"Daddy, is that from mommy?" Joseph asked.
"Yeah, here." I handed it to him and he read it.
"Mom's gone?" he handed it back to me and I put it on the table outside.
"Noooo. Mommy can't be gone." Jakob said starting to cry.
"No, no. Your mm is not gone. She's... She's just on a trip at her brothers. She won't be gone for long. Now who's hungry?"
"I am." Jakob said and stopped crying.
"Dad can you cook?" Joseph asked.
"Of course, out of Mike, me, and Tre', I'm the only one who cooks good food on tours." we went inside.
"Really? I thought Uncle Tre's was better?" Joseph said.
"He's better at masturbating and drinking." we all laughed. "What do you guys want to eat for dinner?"
"PIZZA!" They said in unison.
"Ok. Pizza it is. We haven't had pizza since the day before my last tour. Unless you guys had some while I was gone."
"No." Joseph said. They went and sat on the couch as I went and order: 1 pepperonni, small, and 1 half veggie and half cheese, large.
"The pizza will be here soon."
"Daddy I want mommy." Jakob said and ran over to me. He wrapped his arms around my waist.
"Jakey. I do too." I picked him up. "But you know what?"
"What?"
"You, Joseph, and I will be just fine. Let's go play the Xbox 360 to get our minds off this." I put him down.
"That sounds good to me." Joseph said getting up.
"Ok." Jakob said. We went into their game room and started to play one of their games that I can't remember the name to. Then the doorbell rang. I got up and went and answered it. I came back with the pizza in my hands.
"Boys dinner." I set the pizza down on their play table. After we got done eating I throw away the boxes and the napkins and then we went back to playing. After a few minutes of playing to phone rang. I got up and answered it.
"Hello?"
"Hey Billie it's me Steve."
"Hey Steve how's Adie doing?"
"She's a rack. She says she really hates that you are mad at her."
"I know. I want to see her. Can I come over?"
"Of course you can. You two need to talk about this. Yes I do love my sister but I can have her living here."
"Thanks Steve. I'll get a babysitter and I'll be right over." we hung up. "Joey, Jakey?"
"Yes dad?" Joseph asked.
"You two are going to be having a babysitter while I go and see your mom. Who do you want Mike or Tre'?"
"TRE'!" Jakob said.
"I don't care. I guess Tre' will work. I'd rather go with you and see mom." Joseph said.
"I know you would but our mother and I need to talk about what's going on. Now go get some things together while I call Tre'." They both left. Jakob ran out of the room with excitement and Joseph slowly left. I called Tre'.
"Hello?"
"Hey Tre'. Buddy of mine."
"NO. No. No. Not going to happen."
"You don't even know what I was going to ask you."
"Oh yes I do. You want me to take care of the monsters you call your children."
"Please Tre'. I need to go see Adie and I can't bring Joseph and Jakob with me."
"Where is she?"
"Her brothers."
"Why doesn't he take the kids while you two talk?"
"Because even the kids said. And I quote 'Because he doesn't have any kids to play with and all he does is sit and email, text, or chat with his girlfriend it's boring to stay with him. Dad next time can we please stay with Uncle Mike or Uncle Tre'? ' I said yes and so tonight I gave them the choice between you and
Mike and they picked you."
"Fine. You know you really do owe me big time."
"Thanks. You're a life saver. Can you come over here? That why they won't ruin you're house?"
"Sure. Be over in five."
"Thanks Tre. Bye." I hung up the phone. I saved and turned off the play station and turned off the tv. I went into the boy's room. "Boys. Tre's is coming over. So you don't have to worry about packing anything."
"Ok daddy." Jakob said and put the bag he had down. "Daddy will mommy be coming home soon?"
"I hope so Jakey." Joseph was lying on his bed face shoved into the pillow. I went over to him. "Joey you ok." he looked at me and he had tears coming down his cheek. "Joey come here." I sat down on the bed and put him on my lap. He laid his head on my shoulder. "Joey everything's going to be ok. You need to be strong. You know Jakob looks up to you. So if you cry it will make him want to cry."
"No it won't." Jakob said.
"Jakob go downstairs and wait for Uncle Tre'."
"Okay." he left.
"Joey look at me." he didn't lift his head. "Joey please look at me." he lifted his head. "You need to be the bigger man. Your mom will be back I promise. Now even though you don't get to see her tonight doesn't mean you won't ever be able to see her. Tonight relax and annoy Tre'.
"Okay. Dad?"
"Yeah?"
"Thank you." he got off my lap and went down stairs. I got up and went down stairs. Tre' was sitting on the floor in front of the couch where Joseph was stretch out at.
"Your sons are evil. Joey just shoved me off the couch." He said. I walked over to Joey.
"Nice." I gave him a high five.
"Armstrong's. Look the words evil and devil you'll find for the meaning 'Armstrong family. '"
"Thanks Tre' for that complement. If you look up the words dumbass or dick sucker you'll find your picture." he got up and chased me around the couch. Jakey laid down right in front of him and tripped him.
"You asshole."
"TRE!"
"Sorry boys. Billie don't you have some where to be."
"Oh shit yeah. Ok. Boys be yourselves and try and not kill Tre'." I grabbed my keys and left. I got into the car and heard a crash in the house but I was to focused on getting to Steve's and seeing Adie that I didn't pay much attention. I drove out of the drive and left. After a 45 minute drive I got to Steve's house. I turned off the engine and got out. I got up to the door and the door opened.
"Yeah, here." I handed it to him and he read it.
