When the Sun shines but you're left in the cold., chapter 2
"Well, uh, you see, your Dad got my mum pregnant." Lucy just stood there with her mouth agape; she couldn't believe what she was hearing. She looked into Jason's deep brown eyes and could tell he wasn't lying.
"Did he tell you about me?" Lucy asked.
"Yeah he always said you were his little brown haired, green eyed angel and that it was so unfair that your mum stole you away from him."
"What?!" she shouted, "He hit me and my mum before deciding to clear off and never come back until now."
"Really? Huh he never mentioned it," Jason replied with a puzzled look on his face.
Lucy wiped the blood off her knee and started walking down the road.
"Where are you going?" Jason asked.
"I don't know, I can't go home," Lucy answered.
"Well I'll come with you, it's dangerous at nights you know."
"If you really want to."
They started walking down the road and didn't speak a word until they reached the city outskirts.
"Jay, where are we supposed to go?" Lucy asked.
"It's okay my big brother Baz has a gang in the city so we can hang around with them," Jason replied.
"But what if they don't want us?"
"Baz told me he'd do anything for me and even if he changed his mind I have this," Jason smirked holding up an I.O.U.
"Why does he owe you?" Lucy queried.
"He set fire to all my socks."
"The made it into the city centre just as it was getting dark.
"Where do we go now?" asked Lucy.
"Right there," Jason pointed out and started running, "Come on."
They both started running as fast as their little legs would carry them.
"Did he tell you about me?" Lucy asked.
