getting nervous.
"Well, last night, when I came home, I saw Ashlyn coming from upstairs. She told me the downstairs toilet was broken, so she used the one upstairs." Great, she blew our cover! Billie thought. "Well, I checked the toilet downstairs and it worked." Billie looked down. "Did you?"
"I'm not going to lie to you." Tears filled her eyes as anger filled her insides.
"Fucking asshole!" She stood up and pushed him. "I knew that bitch was up to no good! How could you do this to me? Do wedding vows mean nothing to you?" Billie's headache was getting worse from all of this screaming.
"Jana, listen to me. Ashlyn and I were really drunk last night. And we lost our heads." Memories flashed in his mind. "You know, you really can't criticize me about this when you did the same thing with Tre."
"Billie, that's different and you know it."
"How is it different?"
"Well, Tre and I didn't have a past, we didn't have a kid before I met you and then I told you a few years into our marriage, and I thought you were cheating on me. I was angry and I had to let it out with someone who actually loved me."
"Jana, I'm sorry. Really. I made a huge mistake and I wish I could take it back."
"Well, you can't, can you? I knew I shouldn't have let her push us around like that. I bet this was her whole plan...getting you drunk, so she could sleep with you and ruin our marriage. Well, it worked."
"Jana, please don't do this." He put his hand on her shoulder.
"Don't touch me." She threw his hand off. "Not after you touched her." The tears streamed down her face. "Look...we both know you love her. So marry her." Billie shook his head. "The kids and I are standing in your way, so why not just leave you two alone, right?" She headed for the stairs and went up to get all the kids. Billie just stood there with his hands to his forehead. She came back down with all the kids, opened the door, and they all ran to the car. He grabbed her arm.
"Jana, please stay here. We can talk about this."
"No," she said jerking her arm away. "I can't be around you right now." They all got in the black BMW and Jana pulled out of the driveway.
"Jana, that's my car." Billie called, but they drove off for Tre and Reeses' house. Jana needed the comfort of her friends.
Back at the House
Ashlyn smiled and closed her bedroom door. She had just heard everything. She had gotten Billie and he and Jana were done. Mission accomplished.
"Morning." He walked over to Jana and attempted to kiss her, but she casually turned her head so he caught her cheek. "What's wrong?"
