We met at Christie Road, chapter 1

"Tre' you bunghole! Why did you set you drumset on fire... Again?" I asked as we walked off stage, gagging on the smoke that filled the air. He grinned cheekily and said defiantly, "I know you love it Billie Willie!" He kissed my cheek and skipped away. "Dude, you reek!" Mike snickered. I glared, "Your one to talk." I pointed to his shirt, which was covered in black particles from the smokey air. He rolled his eyes and kept walking.

"Wow, that band was awesome!" I heard someone say. Out of the corner of my eye I saw two girls walking out of the exit. But one of the girls, almost made me fall in love with her right then and there. She had dark brown hair, it was cut just below her shoulders.

A slim figure, she was dressed in ripped jeans and a black Bad Religion shirt, with black chuck taylors too. I couldn't help it, I stopped dead in my tracks and just stared as they got closer to me. When they reached me, just as they were about to walk right passed me, "the girl" stopped and said, "Hey, weren't you that one guy in that band that just played?"

I almost had to stop myself from drooling. "Umm yeah." She smiled. "Cool, your band rocks. My names Melissa by the way, Mel for short." I shook her extended hand, "Yeah, my names Billie Joe."

She opened her mouth to speak but her friend, who was now way ahead of us, screamed, "Mel hurry up, we gotta meet the guys in like, ten minutes!" She sighed and said, "I'll see you around Billie Joe." And then she ran down to her friend. I watched her walk away until I couldn't see her anymore. I grinned to myself and walked back to the van. Mike was sitting in the back listening to the Clash and reading a magazine. "Took ya long enough." He said without looking up. I pulled my dirty shirt over my head and grabbed a new one. He looked up and said, "Where were ya?" I shrugged.

"I met some girl." He grinned. "Was she hot?" He asked, still grinning like a five year old. "I guess, I'm gonna go for a walk. Later." I walked away from the smelly van and started walking in the direction where I had seen Mel go. I shoved my hands into my pocket and decided to go to my friend Eric's house. As I approached it, I noticed that the garage door was open and music was blasting out of it.

"Hey BJ!" He said as I slowly stepped in. "'Sup Eric." I sat down on the couch. About ten people were drinking and chilling in his garage. "So watcha been up to?" Eric asked. "Nothing much, doing the whole touring thing." I shrugged. We talked for a couple minutes, until someone said, "Billie?" I turned around and saw Melissa standing there holding a paper cup. I got up and said, "Hey." She grinned.

"What are you doing here?" She asked. "Eric's my friend since like high school." She nodded. "Was are [i]you[i] doing?" I asked instead. She shrugged, "My friend over there said there was a party, she didn't mention it was in a garage." I smiled.

"Well, if your gonna be friends with Eric, you should know that he never throws house parties, only garage parties." She chuckled. A hand clamped over my shoulder and spun me around to face whoever it was. "BJ, we neeeeeed Green Day to be here tonight. I'm having a huge party!" Eric said. "Whats the pay?" I asked.

"Ummm twenty bucks and a place to sleep for the night." I shook his hand, "Done deal." I turned back to Mel. "You get paid that much to play for a whole night? Thats cheap." I shrugged, "Well my band could use twenty bucks and a place to sleep, the van ain't working out." She laughed. So did I. "Well I'll see you tonight then?" She asked. "Yeah, no doubt." I said. "Cool, looking forward to it."
