A 'Tre Cool' Love Story, chapter 6
"Sarah, wake up its nearly time for school," Jimmy yelled in his sister's ear. He was already ready for school. "Tré said that he would meet us outside our house." Sarah got up quickly to the thought of seeing Tré waiting outside by himself. "I knew that would work," Jimmy said with a cheeky grin.
"But he is, isn't he?" Sarah said taking her brother seriously.
"Yeah, so you better hurry up!" Jimmy said pushing Sarah into her room so she could get ready for school. She quickly got changed and then raced Jimmy downstairs. There were beer bottles everywhere and there was no sign of Danny. They could hear yelling coming from the kitchen. Sarah and Jimmy ran to the kitchen.
"Danny, where's the baby?" it was Aunt Victoria.
"Hehehe, I put him up for adoption," Danny said with a sly but slurry voice. "I can't possibly look after a set of twins and a baby at the same time. I can't trust you after you let those two go off somewhere on a school night," he said pointing to Sarah and Jimmy.
"You can trust me and besides they're teens so let them do what teens wanna do," Victoria said defensively.
"No, I can't trust you," he said angrily and pulled a knife out of the drawer.
"What are you doing?" Victoria screamed but before she could stop him, Danny stabbed her in the chest. She fell to the ground and blood poured everywhere. Sarah screamed, but Jimmy just took her hand and ran outside with her.
"Hello twinnies!" Tré said happily.
"Tré, can you help us run away from Danny?" Jimmy asked a little out of breath.
"Yeah, why? Are you two in deep shit?" he replied and started running towards his house with Danny and Sarah.
"No Danny just killed Aunt Victoria and he's probably after us now!" Sarah yelled.
"Holy fuck," Tré replied really shocked. He ran inside to get his dad, who got his car keys. They all piled into Tré's dad's car and sped off down the street. Sarah looked out the back window to see if Danny was going to chase after them, but he collapsed in the middle of the street. Sarah gasped which made Jimmy turn to see what she was looking at.
"Danny probably cut himself or something because he probably knows that what he just did was bad," Jimmy said. "Where are we gonna stay? Are we gonna go and try to find Benjamin?"
"He you two can stay with us," Tré's dad said.
"Thanks Mr. Wright," Jimmy said. "But do you think that you could help us find Benjamin?"
"Yeah, just call me Frank, but where do you think little Benji could be?" Frank said keeping his eyes on the road.
"Well Danny said he put Benjamin up for adoption so we could try and orphanage or some place like that," Sarah said worried about Benjamin, or Benji sounded better. Benji was only her half brother, but he was only a baby.
"You three can skip school today because this is an emergency sort of situation," Frank said as they arrived at an orphanage.
They went up to the lady at the front desk.
"Hello um... we're just wondering if a baby boy was dropped off here some time earlier this morning?" Sarah asked.
"Yes actually there was a baby boy dropped off this morning, but it was also adopted this morning," the lady said. "He was such an adorable baby and the couple that came to pick him up were a really a cute couple."
"Do you think you can tell me who these people are?" Sarah asked feeling really nervous.
"No sorry. Everything here is confidential," the lady said. Everyone in the room had a sad look on her face. "Well you probably can't find them anyway because they were on there way out of town. They only stopped by to pick up a baby boy, sign the papers and head out of town, but as I said before everything here is confidential, I can't exactly tell you where they went."
"Just a name or something please?" Jimmy pleaded.
"No sorry," the lady said politely.
The four of them walked out of the orphanage.
"She wasn't much help," Tré said and gave Sarah a hug. She really needed one.
"So what are we going to do now?" Sarah asked everyone.
"Well, how about we go back to your place and get all of your stuff and if Danny's there I'll try to keep him away," Frank replied.
"Well I think the ladder is still up under my window so Sarah and I could sneak in," Jimmy said. They all got into the car and then drove back to Sarah and Jimmy's house...
