Serendipity Girl, chapter 12
*A few months later*
I find myself making out with Joey on the couch in the "band practice room." We're really getting into it, groping each other and such.
"Urgh!" we hear someone say in disgust. I roll off of Joey to see Jay standing there with Kad. "Don't you have a room?"
"We're not aloud there together," I say as I sit up and Joey stands up and heads over to where his guitar is lying.
"For good reason." Kad laughs as she takes a seat next to me.
Suddenly there's a knocking from the window I look up at it to see Mark standing there smirking.
"Rock, paper, scissors?" Joey asks knowing one of them would have to get the door.
"You're so immature," Jay says rolling his eyes, "Fine."
"Rock, paper, scissors!" the two seventeen year olds chant. Joey presents scissors and Jay presents a rock.
"Fuck." Joey whines as he stomps out of the room.
"And band practice begins!" Mark yelps as he runs in. Luke quit the band earlier this month, he just lost interest. Kad and I watch and listen to them intently for the entire band practice.
"Gotta go!" Mark exclaims catching glimpse of his watch, he staggers out of the room and seconds later we hear the front door slam shut.
Jakob enters the room casually, "Pizzas here." He announces. All of us teenagers head up stairs into the kitchen.
"Holly! Holly! No, listen to me!" Billie Joe exclaims as he hops around with the phone to his ear, "Holly!" he whines childishly, "The week after Christmas, no I couldn't get it for that day... I don't have those sort of connections, gah! You suck! Okay well I'll talk to you later." He hangs up the phone as us teenagers make our way to the pizza boxes with our plates.
"What was that all about?" Joey asks as we make our way into the dining room with our food.
"Well." Billie says glancing at Adie. "The week after Christmas we were thinking of driving north for a snowboarding trip."
"Cool," Jakob exclaims as he stuffs his face.
"Kad and Anna you're more than welcome to come," Adie adds in, my eyes bulge.
"Really?" I say in disbelief.
"Can Jenna come?" Jakob asks eagerly.
"Nope." Billie says poking at some unknown item on his pizza.
"Why not?!"
"Because Joey wasn't aloud to bring his girlfriends along at your age, besides I highly doubt Jenna's parents would let her guy." We all laugh because its common knowledge that Jenna's parents are wound tighter than the pope.
"But according to recent studies teenagers their age are more likely to be sexually active."
"Well that's why Jay and Joey will be staying in one room and Anna and Kad in another."
"What about me?" Jakob pouts.
"You'll be staying with your brother and well your cousin Riley will be with the girls too."
"Awe c'mon, can't you trust us?" Joey exclaims, Jay nods.
"Don't push your luck." Billie warns. I laugh.
"Well its okay guys, I'll probably stay with my... dad," Jay says uneasily. "Being Christmas and all."
Billie scratches at his neck uneasily, Jay's home life was taboo. "We'll see how things go, but it's the week after Christmas so we're still bringing you along," Jay nods as he goes back to eating his slice of pepperoni.
"So how's Rebel Tuesdays going?" Adie asks in order to change the subject.
"I dunno." Joey whines, "We've kind of gone downhill since Luke dropped out."
"Are you still going to do the school show?" Billie asks muffled because of the amount of food in his mouth.
"Yeah." Jay nods eagerly.
After dinner I head home, my parents worked late today so it was either make my own dinner or dinner with the Armstrongs. I got home just as my parents did.
"Hey kid," My dad says getting out of the car. "You eat at Joey's?"
"Yup," I say as we head inside, "And well."
"Out with it Anna," My mom teases.
"Well the week after Christmas they're driving north for a snowboarding trip and they said I could come along."
"Oh yeah," My dad laughs in such a way that shows he won't let me go.
"Don't worry, I'll be sleeping in a separate room from the guys. I'll be sharing a room with Kad, you know Jay's girlfriend."
"We'll see," My mother says shaking her head, "I'll talk to Adrienne."
"Okay," I say casually as I slip upstairs to my room.
I log onto my computer and straight onto msn. I scroll down my list of my online contacts to see my cousin Darrel is online.
