A 'Tre Cool' Love Story, chapter 3
The bell had rung for lunch. The whole math class just bolted out of the classroom. Sarah and Tré were among them, but Tré went off on his own so Sarah was by herself. She went to put her math stuff away and then went to the cafeteria.
"Hey Sarah, come in front of me!" Roxanne yelled as she queued up at the cafeteria line. She gave Sarah a tray.
"Thanks Roxanne, you don't have to do this for me," Sarah said really happily that she had made a new friend.
"It's ok; call me Roxy and what are friends for? And since you're Jimmy's sister, I'll treat you extra special!" Roxy said really nicely.
"What so special about Jimmy?" she asked curiously not getting the picture.
"You don't get it do you? I'm Jimmy's girlfriend!"
"Really? He never talks about you."
"Yeah probably can't 'coz of that jerk you're mom married. He's so strict."
"Yeah he is." Sarah and Roxy got food and went to sit at the table where she saw her brother.
"Hey gorgeous," he said to Roxy giving her a kiss. "Hey Ringo, how is my terrible twin going?"
"I'm great," Sarah replied happily.
"Hey, Jimmy why do you call your sis Ringo?" Jordana asked as she sat down. She was with a guy who hard dark hair like hers and green eyes.
"I dunno just made up the name when I was young," Jimmy replied shrugging his shoulders. "So Billie, are you and guys playing down at Gilman tonight?"
"Sure am!" the boy with the dark hair, green eyes replied. Sarah presumed that was Billie. "So Jimmy, how come we don't hear a lot about your sister?"
"Well, I dunno. I guess we don't really talk much about our families," Jimmy said a bit weakly. Deep inside, he felt so alone because he had no mom or dad anymore. He couldn't really call Danny his dad because he never acted like one.
"You ok Jim?" a voice said. It was Tré. He had a goofy smile on his face. Sarah looked at Tré and noticed his blue eyes. They were very sharp and Sarah was mesmerized by them. She had never seen eyes so blue in all her life.
"Yeah man I'm fine. Are you playing down at Gilman tonight?" Jimmy finally said.
"Yep, me and the guys from The Lookouts. Are you coming down?" Jimmy nodded. "Hey and bring Sarah with you, she might like Gilman Street."
"What's Gilman Street?" Sarah asked a bit confused.
"They play music down there. Mostly rock and shit like that," Jordana said. "You'll love it, trust me."
"Hey babe, wanna skip next class?" Billie asked Jordana who nodded and kissed him on the cheek.
"Why don't you two get a room! People are trying to eat here!" a blonde cheerleader yelled from the table behind them.
"Ok Lauren, what the fuck is your problem, bitch? Huh?! I can do whatever the fuck I want so back off!" Jordana yelled at the Lauren who got up and left the cafeteria. She came back with the principal.
"Excuse me Jordana Thomas, may I have a word with you outside?" the principal, Jordana and Lauren left the cafeteria.
"Five bucks she gets a detention for two weeks," Tré said putting $5 in the air.
"Ten bucks she gets a warning," a tall guy walked in.
"Yeah right Mike! She'll never get a warning, she does a lot of bad stuff," Billie said laughing at his best friend Mike. "Five bucks that she has to work in the cafeteria for a month."
"No way!" another boy sat down at the table. "Ten bucks she has to scrub the toilets."
"John that's disgusting," Roxy said to John.
"Jimmy, Sarah you gonna make a bet?" Tré asked them. They both shook their heads. "Your loss, my gain." Tré rubbed his hands greedily.
Jordana came back. She had a really angry look on her face.
"So what's the punishment?" Tré asked waiting for the answer that she would have detention for two weeks.
"Um... I only got a warning," Jordana said calmly. She hated school.
"Yes!!! I won $30!!" Mike was so happy. The bell rang and Mike was paid.
The rest of the school day was great. Jordana didn't get into any more trouble and Sarah had made a good group of friends. They all walked home after school and planned to meet at Billie's house at 8pm to go to Gilman. Sarah and Jimmy had to sneak out that night and both hoped that they wouldn't get caught. Jimmy had done it several times before, so it wouldn't be hard this time... or will it?
