The Girl They All Want, chapter 10
The next day Serena woke up cuddled next to Tre still on the couch.
She rubbed her eyes and yawned before looking at Tre. He looked so peaceful and was smiling in his sleep. Suddenly Serena felt tired all over again so she sidled next to Tre and drifted off to sleep.
Later that day....
Serena woke up again but Tre had disappeared.
"Tre?" She called out tentatively.
No one answered.
Meanwhile....
Tre was in the middle of a heated conversation with Mike.
"What do you mean you love her???" Mike asked impatiently.
"Exactly what I said goddamnit!" Tre snapped angrily.
"But she's Billie's girl."
"They're broken up."
"Fuck you're stupid! Billie dated her first therefore she is Billie's girl."
Tre sighed.
"C'mon buddy. They're meant to be together."
"I want Serena for myself but I want Billie to be happy."
"That's an impossible combination."
'He's right.' thought Tre. Then Tre knew what he had to do.
Serena was terribly bored so she decided to check her e-mail. Once she had logged on, she saw that she had lots of junk mail. When she reached the bottom of the message list, she saw that Billie had sent her something.
When she read the message and song, she felt her heart melt. Billie was so sweet. Then she realized something, she was still in love with him. It was true, she still cared about him, more then she cared to admit.
She sent a reply that suggested they meet sometime. Then she remembered Tre and felt slightly guilty.
As much as Tre loved Serena, he knew she was only truly happy when she was with Billie and Tre wanted her to be happy even if it meant it wasn't with him.
Finally he realized that they were meant to be together, just as Mike had said.
He marched downstairs, drew in a shaky breath, and said, "Serena, if you love Billie don't let me hold you back. You deserve to be happy."
Serena looked at him with a smile. "Really, TreTre?"
"Of course." he gave her a sad smile.
She went over to him and gave a hug. "Thanks Tre." she whispered.
Mike's house
At that moment Billie happened to be checking his e-mail. He saw a message from Adrienne. He shuddered and deleted it with even reading it. Then he saw something that made his day, a message from Serena, suggesting they meet up sometime. He immediately sent a reply that told her to meet him at their house the next day at 7:00pm.
Billie leaned back in the chair, a glimmer of hope appearing in his eyes.
