Mistakes Can Be Good!, chapter 26

"What do you mean manhunt?" I asked.
"It's a game we played as a kid and on are last tour with Jack." Mike laughed.
"Can we play? Can we play?" Tré shouted.
"After sound check." Mike laughed back from the drivers seat.
I laughed and suddenly remembered Alex, myself and a couple of old friends used to play that as a child too.
"I know how to play that." I stated.
"Good! We don't have to explain." Tré pointed out.
I laughed as the bus fell silent again. For about a minute.
"When are we there?" I moaned.
"Two minutes." Mike replied.
The van fell silent again but for not that long.
"We're here!" Mike shouted as we all picked up are instruments, carried them into the open, outdoor venue where we set up onstage to begin soundcheck.
There was two microphones already set up for us. Billie tapped on the microphone.
"Can we being soundcheck?" Billie said clearly into the microphone.
Billie Joe struck the first few chords of Android but before you could know it soundcheck was over. There was some fans from there last tour bugging Green Day after soundcheck. I thought they might have won a contest or something. The fans, that were all girls, made huge circles around each band member. I sat on the edge of the stage listening to the murmers of who the fuck was that girl playing with Green Day. I stared at the ground way beneath my feet. Someone tapped on my shoulder. I turned around to see Billie and a crowd of girls behind me.
"Hang with me. I'm not going to leave you out." Billie said kindly.
"No. It's okay, han with them." I replied.
"Is there something wrong?" Billie asked sitting on the stage beside me.
"No, no, nothing's wrong," I sighed, " theres people waiting for you."
"This conversation is not over." Billie said standing up and moving away from the edge of the stage.
*
10 minutes later the crowd was escorted out of the venue by security gards. I was still sat on the edge of the stage. Mike and Tré was backstage and Billie ws sat down next to me.
"So. Are you going to tell me what's bugging your mind?" Billie asked.
"Just nervous. It's a big venue and I don't remember what I did to keep cool before the other concert because we were all pissed." I replied.
"Usually before each gig I don't talk to anyone, it's because I'm nervous too. You'll be weird not to. I even think Tré does too." Billie Joe said.
Billie put an arm around my shoulders. I gave a quick smile and pu an arm around him. Billie and I stood up and walked arm-in-arm backstage. We went back to arm dressing rooms and was planning to sit around and relax until the concert at 8pm. It was only 4:30pm. I turned the tele on on the dressing room and sat on the couch with Bllie. I began staring up at the ceiling until I felt a hand slid across my hip. I suddely felt a pair ofsoft lips press against mine. We pulled apart and began to look like we were watching TV but really we were just staring at the wall past the TV.
*
An hour later there was a knock at the door but we for Billie or I could awnser it or shout come in Tré had come bouncing in the room.
"MANHUNT, MANHUNT," Tré shouted.
Billie sighed as we got up and went to the grass area where the fans would be laer tonight. We was going to have a few games with Tré as we did say we would.
"What's home then?" I asked.
"Stage?" Billie suggested.
"Sure." Mike and Tré said in unison.
"I'm with Steph!" Tré said grabbing my hand and running off towards the bushes along the edge of the stage. Tré glided under a small bush and pulled me under with him. He wrapped his arms around me to make sure I never fell out of the bush (Tré wouldn't do anything to drastic to me as he new Billie and I was close). Billie gave me a peck on the lips as I felt his hands rub up and down my waist. Suddenly, we heard (and saw) Mike and Billie run past to the far sid of the field away from us and the base so Tré and I made a run for it.
