My Rock and Roll Best Friend, chapter 1
"Hey guys!" I walked into my new classroom on the first day of school.
"Hey, Ellen" my best friend Rachel said. I had a group of 5 friends and me, Rachel, Jimmy, Lewis, Pete, Chelsea, and me Ellen. We were the punks.
"Everybody to your seats!" yelled our new 10th grade teacher Miss. Hurley, the overly happy single teacher, she was the 9th grade teacher last year and I had her. She started talking about new sports and cheerleading and all that shit when a boy walked in, he looked super punk and super hot. But, I recognized him from somewhere. He handed the teacher a little yellow piece of paper. Miss. Hurley read it like 5 times and finally said, "This is our newest student here at Jumper High, Joseph Armstrong."
My heart sank, that's where I recognized him, HE WAS BILLIE JOE ARMSTRONG'S SON! Me and Chelsea WORSHIPED Billie Joe, and now his son was in my class! Oh my god, I couldn't believe it.
Since he was new he had a choice of a seat, so I told Rachel to move over with Lewis so there was an open chair, "Move over by Lewis!" I whispered.
"Fine but you owe me!" She replied in a whisper I could barely make out.
"Hell yeah!" I replied back. Joseph started walking toward the back were I was sitting. My heart started pounding really, really, really, fast. I looked down a little. 'Plop' I heard faintly. I looked up, there was the hottest guy sitting next to me. I almost fainted! "Oh thank you lord!" I prayed in my head. I bit my lip, and turned around to Rachel and Lewis, Rachel gave me a "Lucky you" look.
"Hi," I said to Joseph "I'm Ellen"
"Nice to meet you Ellen." He replied. Then he saw my shirt. It had a Green Day logo on it. He suddenly got a faint look of panic on his face.
I instantly understood why. "Oh, yeah, my shirt, don't worry I won't turn all fan girl on your dad." I said coolly.
"Oh, good," a look of relief came onto his face, "That usually happens when I-" he was cut off
"Ellen and Joseph! Stop talking! It's the first day of school and your already ignoring me Ellen? Do you want to see Mr. Bartlett on the first day of school? Joseph you get a warning because you're new. Not another word!" She finally finished and went back to reading the announcements, when she turned around me and Joseph burst out laughing softly. I had a feeling Joseph was gonna become a good friend.
"RRRRRRRIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG!!!!!" The bell sounded. Me and my friend rushed out of the classroom, I invited Joseph to hang with us the rest of the day. "What do you guys have next?" Jimmy asked, everyone suddenly pulled out a schedule with our class times and teachers.
"Science" said Chelsea
"Math" said Jimmy
"Bio" said Rachel
"History" answered Lewis
"PE" I said
"PE, too" said Joseph
"Awesome!" I said to Joseph "We have PE together! That will make the pain go away!"
"Lucky slut!" Lewis joked back
"When's your free period?" I asked to everyone
"5th period"
"5th period"
"Me too"
"Same here"
"So do I"
"I do too"
"Awesome! I have my free period with my friends! That barely ever happens!" I thought to myself. "I got to go get my books from the locker of doom, 113, so unlucky!" I said.
"My locker is 145, so were kinda close" said Rachel trying to cheer me up.
"Cool, walk with me?" I asked.
"Sure!" she replied
"You come to Joseph, I'll help you with your locker." I said to him.
"Ok!" he said back. We walked to the other side of the school and found my locker. I opened my locker and Joseph's jaw dropped, to see a ton of Green Day posters hanging in my locker, I only noticed when I shut my locker door and he said "Your obsessed aren't you?"
"What?"
"The posters!"
"Oh, that, kinda,"
"Kinda?" Rachel had to put her two cents in "Your like the biggest fan ever! Kinda? Yeah right!"
I blushed, "Ok, yeah I'm obsessed, but it's not everyday that Billie's son comes into your school. So I wasn't expecting the visit!"
"True!" He said back.
RRRRIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGG
"Oh, crap, the bell! We have to get to PE!" I said loudly.
Rachel ran down the hall "Bye Guys!" she yelled.
Me and Joseph ran down to the gym. "Of course the gym is down the stairs on the other side of the school." I said.
We turned a corner, "Where do you think your going?" we heard behind us. I turned around. I knew that voice. "I think it says in the rulebook no running in the halls." It was the dumb ass hall monitor, Chase. He was way to into his job, and it was only the first day of school. "I think you-"
I cut him off "Can't you let us slip today? Please! I have to get to PE. I swear I won't run again." I said as nice as I could.
"Fine, you can go but only because we have a new student." He said glaring at me "Now get to class." We started to walk down the hall again.
I looked back, "5... 4... 3... 2... 1... run!" I whispered and we started running down the hall again. "Come on... come on... " I thought, "Finally were here!" I said and ran into the gym.
