What the Fuck? Why didn't mom tell me?, chapter 3
"Shit!" I said turning to put my phone back in my purse.
"What happened?" Tre asked
"I fuckin' got cut off, what if my friend, well she's my cousin too, got hurt? I don't care if that jackass died or not but Ash is my best friend I don't know what I'll do if she's gone."
"I'm sorry, I really wish I could do something, but I can't and that's the way that it's gonna have to be. Wow that sounded really cruel."
"Yeah okay, who's you best friend ever, like you guys do everything together."
"Mike and Billie Joe."
"Okay what if they died, what if they died and your ex survived how would you feel."
We arrived at the hospital before I got an answer. I ran out of car, into the hospital, and asked where, Ashley Havens was.
"Ashley Havens, let me look," Said the nurse behind the counter, "Oh, Ashley Havens went into surgery a few hours ago. I can't say for sure but I think they said she didn't make it, if you want you can go to the OR waiting room on the fourth floor her mother is up there along with a Mary Thompson mother of David Thompson."
"Thanks" I replied to her rushing to the elevator followed by Tre; waiting to get to the fourth floor to see Mrs. Thompson and Aunt Jessica, I'm named after her.
I walked into the OR waiting room and only saw my aunt.
"Hey, what happened, where's Mrs. Thompson?" I asked my aunt.
"Who-how-Did your mother finally tell you about him?" My aunt asked looking at Tre.
"Um not quite but that doesn't matter right not, how's Ash?"
"She had a fatal allergic reaction to the drug they gave her for her surgery, they tried to save her but they couldn't do much for her."
"You mean Ash is gone?"
"Yeah can you believe my little girl's gone and I didn't even get a chance to say goodbye."
I couldn't believe it Ash couldn't die she promised me that if she died she'd say goodbye to me any way she could she can't be dead. Then my eye caught something in the corner of the waiting room. It was Ashley waving to me slowly and sadly. I couldn't help but fall back into Tre and cry making a large wet spot on the chest of his shirt. I thought to myself, goodbye Ash, I'll miss you .
The rest of the way to the airport was silent I keep running memories of Ash through my mind I had talked to her this morning, now she was gone. The view of the west coast came through the window hours later but even though it was scorching hot outside, I still felt cold even when Tre opened his doors and said "Welcome-home?"
Something tells me this isn't how he left his house.
