Be There, chapter 10
"Myla! Phone!" Zack yells from his room. I roll over on my pillow and grab at my nightstand for the phone.
"Hello?" I say mid-yawn.
"Hey babe."
"Tre, why the hell are you calling so early?"
"I can't sleep, besides I wanted to ask you out again."
"What if I hang up because I'm irritated you woke me up?"
"Please don't do that." He pleads, "You've been rejecting me for the past week, when will my punishment end?"
"This isn't punishment, it's just... Okay yeah I guess it is punishment. Besides I have my reasons."
"And what reasons are those? To experience horniness beyond belief, where you're just about ready to pounce the next thing that moves?"
"No, in my past relationships I came to realize I shouldn't sleep with someone who doesn't trust me of vice versa."
"Awe, couldn't you make an exception, I mean I've known you since you were seventeen."
"Exactly, I would've figured you'd trust me after all this time." I retort.
"Please Myla, I don't want to fight with you anymore."
"Okay." I say reluctantly.
"Are you going to gofer again?"
"Yeah I guess, or else I'm out of work."
"Good."
"What that I'm out of work?"
"No, that you're coming along." He says flustered, "Well I guess that ties into you being out of work."
The phone rings and Mike finally picks up.
"Heeylo."
"Hey Mike, guess what!"
"No, because you're just going to tell me anyway."
"I'm moving back to Oakland!"
"Really, that's awesome, what about... Oh fuck, what's his name... Jesse?"
"We broke up."
"What? How come?" he asks disappointed.
"I got bored." I say meekly. Mike bursts out laughing.
"I knew you wouldn't be able to last with a Normy."
"HEY!"
"You need a friggin jester to keep you entertained."
"That's not true." I pout.
"Yes it is."
"Shut up." I mumble as Mike chuckles to himself. "Ahh Myla, you make me laugh."
I'm the first to get to the airport, followed by Billie, Mike and finally Tre. We board the plane and I end up sitting next to Billie Joe. The flight is only supposed to be a couple of hours but I still manage to get bored. I start poking the stubble on Billie's face.
"Stop, stop, Myla stop, stop." He says absent-mindedly, "Leave me alone, you and Tre are the worst people to sit next to. Mike save me."
"You should've shaved this morning." I say still poking his cheek, "I only poke stubble."
"Never sitting next to you again." He mutters.
"Poke!" he glares at me for a second then jabs me in the ribs causing me to burst out laughing.
"Stop poking."
"Fine." I mumble.
"Argh Fuck TRE!" Mike yells startled.
"What happened?" Billie Joe asks as we turn around to see Tre smirking evilly and Mike rubbing his face.
"I was asleep and then he started licking me." Mike says annoyed.
"Well at least you got some sleep, your sister kept poking me."
"I repeat, you should've shaved."
"Tre, switch seats with me!" Billie demands as he unbuckles his seat belt.
"Awe." Tre says as he gets up and sits next to me. After a few minutes, when he's sure Billie Joe and Mike are asleep he turns to me.
"Yay, my plan worked." He says placing his hand on my thigh and leaning in to kiss me.
"Villainous fool, they can wake up at any time." I say pushing his hand off my thigh.
"You're no fun." He taunts, "C'mon let's risk it."
"I will not give in to peer pressure." I smirk evilly.
"You're torturous!" he mutters into my neck. How I'd like to take part in this foolishness, but the fact that Mike was a mere two feet away made me uneasy.
"And you're a sex addict."
"If I were a sex addict we'd be romping in the isle right now."
"Let's get drunk and go out driving! Let's just see how quickly we can go!" Billie chants as the three guys skip off stage after a huge show.
"Let's get plowed and plow down some old lady, Let's drink and bump the stereo!" Mike joins in.
"Let's go down and vomit out the window, Let's keep score of how many we kill." Tre sings proudly. Resisting the urge to join them is futile.
"Two tequila slammers on the dashboard, There's an alcoholic at the wheel." I sing loudly and proudly getting nods of approval from Tre.
"I'm going to the bus!" Mike yells as Billie and Tre continue to sing.
"Oh Tre, Myla are you two coming with us?"
"What?" I ask cluelessly.
"Jason and I are going to this club thingy near by." Billie exclaims with elaborate arm gestures.
"Nah, I'll pass." I mumble.
"Tre?"
