Still after who knows how long of searching, Billie and Tre couldn't find me anywhere. They had to get to class soon to, lunch was almost over.

"Oh, where could he be?" Billie asked aloud. He was very frustrated and worried at this point, "We checked upstairs, downstairs, library, the cafeteria, the court, locker rooms, the class rooms, portables, playground..." Billie went counting on his fingers, making sure they had searched everywhere. Then a sudden thought came to him. What if he left the school? Went some place, or back home? His thoughts were interrupted by a wining Tre.
"I gotta pee!" he complained. Billie gasped.
"That's it!" he shouted.
"Huh?"
"The bathrooms! We haven't searched the bathrooms! Tre you're a genius!" and just like that he started running down the stairs.
"Well don't thank me," Tre said wisely as he ran after Billie, "Thank nature!"

They searched all bathrooms on the first floor then continued to the second floor. Since they had to be safe and check both girls and boys, Tre did the honors.
"Anything?" Billie asked as Tre walked out of the girls' bathroom.
"Nada." Tre replied. A girl looked at them weird as she went in.
"What are you looking at?" Tre said to her like a preppy girl, as usual.

They continued searching until there was only one bathroom left. This bathroom was the oldest, most run down, abandoned looking one of them all. It was kinda spooky, some people are even afraid to go there. Billie and Tre slowly walked in. If he isn't here, who knows where he'd be, thought Billie as he walked around. Tre ran straight to the first stall he saw and went to do his business.

"Mike... " called Billie slowly. He opened every stall, until there was one left. When it didn't open, he went down on his hands and knees to see a pair of worn down converses and the beginning of a pair of jeans. Billie gave a sigh of relief. He stood up.
"Mike." He called into the locked door. I said nothing. "Mike, come on, I know you're in there."
"Go away." I said miserably. I really felt like crap.
"Mike," Billie started, he was leaning against the stall door, "Look, me and Tre came to apologize for what happened. Tre didn't mean it." I just sniffed.
"Sorry doesn't cut it." I said harshly.
"I know, it's just, I don't know what came over me, I guess I was just having crappy day. I didn't mean to embarrass you." I stood silent, "Maybe she thinks I'm weird." There was a pause.
"My life is just screwed up." I finally said.
"No, it isn't, Mikey," Tre said from 4 stalls down, "Could be a lot worse!"
"Tre's right." Billie agreed, "You couldn't have us."
"I don't know," I said absent minded, "Sometimes I think it could be better without you two." Billie gasped. That sentence seemed to stab Billie right through the heart. How could he say something like that? Billie thought in shock. There was a long silence.

"I'm a failure in life." I muttered, I started to break down again. Tre came out of his stall and walked over to Billie, who seemed to have been stabbed right threw his heart. Tre knelt down next to him.
"You're not a failure, Mikey." Tre said trying to comfort me. "If you were, you wouldn't be here right now." I just continued to sob. A frown spread across Tre's face. "You're just a person who happens to have really bad luck."
"Bad luck? Is that what you call it? My life's been screwed up even before I was born!" I yelled at him through the stall door, "Well, if you don't think my god damn life is screwed up, you tell me! I have no fucking idea who my father is, my mom was a drug addict, my adoptive parents divorced when I was seven, I was living out of my truck, I was on the verge of poverty, I had to beg on my knees to stay with Billie, and now YOU TWO AREN'T HELPING!!!" I screamed. I banged my fist on the stall wall and started to cry again. There was a long silence; neither Tre nor Billie said a word. The three of us sat, hearing me cry in the empty bathroom stall. They sat there for another fifteen minutes in silence until the bell rang.
"Come on Tre," Billie said quietly as he stood up, "we're late for class." Tre stood up and followed Billie out of the bathroom. "See you after school." He called out to me. I said nothing. I heard them walk out and prayed that no one else would find me.

In six period, Billie walked sluggishly into class and took his seat next to Annie, which he wasn't very happy to see, considering what had happened. He sighed and put his head down on the table, covered by his arms, waiting for class to start. Annie took notice right away that something was wrong. As their science teacher began explaining about some weird chemical, Annie tried to get Billie to say what was wrong. Luckily, their table was in the very back, so no one really took notice, some times their teacher even forgot they were there.

