There Goes My Minnesota Girl…, chapter 2
Adrienne's Point Of View
"Yeah... I'm okay... are you?" he asked me, referring to the stains on my clothes.
"It's just clothes, I'm not dead or anything," I said, laughing. He laughed too.
"Well... uh... I'm Billie Joe," he said, shaking my hand.
"Adrienne." I smiled. He smiled back. "Any who, where can I find your album?"
"I'll try to find you one," he said.
"So, here's my number, can you call me when you can send me one?" I asked. I scribbled my number on a napkin I found near me. He nodded.
Billie Joe's Point Of View
Was it just me, or had others noticed her beauty? Was she single? I had millions of questions streaming through my mind as I watched her walk away. She was so beautiful...
"Billie-WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO YOU!!!!!!!! YOU ARE SO FUCKING PALE!" Tre screamed at me. He was gripping two sticks in his hands.
"Nothing-" I started.
"Nothing? NOTHING? WHAT HAPPENED?" he spat out at me.
"I met a girl... her name's Adrienne," I said, still watching the door.
"Ooooh, is she hot?" he asked. I punched him. "Owww!" I rolled my eyes and went to find Mike. Then I remembered I had her number. I went to find a payphone, and called her. With every ring, I prayed that she might pick up.
"Hello?" I heard.
"Uh... this is Billie Joe," I said.
"Oh, hey!"
"Hi... "
"Did you find the album?"
"No, but Mike's not here, Tre is taunting me about you-"
"Me?"
"Yeah... I told him."
"Nice move." There was a pause. "So, I have to go, hope to see you again." We hung up and my insides were churning.
(A few months later)
"Hey... let's go on another tour!" I said excitedly. I heard some groans from Mike and Tre. "We can go to Minnesota!"
"We just went there a few months ago!" groaned Tre.
"Pleaaase?" I said, giving puppy dog eyes.
"FINE!" they said.
(In Minnesota again)
"Thanks for coming out!" I said as I spotted Adrienne. I set down my guitar and ran to meet her... even though it wasn't really meeting.
"Hey, Billie Joe!" I heard her say. I hugged her, then held her at arms length.
"You don't wanna know how much I missed you," I said.
"You missed me?" she asked, surprised.
"Yup... " I said, embarrassed. Before I knew it... I leaned towards her, and closed my eyes. I felt her lips brush mine and then I forced my tongue through them. I allowed her tongue into my mouth. We finally separated, breathing heavily.
"I need to go," she said, trying to hide a grin. She kissed me again and then left. That night, I couldn't forget her. I didn't fall asleep. Instead, at sunrise, I wrote a song composed of all my emotions currently.
I sit alone in my bedroom
Staring at the walls
I've been up all damn night long
My pulse is speeding
My love is yearning
I hold my breath and close my eyes and...
Dream about her
Cause she's 2000 light years away
She holds my malakite so tight so...
Never let go
Cause she's 2000 light years away
Years Away!
I sit outside and watch the sunrise
Lookout as far as I can
I can't see her, but in the distance
I hear some laughter,
We laugh together
I hold my breath and close my eyes and...
Dream about her
Cause she's 2000 light years away
She holds my malakite so tight so...
Never let go
Cause she's 2000 light years away
Years Away!
I sit alone in my bedroom

Dream about her
Cause she's 2000 light years away

Never let go
Cause she's 2000 light years away...
"What's that?" I heard Tre ask. He grabbed my songbook out of my hands. "I sit alone in my bedroom, staring at the walls," he muttered in a sing-song voice. I grabbed it from him, embarrassed. "Who's the girl?" he asked, making kissy noises.
"No one!" I shouted, grabbing the book away. But it was someone. Someone I was madly in love with.
"Yeah... I'm okay... are you?" he asked me, referring to the stains on my clothes.
