Being a Father is Not the Same as Being a Rockstar, chapter 4
It was the next morning...
"Oh Addiie!" An annoyed Adrienne walked in the living room, coming after, "What could you possibly want, Armstrong?" I smiled and said, "Have you taken the boys to school?"
She rolled her eyes and said, "Again with the check list?! God! I'm doing everything you're telling me on my own, I don't need it anymore."
I frowned and said, "You don't? Well, go and wash the dishes,"
Addie let out a groan and said, "You're such a nightmare!"
I replied like a smart ass, "Thank you, Addie, now run along, those dishes are not going to do themselves."
Just as I said that, I was taking a sip of my beer, and watching Spongebob.
She came back to the living room, and I quickly told her, "Did you you finish those errands?" She rolled her eyes, just as Spongebob was saying the phrase repeatedly. She got up from the couch, obviously annoyed and smaked me on my head, just as she was making her way to the kitchen. I let out a loud 'Ouch!' and continued watching Spongebob.
Addie walked upstairs, luckily, finishing the dishes, and I got up and walked behind her.
When we got to the top, she turned around and said, "Billie, I'm on the verge to pushing you down the stairs, if you don't stop drowning me with errands."
I replied, "Well, did you learn anything? If you did, good, cuz I just welcomed you to my world."
She just turned around and slammed the bedroom door in my face. I just turned around and headed downstairs, leaving everything like it was, I didn't want to argue. I just sat there on the couch and stared at the T.V. When I glanced at the clock, It was 3:20 already, I went to go pick up the boys. I grabbed my car keys and headed out the door, not telling a word to 80. I got in the car, started the car, and went to the boys' schools. I picked up Jake first, cuz his school was closer, and then picked up Joey, because it was 10 blocks away. Joey and Jake were pretty silent, considering to the emotional vibe in the car.
Joey asked, "Hey, dad, did you and mom argue again?"
I replied, "Oh don't worry about it kiddo, it's just typical, nothing horrible or anything." He nodded, and looked out the window, Jake didn't even bother to ask, because he was used to it, and he didn't understand much.
Finally, we reashed home, as I turned on the corner, and parked the car in the driveway. I got offf the car, just as the boys did, and headed inside. Asie was doing small chores around the house, here and there, because I did everything else. Joey walked up to her, telling her hi, and so did Jake, knowing she wasn't in a really good mood.
It wasn't my fault she didn't do anything for the sake of our family, and the kids were, already, feeling uneasy around their mom. I just looked down and then back up, filled with concern, should I break up with Adie?
That question filled my head in all the corners, as the boys walked past me to their rooms. I looked at 80, and she was doing stuff here and there, roughly getting the stains out of the kitchen counter, when I could do it in 5 minutes. I decided to let her be, and walked upstairs to talk to the boys. As I reached the top step, I heard Joey playing video games when I walked closer to his room; he was supposed to be doing his homework, but who could blame him, I used to do the same thing, whe I was his age.