"I'm still getting use to the whole time difference, I'm beat." Tre says as Billie shrugs him off. The two guys disappear down the hall way to the changing rooms. I stand around a while before I casually stroll down the hallway at a slow pace till I arrive to the changing rooms.
"Later Myla." Billie calls out as he jogs past me. I slink into the changing room to find Tre is the only one left.
"Do you plan on taunting me?" he asks as he wipes his hair off with a towel. I don't say anything, I just stroll on up to him and put my hands on his face and guide his lips onto mine. "Hmm, does this mean my punishment's over?"
"I guess so." I say as I feel his hands move down my back, then up my shirt. Undressing Tre takes no time, since he was only wearing pants. Before his pants fall to the floor he pulls out a little square packet.
"Always prepared, huh?" I giggle as he tears open the packet with his teeth, I take the piece of rubber out of his hand and put it on him, giving him a short squeeze before letting go. The final pieces of my clothing fall to the floor as Tre's lips lock against mine and push me against the bare wall. My arms and legs are wrapped around him, my back flat out against the wall as he moves into me. How I was dying for this for two weeks. We slide down to the floor and Tre moves to sit next to me, sweat trickling from his forehead, backstage was always overheated.
I move my head so it's resting on his shoulder and I start to peck at his neck causing him to squirm for a mere second before going into a state of relaxation. As the kisses on his neck become more intense, my leg slides over his and I end up sitting on his lap, straddling his legs. He cups my butt and pulls me closer; I place my hands on the back of his neck as he pushes my chin up so my lips are now moving against his as his tongue seeks entrance into my mouth.
I wake up the next morning and realized that we spent the whole night in changing room and we're supposed to be back at the hotel within the next half hour.
"Fuck, Tre wake up." I say nudging him.
"Five more minutes and I'll rock your world." He mumbles.
"No Tre, you have an interview back at the hotel!"
"What?" he says waking up with a jolt, "What time is it?"
"Nine, and it's at the hotel."
"Oh fuck." He says pulling on some clothes; I do the same. I call for a taxi to pick us up as Tre gathers up his stuff. We scurry out the back door where the taxi arrives within a few seconds.
Getting a glimpse of myself in the mirror I realize I look like shit so I quickly pull my hair into a ponytail to hide its frizzyness.
"Tre, I think you should fix your hair." I mumble. He cranes his neck to see himself in the mirror then smooshes his hair into its usual faux-hawk.
"Better?"
"Uhh yeah." I say fixing the front a bit. "What's our cover story?"
"We don't need one."
"What if they ask?"
"They won't." he says rolling his eyes.
"But still?"
"I was nowhere to be found so you came back to look for me. I passed out on the sofa in the changing room because I was tired. Okay?" Tre says looking at me irritated.
"Okay." I say as we pull up to the Hilton.
Luckily no one's in the lobby yet, so Tre and I head into the hotel to get our stuff and change into a fresh set of clothes. My cell phone rings as I enter my room, I pull it out of my pocket and put to my ear.
"Yes brother dearest."
"Where are you?"
"Umm, I over-slept, sorry." I lie.
"Alright, I'm getting my own coffee then." he says casually.
"No, I'll be out in a minute. Besides, you have a press thing to be at and you can't be late." I hang up the phone and place it back in my pocket. So much for my hopes of getting a shower. I change shirt, fix my hair and make-up and head downstairs to get everyone's coffees. I find a coffee shop down the street and get everyone's usuals along with muffins to make up for the delay.
"Oh thank god!" Mike practically pounces me when he sees me with the coffee. I pass him his cup. Billie walks up to me a little slower with Tre not far behind.
"You're slacking off." Billie teases as he messes up my hair and takes his coffee.
"That's why I brought you guys muffins." I say holding up the paper bag.
"YAY!" Tre says as he snatches the bag from me.
"Don't you guys have to-"
"They're fixing the lighting, luckily." Mike says as he practically inhales his coffee. "Tre! Give me one of those!" Tre hisses at Mike jokingly then passes him one then Billie.
"This is just like kindergarten! Sharing and such." Tre says smiling cheesily.
As they finish up their coffees and muffins a girl with a clipboard comes up to us.
"Guys, they're ready for you."
"Right." Billie says rolling his neck. The guys hand me their empty coffee cups and napkins before following the clipboard lady. I manage to find a garbage can, and then make my way to watch the interview.
