In The End It Doesn't Even Matter-Sequel To, "Tell Me Who You Love!", chapter 10

My eyes quickly flash to my bag, which holds my mobile. I make a dash for it, my fingers fumbling whilst trying to pull open the zip. I finally manage to get the contraption form my bag and start to dial Tre's number immediatley.

"What are you doing?" I hear Billie say.
"Phoning Tre, what does it look like?" I reply, putting the phone to my ear, hoping it would ring.
"Do you think that's such a good idea, at least let him settle before you go around phoning him," he says.
"Of course! I need to let him know that I'm-. Oh, hi Tre," I say to him, before Tre picks up the phone.

"What the fuck do you want?" He says gruffly.
"I want to apologise. Tre, are you in a bar?" I ask, to the sound of laughter and glasses clanging together.
"Yes i'm in a bar, and you don't need to apologise," He mumbles.
"But I do! You're obviously not that angry with me," I sigh, almost letting out a laugh.
"Why would you say that?" He questions down the phone.
"Well, for starters you didn't turn off your phone when I rung you, and you still haven't put down the phone now."
"Well I still have a tendancy to put the phone down on you right now."
"Well, go ahead, but at least let me apologise," I say, my hand shaking as I hold the phone.
"What is it with you Cassie? You are always telling me you need to apologise, yet you never actually say the word 'sorry," He sighs.
"Sorry" I force. There's a moment of silence after that, neither knowing what to actually say to each other in a situation like this.
"Well, I better go," I sigh, my heart sinking to my gut, my throat feeling as if i just dry swollowed a pill, my eyes stinging with tears.
"Yeah, bye," He grumbles before cutting me off. I remove the phone from my ear and stuff it back in my bag.

"Didn't buy it?" Billie suddenly asks. I jump at the sound of his voice, almost forgetting he was there. I nod and slump down on the sofa, my head in my hands.

I hear Billie's footsteps go behind the sofa, the sound of glass cracking filling the room.
"I better get this cleaned up before the kids come home," He says, trying to make a conversation.
"Oh. My. God," He mumbles slowly.
"What?" I ask, not registering what he had said.
"I guess Tre really did love you," He carries on, his voice sounding wobbly.
"Well of course he loved me!" I almost shriek, lifting my head from my hands and coming face to face with a small red parcel in Billie's hands.

"Oh god!"
