The Girl They All Want, chapter 8
That night both Serena and Billie cried themselves to sleep.
Serena woke the next morning to the ringing of her cell phone. She checked the caller ID, It was Billie.
Serena sighed. 'When would the hurt go away?' she wondered.
She saw that Billie had sent her a text message that said, "We need 2 talk".
Serena tossed her phone on the bed and went to find Tre.
"Tre i hate to ask this but..." she said once she had found him.
"Ask away." he replied.
"Would you bring me back to Billie's house so i can get some of my stuff?" she asked quickly.
"Ok." Tre said softly.
They got left the house and got into Tre's BMW.
When they arrived Serena crept into the house, hoping to avoid Billie.
That was impossible once she saw that he was in his bedroom where her stuff was located.
He noticed her immediately.
"Serena!" he cried happily.
Serena ignored him and started to grab some of her essentials.
"Just so you know Billie Joe, You're not forgiven," she informed him.
Billie's face fell but then turned angry.
"Oh ya, well how do i know you never screwed Tre?" he demanded.
"Because I would never do that to you." she answered softly.
Billie's face softened then grew angry again.
"What I did was no worse then what you did!" he insisted
"But i never had sex with Tre!" Serena, looked shocked that Billie even suggested such a thing.
Billie looked ashamed.
"But I love you." he said quietly.
"How could we be together if we've both cheated on each other? We'd never trust each other." Serena questioned him.
Billie looked ready to cry.
"Maybe we're not meant to be together." she said sadly before slipping out the door.
Billie's P.O.V.
It broke his heart to hear Serena say those words. When they had first met, they thought they were meant to be together other because they completed each other but not only that, Serena's parents had died on the same exact day as Billie's dad. They had so much in common and Billie felt as though he'd fucked up the best thing that ever happened to him.
Serena raced back to Tre's vehicle, trying to hold back her tears.
When she climbed in, she gave him a sad smile.
There was something about getting her stuff that made the break up seem so
Final that she couldn't help but cry.
When they got back to Tre's place, Serena went straight to the guestroom Tre let her stay in so she could cry in peace.
A few hours later....
Tre's P.O.V
It made Tre sad to see his best friend so blue. He decided he was going to cheer her up. Tre walked into the guestroom.
"C'mon Serena, we're gonna do some crazy shit today!" Tre yelled
"Tre." she whined.
"Serena." Tre mimicked her in the exact same voice
"Okay we'll do some crazy shit today." Serena relented.
"Yay!" Tre said excitedly then grabbed Serena's hand and pulled her downstairs.
"Okay we're gonna sneak into Mike's house." He said once they were in the kitchen.
"How are we gonna get inside?" Serena asked.
"I just so happen to have spare key to his house and Billie's too." Tre replied slyly.
"Then let's go!" Serena said excitedly.
Since Mike's place was very far from Tre's house, they decided to go on foot.
They raced out the door and pretended to be spies all the way there, hiding behind cars, trees, and such.
A old man watched them with a strange look on his face.
"He must think we're crazy." Serena said, motioning to the old man.
"Maybe we are." Tre replied with such a serious face, Serena couldn't help but giggle.
When they got to Mike's, they crept to the back door, opening it slowly so nobody would hear. Once in, they went into Mike's kitchen. Tre hid his coffee outside, while Serena kept watch. Tre then grabbed some marshmallows for them to munch on. They heard voices, so they clambered in hiding places. Before Tre hid, he wrote something on a paper and placed it where Mike would find it.
Mike walked in and immediately went to get some coffee.
"Damn, I just bought some yesterday." he said, slightly amused but also pissed.
Then he noticed the paper, he walked over and read it over. He looked around in fear. Tre made a weird noise, alarming Mike.
"Who the fuck is here?" he asked with fear in his voice.
Billie walked in the room.
"Whom are you talking to?" he asked curiously.
"No one." Mike answered with a sigh.
Tre threw one of the marshmallows at Mike's head then one at Billie.
Mike whipped his head around.
He opened his mouth to say something but Tre quickly threw a marshmallow inside it.
Tre decided to throw one more on Mike's head. First he licked it so it would be sticky then threw it. It stuck on Mike's head but he didn't even notice.
Serena was doing everything she could to keep from laughing.
Tre busted out laughing, rolling on the ground and holding his stomach.
Serena soon joined him.
"Damn you Tre." Mike scolded him, "You really scared me!"
"How did you get in anyway?" Billie asked.
"The door was open." Tre lied, refusing to let them know about the keys.
Then Mike noticed Serena. "Serena! You were in this too?" Mike laughed.
Billie stared wide-eyed at her.
Serena gave him a small wave and an uncomfortable smile.
Tre glanced at Mike, who returned Tre's worried look.
"Serena, wanna head back?" Tre asked nervously.
"Sure." Serena gave them a small wave before heading out the door.
Mike's P.O.V
Mike could see how being broken up with Serena was tearing Billie apart but he didn't know if Serena still loved Billie or not. Mike decided to have Tre investigate but he would call him later when Billie wasn't around.
Billie stared blankly at Mike, with a sad look on his face.
"God i miss her so much." Billie said tearfully.
Mike sat by his best friend with a worried look on his face. He hadn't seen Billie this upset since Billie's dad died.