I sit in Mike's living room flipping through the newspaper looking for available apartments.
"How long do you plan on staying in Oakland this time?" Mike asks casually.
"I plan on staying a while, at least a year of escapade-free time. I got an awesome deejaying job at this club downtown so I'm all set, minus the apartment."
"Obviously." He snorts. I glare up at him then go back to reading the classifieds.
"Here's one. Downtown apartment, looking for a roommate, blah, blah, blah."
"A roommate?" Mike questions, "Are you sure that's what you want?"
"Yeah, maybe a roommate will be best, you know I'll be staying here for a year, maybe it's better if I don't always rely on a boyfriend for company."
"Yeah, I guess." Mike nods, "Just make sure your roommate isn't someone you plan on making your boyfriend."
"Yeah, yeah." I say shaking my head.
I drive downtown to the apartment complex and ring the specific room.
"Hello?" the intercom buzzes.
"Yeah, I'm here about the roommate add."
"Alright, come on up." Oh shit that was a guy's voice, this already going against Mike's advice. Maybe this guy is a super nerd. I head up to the apartment and a fit man opens the door.
"Hi, I'm Zack."
"I'm sorry, I can't be your roommate." I say about to turn away.
"Why not?"
"Because you're a guy and well I didn't want to be roommates with someone I'd most probably try to make my boyfriend."
"You can try all you want, but it won't happen." He says laughing. "I don't do women."
"You mean, you're gay?" I say with big eyes.
"Yup and proud." He smirks, "Would you care to be my roommate now?"
"Yeah, I guess."
We find ourselves in New York. Mike and I are left alone because Tre went off with Ramona and Billie was at the airport to get Adie and the boys. Brittney had to work and Stella's only coming in few days.
"Mikey, I'm bored." I say as I throw the Nerf ball I've been playing with at his head.
"Then go out and find yourself a boyfriend."
"Who says I don't already have one?"
"Who? A roadie? Guitar tech? Lighting tech?" he questions as he starts tossing the Nerf ball between his hands.
"D, none of the above."
"You're full of shit."
"That's why my eyes are so brown." I say smiling cheesily as he whips the Nerf ball at me. "Meanie!"
"Come on we're in New York, there's bound to be something, anything to do!"
"Coffee?"
"You already had two!"
"Umm, television?" I glare at him, "Well the only thing left is the Statue of Liberty!"
"Okay."
"I was being sarcastic!"
"So?"
"I've been there, you're not missing much!"
"Well I haven't been there and I'm bored, so you're coming with me."
"Just like old times." He mutters.
"Hey! Once your little sister, always your little sister." I taunt as I go to locate my shoes.
"Well I'm calling Tre up, see if he wants to come."
"He's spending the day with Ramona." Mike ignores me as he pulls out his cell phone.
"Hey man, Myla and I were just about to go see the Statue of Liberty... Yeah I know, she's just being the annoying little sister she's always been." He laughs, "So do you and Ramona want to meet us there?"
"You're the best-est brother ever!" I say in a childish voice just to bother Mike.
"You're damn right I am." He says putting his hand over the phone, "Yeah, okay so we'll meet you at the ticket booth or something? Kay, bye."
"They're actually coming?" I say in disbelief.
"Yeah, Ramona said it was better than going to another luncheon."
"Luncheon?"
"I swear that's what I heard her say!" Mike exclaims, "It's probably some inside joke between her and Tre."
"Yeah probably."
We leave the bus and walk down the street as Mike tries to hail a cab.
"Yay! Yellow cabs." I say poking at Mike, who just rolls his eyes.
"Aren't you childish today."
"Yes, yes I am." As a cab finally stops for us and we get in.
"Where to?" the guy with a heavy New Yorker accents demands.
"Statue of Liberty." Mike mumbles.
"Tourists huh?"
"No, just my sister."
"Showin her around town." The guy says as he turns a corner.
"Guess so."
"You don't look related." He grunts. "Could be all the hair dye." I let out a snort of laughter.
"What's wrong with his bleach blond hair?"
"I was talking about you." he says laughing. "I doubt you're a natural brunette."
"I am." He glares at me, "Just a lighter shade." Mike is just laughing into his hand.
"And you, are you covering up greys?" he asks Mike.
