The Girl They All Want, chapter 5
A few weeks later...
Everything was going pefectly for the upcoming tour, especially for Mike, who recently found himself a girlfriend named Brittney, and Billie because Adrienne had to concentrate on work and hardly ever came around anymore.
A few weeks ago Mike had been jealous and that was the reason for his evilness but now it was all past him. Tre however seemed to be feeling blue. Perhaps because of a certain beautiful blond girl?
Billie searched for Serena, he had decided that he really wanted her to come on tour with them, usually tours meant "guy time" but he would miss her too much and ruin his trip feeling miserable without her. He found her by the pool lying on the swing under the tree.
"Hey Billie", she said without even looking up.
"How did you know?" he asked.
"'Cause I know everything and the fact that I smelt your cologne", she replied.
They both laughed.
"Babe I was wonderin'..."
"Yeah?"
"If maybe..."
"Tell me already!"
"You wanted to come on tour with us this time?", he finshed quickly.
Serena searched his eyes with hers, looking for a trace of a joke, but found none.
"But I thought tours were like your bonding time with Mike and Tre?", she pointed out.
"True but i'll miss you way way too much." he replied shyly.
Serena felt her heart melt. How could she say no when he was so sweet?
"Of course I'll come.", she answered happily.
"Then it's settled, you'll come on tour with me, Mike and Tre."
Serena felt a moment of dread when Billie mentioned Tre but quickly shook it away, she could worry about him later, right now she just wanted to relish this perfect moment.
At Tre's house...
Meanwhile Tre was relaxing and watching soaps (he only did this when he was alone or upset) trying not to think about Serena and the coming tour. If only he could get her out of his head then maybe he could forget that wonderful kiss... Damn he was doing it again! In a effort to get her out of his head, he called up Adie (they had become good friends due to the similarity in their personalities) if anyone could get him to stop thinking about Serena it was her.
Adie answered on the first ring.
"Hello"
"Adie, hi!"
"Oh hey Tre whats up?"
"Nothing much I was just wanting to chat..."
"Oh ok"
After about a half hour, Tre said his goodbyes and hung up. Unfortunately the call hadn't kept his mind off Serena. Tre knew that Serena only thought of him as a friend again, the joking and normality proved that and she probably thought he was over her as well. Tre was glad that she wasn't going on tour with them but then he really wanted her to come. He felt really confused right now and decided to take a catnap.
Serena sat up and yawned. She and Billie had fallen asleep in each others arms on the swing. She looked down and smiled at the sight of Billie, sleeping like a baby. Serena foze heard a noise behind her. She turned slowly to find that it was Tre.
"Hey" she greeted him.
"Serena I need to talk to you", he said in a serius voice.
"Okay lets go inside so we don't wake Billie.", she suggested.
Serena carefully got off the swing and followed Tre into the house.
"So what did you want?" she asked once they were seated on the couch.
"I can't stop thinking about that... Kiss"
"Me too", she said quietly.
Tre leaned towards her and kissed her tenderly.
Billie walked into the room at that moment.
"What the fuck is this?!?!?!", he yelled with hurt and anger in his voice.
"Billie!" Serena cried.
"I can't believe this! My girlfriend and my best friend..." Billie's voice trailed off.
Billie had never felt so betrayed. Suddenly it felt the room was suffocating him.
"I'm leaving." he snapped at them and walked out the door.
Billie needed a place to think and he knew just the place. He didn't want anyone to follow him so he decided to walk. The place was a old abandoned road called "Christie Road" it was place him and his stoner buddies used to go in high school.
Suddenly Billie felt very alone.
Serena sat in shock at what had just happened. Today had been a perfect day up until about five minutes ago. She looked outside and saw that Billie's car was still in the drive. Right then she knew where he went.
Billie arrived at his old hangout when night had fallen. He didn't know what to do or where to go so he continued to walk down the road and fell deep into thought. Being here reminded him of the music video of "Boulevard of Broken Dreams". He felt exactly like how the lyrics sounded.
"I walk a lonely road", he sang.
"The only one I have ever known", a female voice sang back.
Billie turned to see Serena.
"Billie I am SO sorry its just Tre he..." she trailed off and started sobbing.
Billie looked at her. She was a wreck her makeup was smeared, her eyes were ringed red and her face was all splotchy.
He wrapped his arms around her and kissed the top of her head.
She sniffed. "Billie-" she started but Billie made a shushing sound.
"Don't worry about it i'll figure something out with Tre."
Billie turned her aound so he could look into her beautiful eyes.
She smile at him and stood on her tippy toes so she could kiss him. She felt him grin when their lips met. Serena wrapped her arms around his neck as he put his hands on her hips. It started to rain but they continued to kiss just as passionately. Soon they were soaked but they didn't give a fuck. All they cared about was being in each others arms.
Several minutes later they parted and started home.
Tre paced worridly as Mike tried to calm him down (he had called Mike as soon as Billie left) he had never seen Billie so pissed before not even at him.
Mike told him that BJ would get over it but Tre wasn't so sure. Tre didn't even wanna think about Billie getting so mad that Green Day broke up. He couldn't let that happen.
Mike got to Billie's house as fast as he could when Tre had called him. He wasn't as worried as Tre because he knew Bill couldn't stay mad and would forgive Tre eventually. But then again he hadn't see how mad his best friend had gotten so he could be wrong.
Just then the door opened, both Mike and Tre turn to see Billie and Serena, soaked from the storm outside, walk inside.
Tre immediately turned away while Mike walked up to Billie.
"Are you ok?" Mike demanded.
"Yup i'm doing just fine.", Billie replied and smiled at Serena when he said that.
"I'll deal with you tomorrow.", Billie told Tre calmly, making Tre dread the following day.
