BILLIE JOE STANDS OUTSIDE HIS HOUSE JUST STARING FEELING A SUDDEN STAB OF GUILT. HE WALKS UP THE STEPS AND WALKS THROUGH THE DOOR.
Billie Joe: ‘I’m home’
Adrienne: ‘Hello, Stranger…how you doing’?’
Billie Joe: ‘Good…a bit tired but good’
Adrienne: ‘I heard that you won an award well done’
Billie Joe: ‘Yeah, Tre has it’
BILLIE JOE WALKS OVER TO ADRIENNE AND HUGS HER HOLDING HER TIGHT.
Adrienne: ‘Is something wrong?’
Billie Joe: ‘No, nothing’
Adrienne: ‘Are you sure?’
BILLIE JOE SUDDENLY FELT THE PIT OF HIS STOMACH CHURN. HE WANTED TO TELL HER BUT EVERYTHING THEY HAD WORKED SO HARD FOR HE KNEW WOULD BE RUINED IF HE DID.
Billie Joe: ‘I’m fine…how are the boys?’
Adrienne: ‘There great…Joey’s at a friends house and Jake’s gone to bed’
Billie Joe: ‘It’s a bit early’

ADRIENNE SMILED AT HIM AND SHE COULDN’T TELL ANYTHING HAD HAPPENED HE SUDDENLY DIDN’T FEEL SO BAD AS IF NOTHING HAD CHANGED. HE PUT HIS ARM AROUND HER SHOULDER AND THEY BOTH WALKED INTO THE LIVING ROOM.
Adrienne: ‘So what did you guys get up to after the show?’
Billie Joe: ‘Well, after we accepted our award we went to the bar, had a couple of drinks and went to bed’
HE DIDN’T MENTION THE GIRLS COZ HE KNEW HOW CURIOUS SHE WOULD GET AND KNEW HE WOULD CAVE IN.
Adrienne: ‘Is that all…how boring…so Mike and Tre didn’t get up to their usual tricks then’

MIKE IN HIS ROBE, STILL VERY SLEEPY, WALKING BACK FROM COLLECTING THE POST AND MILK FROM THE FRONT DOOR. DOOR BELL RINGS.
Mike: ‘Oh for fuck sake…come on people…its open’
TRE AND BILLIE JOE WALK IN.
Tre: ‘That’s very dangerous that could have been anyone at the door’
Billie Joe: ‘You look like shit’
Mike: ‘Firstly, I wouldn’t have cared who was at the door, I’m bloody knackered and two not only do I look like shit but I feel like shit’

Mike: ‘I couldn’t sleep at all last night… I couldn’t stop thinking about Connie’

MIKE PUT THE COFFEE MAKER ON AND MADE THE COFFEE. THEY ALL SAT ROUND THE KITCHEN TABLE LOOKING INTO THEIR MUGS OF COFFEE.
Tre: ‘I can’t remember the last time we were like this’
Mike: ‘Yeah, I know we always talk about what we get up to’
Billie Joe: ‘Well, I suppose this weekend was different’
Mike: ‘I’ll give you that’
Billie Joe: ‘Oh yeah Tre How’s Claudia?’
Tre: ‘She’s fine… I only saw her for an hour but she’s ok…has a new guy’

TRE PUTS HIS HEAD IN HIS HANDS AND MUMBLES SOMETHING.

Tre: ‘I slept with her…I slept with Hattie…and the scary thing is, is that I feel incredibly guilty’

Billie Joe: ‘Then why should you feel guilty?’

TRE GETS UP FROM THE TABLE AND STARTS TO WALK TOWARDS THE FRONT DOOR.
Billie Joe: ‘Where are you going?’
Tre: ‘To get Claudia back…she’s all I want’
Mike: ‘But I thought you didn’t love her’
Tre: ‘I’ve been trying to deny it but the fact is… is that I do’
TRE OPENS THE DOOR AND WALKS THROUGH IT A COUPLE OF SECONDS LATER THEY HEAR HIM PULL AWAY.
MIKE AND BILLIE JOE LOOK AT ONE ANOTHER.
Mike: ‘So did you go to bed after you left us?’
Billie Joe: ‘Yeah’
BILLIE JOE DIDN’T LOOK AT MIKE WHEN HE SAID IT HE HATED LYING TO MIKE, HIS BEST FRIEND OF 22 YEARS.
Mike: ‘Well, its not like you would have slept with anyone…your happily married’
BILLIE JOE FELT HIS STOMACH HIT THE FLOOR.
Billie Joe: ‘Ummm…I have to go’
Mike: ‘Why?’

THEY BOTH LAUGH.
BILLIE JOE GOT UP FROM THE TABLE, WALKED OUT THE DOOR AND FELT LIKE DYING THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME IN 22 YEARS HE HAD LIED TO MIKE NEVER BEFORE AND HE FELT ASHAMED OF HIMSELF.
HE GOT INTO THE CAR AND SMACKED HIS HEAD AGAINST THE STEERING WHEEL.
Billie Joe: ‘What have I got myself into?’

Connie: ‘So…’