"Me? No, just like my hair like this."
"My son dyes his hair, makes him look like a pretty boy. Like a Backstreet Boy or something." I can't help but start laughing. "Well here we are."
"Thank you good sir." I say as I pay the man.
"Enjoy New York." He says content with the tip I left him.
"Where's Tre and-Oh there they are!" I say sort of giddy.
"Are you going to be like this all day?" Mike asks laughing.
"That's the plan." We walk over to where Tre and Ramona are standing.
"Hey." I say waving at the other two.
"Just to let you know Myla's been acting childish all day, so Ramona I brought you a friend." The little girl giggles.
"Mona, do you remember Myla?" Tre asks casually, knowing that we've only met once. She shakes her head.
"It's okay, I'm Myla, Mike's sister." She nods.
"Why do both your names start with M?" I laugh at this question.
"I don't know, that's just what are mom named us."
"Shouldn't we go bye ferry tickets or something?" Mike asks as he shifts his weight.
"Oh, we already got them." Tre says pulling four tickets out of his pocket.
"Have you ever been to New York before?" Ramona asks as we got onto the ferry.
"No, it's my first time here."
"So that's why you wanted to come to the Statue of Liberty." She says nodding, "I came here with my school."
"Was it fun?"
"This guy in my class, Markey, kept running around and knocking me and my friends over." I can't help but laugh. "What's so funny?"
"Your dad does that."
"Does what?" Tre asks looking at us. "What filth are you filling my daughter's head with." He hurries over and hugs her as if he were protecting her.
"That you tackle people at random."
"Not at random, I know the people I tackle." He sneers as his daughter giggles.
"Does anyone else have the munchies?" Mike asks randomly as the ferry is halfway to the statue.
"The munchies? Thought you stopped the pot." I tease.
"No seriously, I want donuts."
"What kind of donuts?" Tre says raising his eyebrows evilly.
"Ew Dad!" Ramona says disgusted.
"What? There's chocolate, jelly-filled, original."
"Dad! I'm not stupid I know what that means." Tre starts to turn red.
"How?"
"It was in Scary Movie 3." She whispers.
"And why were you watching that movie?"
"I went over to my friend Maureen's place and her older brother was watching it."
"She was bound to figure this stuff out eventually." Mike says to him. I can see Tre was in slight distress about his daughter growing up too fast and him not being there.
"So tell me more about The Statue of Liberty." I say to Ramona so Mike and Tre can hash things out.
"I don't know, it smells funny." I laugh, "When I went with my school we had to take the stairs because we were too many people to take the elevator."
"So do you want to take the elevator this time?" she nods. "Alright, that sounds fun, I don't want to have to climb up all those steps." The boat docks and people start filing out.
"Come on Ramona." Tre says putting his arm over her shoulders as they head out.
"So what's up with Tre?" I ask Mike as we follow behind them.
"You know, he's just having issues with being away from Ramona for so long."
"Guess it must be hard." I say as we step off the bus.
"You have no idea." Mike says we hurry to catch up with Tre and Ramona.
We all board the elevator along with a tourist couple.
"So Myla, what do you on tour?"
"I'm a gofer." She laughs, "Basically I get the guys coffee, snacks, and beer. I also make sure they're on schedule." She nods. "I just keep them as happy as possible." Tre smirks at me, luckily I'm the only one who notices.
"FAACHHOOOO!" The tourist man sneezes abruptly.
"I told you to rest today." The tourist woman lectures.
"Gladys, I'm fine! We're only in New York for a few days and I want to make- FAACHHOO! The most of it."
"At least cover your mouth."
"Cute couple." I whisper into Mike's ear causing him to chuckle.
"FAACHHOO!" Tre looks fairly uncomfortable standing so close to the tourist guy. Finally the elevator doors open and we practically run out.
"I got snot on my arm!" Tre says disgusted as he wipes his arm on a wall. "That's nasty, it's all lumpy."
"Ew, Tre we didn't need to know that." I mutter.
"No look!" he points at the wall, "It has a life of it's own." Ramona bursts out laughing.
"Stop analyzing snot." Mike says rolling his eyes as we go to check out the view.
After spending a while in the green lady's head we decide to head back to the city where Tre and Ramona take one cab and Mike and I take another. Tre and Ramona are going out for dinner before he takes her back to her mother's apartment. Mike and I are going back to the tour bus hoping that someone else is there.
