Look What Happened, chapter 4

"So, I guess that it would be good if we knew where we were gonna live once you have the baby." Billie said, "Do you want to live in the warehouse with us? Or do you want to move away?"
"Do you think that living in a warehouse with a baby would be safe?" I asked.
"Probably not the greatest place to raise a child." Billie joked, "But we could work it out."
"What about money?" I asked.
"Once the band hits it big... " He stopped short, "Then we'll have all the money that we'll ever need."
"When is that going to be, Billie? We can't live waiting for your band to make it. We'll run out of money fast, and if you and the guys don't make money faster then we can run out of it, we're in trouble." I answered.
"Does that mean that you don't support me?" He said bluntly.
"Of course that is not what that means." I said surprised. "You know that I've always supported you, Mike and Tré 100%."
"Are you stopping now?" He said.
"No, and I never will." I answered.
"Thanks." He said, "Do you think that your parents could give us some of their old furniture or something like that?"
"They don't even know that I'm pregnant, my dad would kill me if he knew." I said.
"Well, you can't exactly have the baby if you're dead," Billie joked; He could see the anger in my face. "I'm just kidding babe."
"That's not funny, Billie Joe," I said, annoyed.

"Look," He said. "Let's not argue about this right now, we can go home and do something productive."
"Like what?" I asked.
"Like fucking." He said joking.
"That's how you knocked me up in the first place." I said angrily.
"Don't be touchy, honey." He said, realizing that he'd hurt me. "You know that I love our baby, and you know that I love you... "
"I know." I said, "I love you too, I'm just worried."
"So how are you going to tell your parents about the baby?" Billie asked.
"I'm not." I replied, "I don't care if they don't even get to meet it."
"That's a little harsh," Billie, said, "Don't you think?"
"No, I do not think that is a little harsh," I said in surprise, "Don't you think that it's a little harsh that he snapped my arm in half?" I gave Billie a look and then looked down at my broken arm.
"Don't be mad at me, babe." Billie said cautiously, "I was just saying... "

"Are you going to tell your parents?" I asked him.
"You mean my mom?" He asked. "That man will never be my father."
"Your mom then." I said.
"Do you even want this baby?" He said bluntly.
"Yes, Billie." I said for about the twentieth time since I had realized that I was pregnant.
"Do you expect me to take care of it?" He said. I stopped instantly.
"What do you mean?" I said shocked.
"Do you expect me to be a father?" He asked again.
"It would be nice if you would support me. You don't have to pay for us... " I said, "But it would be nice if it knew who his father was." I was near crying now.
"Don't get the wrong idea, " Billie said, "I will always be there and I'm not talking about the money. I love you guys therefore money is no problem. I'll get a job. I just don't know if I'll be a good dad." He said wrapping me into a hug.
"Why would you think that?" I said, "You would be a prefect dad."
"Why do you say that?" He said, feeling sorry for himself.
"Because you're the perfect boyfriend." I said. He smiled at me and I hugged him.

"Do you think that you would let me be the perfect husband?" He said, stopping suddenly.
"What do you mean?" I said, confused.
"What I mean is... Lilly, will you marry me?" He said getting down on one knee and pulling out a beautiful sapphire ring.
"Are you serious?" I said in shock.
"Yes." He said.
"Yes." I said, genuinely happy.
