An Ex-Girlfriend's Revenge, chapter 9
"Guess what?!" Ashlyn yelled as she ran into the living room where Billie and Jana were sitting on the couch, watching T.V. They turned around and looked at her. "I just bought an apartment in Ceder Oaks!" Jana spit out her soda, causing Billie to jump.
"Ceder Oaks, ten minutes from our house, Ceder Oaks?" Jana asked. Ashlyn nodded with a grin.
"It's a two bedroom, one bath, with a view of the city. I just called McKayla and told her the good news. Now we can visit anytime we want!"
"Great." Jana mumbled, rolling her eyes. Ashlyn frowned at her.
"Won't that be great, Billie?" Ashlyn asked, stroking his arm.
"Yeah." He grabbed her hand and took it off his arm. "Just wonderful."
"I know! McKayla's coming down next Saturday...she'll love seeing her dad." Billie forced a weak smile and looked at Jana, who was shaking her head. "Then you two can spend some more time together." Jana couldn't take anymore of this.
"I just remembered there's something I have to do...over there." She got up and left the room as Ashlyn smiled. Billie knew her plan was to drive Jana crazy.
"Ashlyn, you can't just come her and put us in this situation like this, and I certainly don't appreciate you tormenting my wife."
"What about me? You never cared about me. You never gave me that chance."
"What are you talking about? You can't put this on me. You were gone when I woke up in that hotel room. You ran out."
"I was scared, Billie. What did you expect me to do? I woke up next to a rock star. I didn't know where I was, much less who I was. The more it all kept coming back, the more afraid I was that you were going to get rid of me. So, I left."
"Ashlyn, I'm sorry. I didn't know."
"Now you do." She turned and walked back to her room to pack. Billie just shook his head and looked at the ground. He was in the worst situation he had ever been in. Jana was uncomfortable with his past, and Ashlyn didn't know where to turn. Little did he know, things were about to get worse.