We get to the tour bus to find Jason fiddling with his guitar.
"Where's everyone else?" Mike asks as he slumps down on the couch.
"Bill, Adie and the kids went for dinner." Jason mumbles. "I think Tre is still out with Ramona."
"Yeah." I mumble, "Let's go get some grub."
"Don't say grub." Jason says putting his guitar back in it's case, "Bad memories are attached to that word."
"Okay," I say weirded out. "Let's go get some dinner then."
"Yeah, okay." Mike says looking at his watch. "Where do you guys want to go?"
"I saw this restaurant down the street that looked pretty good." Jason says casually.
We head down the street for a quick supper before we head to the HSBC Arena.
"Where the hell is Tre?" Billie demands.
"I'm on it." I mumble as I pull out my cell phone and call him.
"Hey Myla."
"Tre, where the hell are you?"
"I just dropped off Ramona."
"Well hurry the hell up! Billie is freaking out."
"Tell him not to get his panties in a twist."
"What's he saying?" Billie demands.
"He says don't get your panties in a twist."
"Tell him he better be here in five minutes!"
"Just get your ass over here." I say as I hang up my phone. "Where's Adie?"
"She's at the hotel with the boys." Billie says as he gels his hair. "Where's my guitar?"
"Right behind you." I say in slight mockery. He rolls his eyes and starts playing random stuff as he walks out of the room.
"Look! Look! I'm here!" Tre exclaims as he walks into the room.
"About time." Mike mumbles. Tre goes into the attached room and gets dressed in his stage clothe.
"Hey umm, has anyone seen my hair gel?" he asks looking around.
"Uhh no." Mike mumbles.
"Myla?"
"Sorry, I haven't. Just use Billie's." Tre shakes his head.
"His gel isn't strong enough to stick my hair up like a cockatoo." He says crossing his arms.
"I'll just go and get you some then." I say rolling my eyes. "Just head down the practice room or Billie's going to freak."
I jog through the backstage hallways till I get to the exit. I cross the parking lot and find a pharmacy down the street. I take the bottle of hair gel and pay for it before running back to the Arena. As I get there I realize the opening band has already started playing. I run back stage and give Tre his hair gel.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you." Tre exclaims as he pours a glob onto his hand. "Now I'm perty."
"I'm sure you are." I mock.
When the guys go on stage I head down to where the Green Day merchandise stands are and buy myself an American Idiot shirt. I head to the tour bus in order to execute my new found plan. I put on my knee high red and black socks with my army green skirt and of course my new Green Day shirt. This is going to be fun. A couple of hours later the guys parade off stage like they usually do and I stand there with a six pack in my hand. They each take one and take a few gulps before they realize how I'm dressed.
"What the hell Myla?" Mike asks laughing.
"I'm the ultimate Green Day fan!" I exclaim happily.
"I'm sure you are." Tre says raising his eyebrows.
"I think she's a poser." Billie says crossing his arms. "That's right I said it, a poser."
"I'm hurt." I say laughing. "I'm so cute."
"I say we go party!" Mike exclaims.
"Not me." Billie says shaking his head.
"Hey Jason! Are you with us?"
"Yeah okay." He yells as they all walk to the changing room leaving me off stage with the busy techs. I pull out my cell phone and call for a taxi to come pick us up.
"Let's go to a strip club." Mike says as we all get into the cab, "Wait if we go to a strip club Myla can't come." I sneer at him.
"Oh yes she can." Tre says putting his arms over my shoulders.
"Yeah." Jason says laughing as well.
"Dude! She's my sister."
"I know." Tre says evilly.
"Argh! Please don't make me picture stuff!" he groans putting his head in his hands.
"Take us to the club on 5th." Tre says to the driver.
"You're all really, really mean." Mike pouts.
"No, just perverted." Jason says winking cheesily.
"First rounds on me if you guys stop undressing Myla with your eyes."
"Who said we were undressing her?" Jason asks innocently.
"That's doesn't sound like a bad idea does it Jason?"
"Not at all."
"What about not objectifying me?"
"Okay." Tre and Jason groan in fake sadness.
"You! Get us some beer!" Tre yells at a waiter after being ignored by the club's staff for a good ten minutes.
"Service here sucks." I mutter.
