A Secret Relationship, chapter 2
"Had a good time last night?" Mike said winking at Ali. He was sitting at the kitchen table. Ali sat down next to him.
"Yeah, I guess," Ali said a little unsure where the conversation was heading.
"Hey guess what?" Mike said a bit cheery.
"What?" Ali had no idea what he was on about.
"I met someone last night," Mike said. This was the first time Mike and she had a decent conversation.
"Really? So who's the lucky girl?" Ali said giving him a smile.
"Her name is Anastasia and we're going out tonight," Mike said proudly.
"Well good for you. It's about time you went out and had some fun," Ali said getting up to get a cup of coffee. "You want a coffee?"
"Yes please! You know how I feel about coffee," Mike said winking.
"Yep I know," Ali said. Mike loved coffee. Everywhere he went he would always get a coffee, if he could. Ali poured him a coffee.
"Hey can I have a cup too?" it was Billie. He sat down and ran his fingers through his hair.
"Please?" Ali said trying to get Billie to use some manners.
"PLEASE Ali?!" Billie said with puppy dog eyes. Ali couldn't say no to him. She handed Mike and Billie their cups and got hers and sat down next to Billie.
"Where's Mr. Cool?" Billie asked.
"Don't know, he's probably at Lisea's," Mike said. "They probably did what you guys did last night." Mike chuckled. Ali and Billie looked at each other then all three of them started laughing.
"What are we laughing at?" Ali said confused.
"Don't worry about it," Billie said and gave Ali a kiss on her cheek.
"Mike met someone special last night," Ali finally said and Billie gave the 'oh really' look to Mike. "Her name is Anastasia; well that's what Mike said."
"Yeah that's her name," Mike said. "Well I better head off. I got a couple of classes today. See ya guys later." Mike walked out of the house. He wanted to keep going with his schooling just in case if Green Day didn't make it big. Unlike their previous drummer, John Kriftmeyer, Mike would never leave.
"Well, it's just you and me again unless if you have something to do today," Billie said to Ali.
"Um... I don't-," at that moment the phone rang. Ali got up to get it. She had quite a long conversation with the person she was talking to. Billie got a little impatient so he went outside for a walk. When he came back Ali, had already gotten off the phone and was making pancakes.
"So who was on the phone?" Billie asked, taking a seat at the table.
"My best friend, Adrienne, she's coming to town from Minneapolis," Ali said happily, sitting down next to Billie. It had been a long time since Ali had seen Adrienne. Ali used to live in Minneapolis but had to move away because her father had work in Berkeley. "I'm so excited and I can't wait until you meet her."
"Yeah I can't wait to meet her," Billie said sharing her happiness. "So when will she arrive?"
"She'll be here tomorrow and she asked me to pick her up from the airport. Is that ok with you?" Ali asked Billie.
"Yeah of course it's ok. Does she have a place to stay?"
"Yeah she's gonna live in one of those apartments that we were originally gonna rent out."
"You know, I liked those apartments. They were great. Only thing is that Mike and Tré wanted to live in the same place." Billie looked a little upset. "So she's living here?"
"Yeah, she's going to Berkeley University. You guys have to stick together. It would be difficult if you lived in different places," Ali replied trying her best to cheer Billie up.
"Yeah I guess, hey is it me or is something burning?" Billie said sniffing the air.
"Shit! The pancakes!" Ali ran over to the stove where the pancakes were burning. She turned off the stove and tried to get the pancake out. Lucky she had already made a few.
"Why did you cook pancakes?" Billie asked as he put cream on his pancakes.
"When you left, I had almost finished my conversation with Adie. Since you weren't back, I got bored and felt like making something for you," said Ali taking a seat at the table.
"Oh ok thanks. They're delicious!" Billie said and started eating.
They stayed home all day and talked. Ali told Billie all about her best friend Adrienne. She talked about all the stuff they did and even told him that her nickname was Adie. The day had gone by really quickly because when Mike came home, it was 5pm. He didn't stay long because he had a date with Anastasia. By 5:30pm he had left. Then Tré came home with Lisea.
"Where did Mike just go?" Tré asked.
"On a date with Anastasia, his new girlfriend," Ali said.
"Finally! Mike might get laid tonight!" Tré said happy for his friend.
"I highly doubt it," Ali said. "He only met her last night."
"So? Lisea and I did it the night we met," Tré said proudly.
"No we didn't," Lisea said hitting Tré's arm. "He wanted to do it that night but I wasn't ready yet. Well, duh, we just met!"
"Yeah and good thing I met you cause you make my life complete!" Tré said romantically.
"You just said that so I would have sex with you," Lisea said but like the sound of it so she dragged Tré upstairs to his room.
"Lisea should move in so that Tré doesn't have to go to the other side of town to see her," Ali commented.
"Yeah she should. Hey do want to go do something? We've just been talking all day, so let's do something," Billie asked.
"What should we do then?" Ali asked, not getting Billie's idea.
"Do what they're doing," Billie pointed up to the ceiling, even though it probably wasn't where they were.
"Ok but I'm hungry. We have to eat first," Ali said rubbing her stomach.
"I'll take you out to dinner then," Billie said getting up to grab his wallet and car keys...
"Yeah, I guess," Ali said a little unsure where the conversation was heading.