"Billie!" she whispered in his ear.
"What?" he asked, his head still buried in his arms.
"Are you ok?
"Oh, yah, I've just... had a stressful day." He lied.
"Oh," said Annie, a little disappointed because she knew he was lying, "ok."

After a while, Billie couldn't take it any more, he had to tell someone. Had to get this weight of his shoulders, he felt so guilty.
"Annie? Can I ask you something?" he asked her desperately.
"Sure BJ, what?" she smiled at him. At that moment he realized that she could help him, she reminded him of Mike. Holy crap, he thought, now I really feel like shit.
"Uh... . what would you do if your friend got angry at you and then ran into a bathroom crying, saying that their life is screwed up?" Billie said. Annie thought for a moment.
"Well, I guess I would apologized, you know, try to comfort them." She suggested.
"But what if it doesn't work? I mean, what if you only make things worse?" Billie begged for answers.
"Hmmm... . I'd give them some space, like give sometime to think to themselves." She suggested again.

"And after that?" Billie asked, he was on the right track, right?
"Well, I'd try to apologize again." She said simply.
"And what if that doesn't work?" Annie looked at Billie. There was a pause.
"You seem to have a complicated situation, Billie Joe." she finally said. Billie sighed.
"Tell me."
"All of it?" Billie asked, "From the beginning?" She nodded. "I don't know of mike would want me to... " he trailed off, "That's what started this whole thing." He said quietly. She looked confused.
"Well, I can't help you if you don't tell me the whole story." Billie sighed. "Well, first, what's your friend's name?" she asked.
"Mike. Mike Dirnt. You know him." She looked at Billie confused.
"I do?"
"Michael Pritchard sound familiar?" after a moment of thinking, Annie nodded with a smile.
"Yah, Mr. Pritchard."

For the rest of the day, I sat in the bathroom stall, all alone. I kept thinking to myself, why am I here? Did god put me on this earth for reason? Or am I just... here? I sat thinking about my past, my real parents, Billie, Tre... . Who am I kidding? I would be a failure if I didn't have Billie and Tre... . Where would I be without them? I sighed. Annie... .Annie, Annie, Annie. I sighed again. Why did life have to be so unfair? Maybe it was a mistake to come to school... . I haven't seen her at all... . This would have never happened!

See what I mean? Anyway I sat there all day until the last bell rang. I heard people stampeding out in the hallway, rushing to get out of this hell hole. But I stayed put. I felt safe here. Protected. Disconnected from the rest of the world... . Yes, I know I'm talking about a public bathroom. But I just like to be alone sometimes, I guess.

Billie was the last one to walk out of his science class along with Annie. Both of them had missed the entire days lecture, but who cares? Billie told Annie the whole story and she seemed to have helped him a lot with the situation. Just to say, he didn't feel like shit any more.
"Thanks a lot Annie," he said, just as they went their separate ways, "I owe you one!"
"No prob, I'll see you tomorrow. Tell me how it goes!" she called as ran the opposite way down the hallway and disappeared around the corner. Just then someone tackled Billie from behind him.

"AH! Tre get off me!" he screamed. They both toppled to the floor.
"Too late!" Tre said as he helped Billie up off the floor. Billie dust himself off. "Well, let's go get Mike and head home!" Tre said and started walking in the direction of the bathroom.
"Wait a second," Billie said as ran up to Tre, "Mike's still in the bathroom?"
"Well, he wasn't in my last class, were else would he be?" Tre shrugged. But when they got to the bathroom, there was little problem.
"Mi-ike!" yelled Tre as he entered the bathroom. I sighed.
"Wha-at?" I yelled back.
"Time to go home!"
"Don't you think I know that, stupid?" I asked him.
"Oh, come on Mikey! We're sorry about what we did! We love you!" he pretended to cry as he leaned against my stall door. I sighed and stood up.
"Ok, alright, I forgi-" suddenly I loud metallic snap was heard.
"What the hell was that?" Billie asked. I looked at my stall door. Oh shit.