"You! I see you! Get us some beer!" Tre yells again causing all of us to laugh.
"You know what, I'll just go to the bar and get the beer myself." Mike says getting up.
"No, I want to watch Tre harass more employees." Jason says laughing.
"No it's okay, I'm starting to lose my voice." Tre says waving Mike away.
Mike returns several minutes later with four beer bottles.
"Bar tender is a twit." He mutters as he hands us our beers.
"Yeah Tre, what kind of place is this?" I ask.
"It was good last time!" Tre pouts. We finish off our beers then decide it would be best to leave.
"My throat is bothering me." I mumble as Jason starts jumping around to hail a cab.
"Mine too." Mike says clearing his throat.
"Same." Tre croaks, his voice started to crack.
"I'm perfectly fine." Jason says as he finally gets a cab to stop.
"I need a good fucking." Tre says randomly during the cab ride to the hotel.
"Thank you for sharing that, does anyone else have something to share?" Mike asks cheesily.
"I'm up for a good fucking too." Jason says I snort with laughter. "I think Myla is up for one too."
"What did I say before about putting images in my head!" Mike yelps.
"What about you Mike, are you up for a fucking?" Tre asks laughing. "We can bunk together."
"Yeah, I think I'll be lonely." Mike says laughing. The taxi driver seems to be utterly disturbed.
We get to the hotel and take the elevator up to the top floor where we all go our separate ways. Once I see Jason and Mike are safely in their rooms I run to Tre's room.
"I knew you'd come." He hisses into my ear. "Do you think Jason is going to join us?"
"Nope." I say as I shut the door with my foot. I wrap my arms around his neck and start mauling at his lips.
"Vicious tonight?" I laugh as I start unbuttoning his shirt. His hands move freely under my shirt in attempts to unclasp my bra. I remove his shirt then move onto his pants. Tre pushed me onto the bed with the force of his lips against mine.
His hand moves up my thigh then down again removing my right sock then he does the same with my left.
"Stop teasing." I say pressing my lips against his. He shrugs and his hands move up my skirt to pull down my underwear. "You're still teasing." He shakes his head.
"This is teasing." He whispers as his finger moves farther up my skirt, I let out a moan.
"Damn you." I say pushing his shoulders as I wiggle out of my skirt. His hands move up to remove my shirt then my bra. I pull his face onto mine into an intense kiss. His lips move down my chin, down my neck, down my chest to my belly button where he stops when I let out a giggle. I can feel him smiling against my skin. "Stop teasing." I say pulling him up to my level.
"Alright." He says as he starts moving against me, my legs intertwining with his as my hands move down his back.
"Wake up Myla." An unfamiliar voice says shaking me awake.
"What?" I say squinting opening my eyes. My sinuses are stinging, they feel like they're going to explode, "Tre what's wrong with your voice?"
"I have a sore throat." He whispers. "I think it's the phlegm guy from the elevator."
"Yeah, my sinuses are killing me."
"Regardless, unless you want our cover blown, you have to go." I moan as I roll out of bed.
"I feel like shit." I mumble as I put my clothes on, "Argh, today's such a busy day on top of it."
"Believe me, I feel just as shitty as you." his raspy voice manages to say.
"See you at breakfast." I say as I head out of the room.
"I don't think I'll make it."
I get back to my room and take a long steamy shower in attempts to clear my aching sinuses. I get dressed and dry my hair before heading down to the hotel restaurant, with a pocket full of tissue. I run into Mike in the hallway who has a red nose.
"You sick too?" I ask as we head to the elevator.
"Uh uh."
"So is Tre, he uhh called me this morning saying he probably wouldn't make to breakfast."
"Argh, I'm going to talk to the P. R. Person, see if he can postpone the show."
"That bad huh?"
"Yeah, no way in hell I can sing back up or keep a continuous bass line." He sneezes loudly, "And by the sounds of it Tre isn't much better off."
"Mikey, can I take the day off?" I say as the elevator doors open and we step into the lobby.
"Tell you what, if the concert tonight gets postponed then you can vegetate."
"Alrighty then."
"Mike, Myla, you guys look like shit." Billie says looking us over as we arrive at the breakfast table.
"Yesterday we got stuck in an elevator with a guy with a cold." Mike says rubbing his forehead.
"Maybe you should postpone tonight's show." Adie suggests.
