A Phantoms Vision, chapter 2

Have you ever woke up and thought "Hmm 5 more minutes..." Everyday right? Ha...Well today that was different for me. I needed to get up and go, if I hang around for too long mum will be on my tail again. So common Aaron pull your arse out of bed...Phew that part is over. Oh great Rory's running around again.. He's going to wake one of them up.. .

"Arrr...Sweetie stay another 5 minutes...No-one will miss us."

"Rory!" I whispered in a hoarse voice, still trying to sifted my morning voice. He giggled and ran my way.

Hmm what's that in his hand? Looks like...a bandana or a handkerchief?

"Hey little buddy," ruffling his hair making it stick out at random places.

"What you got there?" He opened up his hand and shoved the object into my face. "Woah, I said show me not feed me..." I looked down the hallway to see if anyone had come out of their rooms then pulled Rory into my own room. And then again started giggling. I took the cloth off of him and placed it in my own hands, running it through my fingers. Hmm.. Felt like a different type of material, like an expensive one.

"Where did you get this from?" I asked him, my voice still a bit croaky.

He shrugged. "On the stand in the living room, where the phone normally is." Hmm he seems excited, he carried on talking in a child like manner but then he was only 7. "It caught my eye, but its so cool! Its black with white spots all over it! Well apart from this reddish smudge here...Maybe I should get mum to wash it for me, it might come out then!" He then grabbed it from my hand and ran near our parents door.

"No Rory!"

Argh too late stupid pip squeaks ran in already. Oh great even better I hear talking they must be up. Now yelling...What the? Why is my mum running after Rory...

"Rory Connor Johnson, get back here you son of a bitch!" she squalled, stilling running down the hallway with Rory balling his eyed out ahead.

Oh no...Ivy's came out she's going to kill mum...

"Rory, what are you doing?" He just ran by, leaving Ivy clueless, well until she saw her run after him. "Mum?" she continued. But was cut off by the sound of a weak cry and what sounded like a thump.

"Rory!" Both me and Ivy said in unison, we ran after Rory and are 'beloved' mother to see what happened.

"Ahh, ow! That stings...Do you have to use that stuff?"

"Well...If you didn't jump up and down on the drum kit and cut yourself I wouldn't have to Frank..."

So. Here I am now, in the hospital with my sister leaning on my shoulder probably worried like hell, with my dad on the other side of her rubbing his thumb around the edge of his coffee cup, waiting for some new results of his son. My brother. And my mum? Well she didn't even had the decency to sit with us.. There she is over in the corner, but her eyes aren't puffy and red like the rest of us, she isn't fidgeting in her seat or having the odd cough now and then to break the silence she's just sitting there flicking through her phone.

"Excuse me, could you please put that away, you cant use your cell in the hospital." The nurse smiled hugging the files in her arms closer to her chest.

Mum just nodded and slipped it back into her pocket with a quick look over to me. Ah crap she's seen me looking at her. Now dad's looking at me...Err maybe I should just look in the other direction.

"She isn't coming back in my house..." I turned around, it wasn't dad because he had got up to go to the coffee machine again.

"Down here you girl" Ivy whispered. I smiled and shifted her weight so she was facing me. I hate to admit it but since she didn't have any make up on she was kind of scaring me...

"She isn't coming back in my house." She spat, gritting her teeth.

Even though Ivy was just a year older than me she did basically act like another parent around the house. She looked after Rory everyday, helped clean up, cook, laundry, anything to make it easier for dad. Besides that thing over there wasn't going to help, plus Ivy enjoyed it anyway. She said it made her feel like she was accomplishing something. So we talked about what we were going to do and why mum did it in the first place. We laughed about some stupid thing Rory did last summer involving a tennis racket. Everything was going fine. Well until she came over. We were on about if we should go to the gift shop and get some sweets or candy bars for when he came out and then a shadow covers us, causing me and Ivy to look up. Ivy's cheeks practically burnt red with rage, I had to sketch my arm across her to stop.

"Hi..." A simple sweet sentence with a bitter sour taste to it.

You know something funny happened today...I saw a girl with a t-shirt saying 'I Also Enjoy Inflicting Pain Onto Others As Well As Myself'.. It was like the 1st part was my life story..."
