Do All Rockstars Go To Hell?, chapter 3

I was just beginning to play "MakeDamnSure" when the telephone rang. I put down my guitar and picked it up. "Hello?"
"Hey, Chris! It's Jacob from Starbucks."
"Oh. Hey. What's up?"
"Well, I'm sorry, dude, but, you didn't get the part."
"Yeah. I kinda figured that. Well, thanks anyway."

I hung up, slung my booksack over my shoulder, and headed for the door. "Where're you going?"Julia asked, turning around.
"Out,"I said, "I need a walk." She shrugged and went back to her report.

I walked down the hall, down three flights of stairs, and out the door into the cold, cruel world. I walked through campus. People were smiling and waving at me. I waved with a fake smile. I knew they were doing the same. They pretend to like me. I hate them. So much...

I walked out the front gates and zipped up my jacket. I hate this place so much. I wish I lived down south where it's warm. Or atleast in California.

I walked down the street toward my favorite alley. "Knockdead Alley" is what me and my friends call it. We love making fun of Harry Potter so much.

I turned the corner and was suprised to see Snake leaning against the wall with a cigarette in his mouth. Snake's Julia's boyfriend. She's always liked the bad boys. I like Snake. I just don't like him with Julia. You should hear the horrible things he says about her when she's not around. I let them slide, though. He's alot bigger than me...

He shifted the cigarette in his mouth. "Shouldn't you be in school?"He said looking down. I rolled my eyes.
"Like I've told you so many times before, I can't afford to go to school, Snake. Shouldn't you be at work?"
"Got fired."
"Again?! What did you do this time?"
"I don't know. I think I called the boss a dumbass or something."

I rolled my eyes and leaned against the wall next to him. He dug into his pocket and pulled out a carton of cigarettes. "Want one?"he asked. "Yeah,"I said taking one,"I might as well." He threw me the lighter and I lit it. "I've always wanted to ask you something,"he said when I threw it back to him,"Why do you always wear that booksack?" He lit another one.
"Because, my dad gave it to me right before... Well, you know."
"Oh, right. They died."

He's so clueless. He doesn't even know how much those two little words hurt me. I looked up at the wall across from us. It was the "Sacred Wall" as me and my friends put it. I looked in the corner. There was Isaac's retarded plan to take over the world. I looked a little higher. There was Emily's picture of me stabbing George Bush with his own penis. I let out a chuckle and looked down. I need new shoes. These old Converses are getting way too dirty.

I looked up at Snake. His green mohawk shined in the afternoon sun. "What?"he said looking at me.
"Nothing."
"Whatever. How's Julia?"
"Fine. She's swamped with stupid homework, though."
"I don't know why she takes all those classes. I mean, all she wants to do is draw. Writing doesn't have anything to do with that."
"Yeah, but she's majoring in art. Writing's an art."
"Really?"
"Duh. I don't even go to school and I knew that."

I threw the smoldering cigarette to the ground and stamped on it. "Eh, I'm bored,"I said,"I'm gonna go home. You wanna come?"
"Eh, why not?"he said, and followed me out the alley.

We walked the eleven blocks to the campus. We walked through. People weren't waving this time. They just stared at Snake and whispered to one another. They seriously think that we can't see them. People can be so stupid sometimes...

We walked into Julia's room. "Snake!"she yelled getting up and jumping on him. "Hey, babe,"he said and kissed her on the head. I smiled. It's times like these when I like them together.

Amanda sighed from her desk. I walked over and put an arm around her chair. "What're you studying for?"I aked.
"History," she sighed. She wan't to be an archaeologist some day.

She ran a hand through her short, blonde hair. Her eyes are green and she has the prettiest smile... When she feels like smiling. She's thing with curves in all the right places. I told you she was cute.

There was a bang on the door. "Shit," Snake said and let go of Julia.
"What's wrong?"Julia asked.
"It's the cops. They've been following me."
"Snake... What did you do this time?"
"I robbed the warehouse again..."
"Snake! You know that the bums out there hate your guts and they call the police everytime you go!"

They police banged on the door harder. "Open this door or we'll knock it down!" one of them said. Julia walked toward the door.
"Julia," Snake whispered, sounding hurt, "Please don't." She opened it and the cops came running in, guns in hand. Snake held his hands up while they frisked him. They hauled him out as he yelled back at Julia,"You bitch! I'll get you for this!"

My eyes were wide the whole time. I looked at Amanda. Hers were, too. She looked at me and turned back to her studying. "What'd you do that for?" I asked Julia.

"Well, he needs to learn his lesson."