"Mike, your face is all red!" Joey points out.
"Nice kid you got there." Mike teases.
"I'll call the P. R. Person, what's his name Gary?"
"Yeah I think so." I say pulling out a tissue.
"You guys should really get some rest." Adie says in a worried tone.
"Yeah, I'm going back upstairs, I'll just order room service." I mumble as I stand up from the table.
"Me too, don't want to get you guys sick too."
"Yeah okay, I'll keep you updated on the show thing." Billie says as he holds his cell phone to his ear.
Mike and I take the elevator back up to our floor.
"Myla, where are you going? Isn't that your room?" Mike asks pointing at a door in the opposite direction.
"I was going to Tre's room."
"Why?"
"To let him know what's happening." I say pointing at his door, "Besides, misery loves company." Mike let's out a raspy laugh.
"Maybe I'll join you guys." Mike says following behind me. I knock on the door and one long minute later Tre opens it.
"Hey guys, I see you're sick too." He says as he let's us in.
"In Myla's words, misery loves company." Mike says as he sits down on the couch.
"I guess this is quarantine."
We need food." Tre moans as he sits with Mike. "Myla you're the gofer." I roll my eyes as I make my way to the phone.
"Room service."
"Yes this is room 715, we'd like three coffees and three orders of toast."
"And cocoa puffs!" Tre says raising his hand.
"And cocoa puffs."
"Would you like anything else?"
"Is cold medicine possible?"
"Yes ma'am."
"Oh and some extra blankets and pillows."
"Alright, we'll send your request right up."
"Thank you." I say hanging up the phone.
"I'm going back to my room for a minute." I say heading out the door. I make my way into my room and change into pajama pants, no way I'm staying in constricting clothes when I'm sick. I get back to Tre's room and sit on the couch with the guys.
"We ordered a movie." Tre says happily.
"Which one?"
"13 Ghosts." Mike says shifting his weight.
"Lovely." A knocking is heard from the door.
"Room service!"
"You get it." I say nudging Mike.
"Nuh uh." Tre rolls his eyes.
"Come in!" the lock clicks and a hotel employee makes his way into the room. "Bring the trolley as close to us as possible."
"Yes sir." The employee says stopping the trolley right in front of us. And here are the pillows and blankets you requested.
"Thanks." I say as he hands me the stack of fluffy. I take a pillow and blanket for myself and pass the rest along.
Minutes later, the movie starts up and the three of us are bundled up in blankets, stuffing our faces watching the goriest movie on the hotel's film list.
"See bloody tits just aren't attractive." Tre says shaking his head at the suicidal ghost. "I like 'em sweaty."
"You would." I sneer as Mike just rolls his eyes. There knocking from the door again.
"Who is it?" Mike calls out.
"Dolly Parten."
"Hey Bill, just let yourself in." Tre calls out.
"Door's locked." Mike and Tre both turn to me with big eyes.
"I got up to order the food." I say crossing my arms.
"I answered the door last time." Tre pouts.
"You're just a lazy fucker." Mike mumbles as he gets up and heads to the door.
"Took you long enough." Billie says in mockery as he enters the room. Mike returns to his respected place on the couch.
"Hey, I'm sick." Mike pouts.
"Anyway, I talked to Gary and the next two shows are being postponed so you have nothing to worry about. Just get better."
"Alright." Tre says nodding as the theme song to the Power Puff Girls starts up. "Bill, can you get my cell phone." Billie Joe raises his eyebrows in slight mockery as he picks up the phone off the side table and passes it to Tre.
"Power Puff Girls?" he questions.
"I let Ramona choose her ring." He says as he puts the phone to his ear. "Hey kiddo.. I'm sick as a dog... I can barely move from the sofa, are you sick... Lucky... No I'm still taking you touring with me... We got the next two shows postponed... Thanks... But I don't wanna... Fine... But you know that stuff is nasty... Alright I'll talk to you later." He hangs up the phone and tosses it onto the coffee table.
"What was that about?" I ask amused.
"She told me to eat chicken soup and drink lots of tea."
"Well, I should get going; I don't want to catch your cold." Billie says as he heads to the door. "Need anything else?"
"A really hot nurse!" Tre calls out, I slap his arm. "Hey."
"Perv."
"Shh, don't tell anyone." I just hear Billie laughing as the door shuts behind him.
