Wide open Spaces, chapter 2
"And the world spreads its legs.... THE WORLD SPREADS ITS LEGS FOR ANOTHER FUCKIN' STAR! Cause I AM the all-american Antichrist!"
Bryony and Yazy sung at the top of their voices, singing along to the song on T.V.
"BABY WAS A BLACK SHEEP, BABY WAS A WHORE!"
Sydney walked in through the bedroom door, annoyed at the disturbence. She sighed, watching the two overexcited girls argue over which channel they should watch next. Finally, after realising they weren't aware she was there, she walked out and slammed the door.
11:43 the clock read. Thats 11:43 at night. Sydney let out another small sigh as Bryony's voice boomed across the house yet again. Her thoughts raced back to earlier that day.
"Your homeless?" Billie's eyes sparkled, seeing something in Sydney he hadnt seen before.
"Yes." she replied, watching him curiousy. He looked her in the eye, then turned away quickly. A smile spread accross Sydneys face, she looked away, trying to control herself. Billie cocked an eyebrow in confusion.
"Sorry.." she giggled.
"Whats so funny?!" Billie began, getting annoyed.
"Nothing, nothing. Oh, nevermind."
The large cowboy hat cast a dark shadow over Sydneys face, making her look very mysterious, and leaving Billie wanting to know just that little bit more.
"Sydney.... SYDNEYYYY? IS THAT YOU?"
Both Billie and Sydney looked over to the sudden disturbence, spotting a short, blonde-haired woman jumping up and down shouting, she smiled to herself. Sydney ran off towards the girl, expecting Billie to follow her.
"BRY! I havnt seen you in YEARS!" she screached in excitment. Bryony embraced her in a large hug, twirling around in circles.
"Wow, you look amazing!" Sydney exlaimed, stepping back to admire her friend.
"Thanks, you dont look too bad yourself! What are you doing here?"
"I wanted a new start, I had no idea you were here! Would it be okay if I stayed at yours for a while? Just while I get things sorted.
"SURE! I'd love the company! Its just me and Yazy right now, and we often get lonely."
"Thanks!"
"Who was that guy you were with?"
"This," Sydney started, "is Billie." Bryony looked confused.
Sydney turned around, expecting to see Billie there. He wasnt. She looked out into the sunset, all that was left were empty, hollow fields.
