In The End It Doesn't Even Matter-Sequel To, "Tell Me Who You Love!", chapter 12

"Please Tre, come home," I sigh down the phone for about the 20th time today.
"I need time to think," he says, growing impatient.
"You've been thinking for 2 bloody months," I almost shriek. "Look, the kids miss their dad, and Jack's changed so much, at least come round for Jack's first birthday this Friday," I plead.
"I'll be there for his birthday, of course I will. Look, I'm going down town later to pick up some shit or other off Mike, so how about we meet up for a coffee?" My heart nearly skips a beat.
"Err, yeah! Course. What time?"
"I'll come pick you up from the house in about an hour," he suggests.
"Ok."
"Well, bye."
"Yeah, bye love you," I try to say, before hearing a familiar ringing in my ear.

I put down the phone and turn to see Louisa stood in the doorway. I smile. "Hiya honey."
"Mum? Why is dad always away?" she asks, walking over to me.
"It's complicated. You're dad and I..well, we're having some trouble at the moment, and he needs to be away from home for a little bit," I sigh, trying the best I can to explain things to a 6 year old.
"But, will he come back?" she asks hopefully.
"Of course he will, he'll come back any day now," I force to say, a tear rolling down my cheek.
"Are you crying mummy?" she asks, looking at my tear stricken face. I laugh it off and roughly wipe the tears from my face.
"No, no im not crying. Just..got something in my eye that's all," I lie.

"Mum, just for a couple of hours please," I say to my mum, trying to get her to look after the kids for a couple of hours whilst I meet Tre.
"You can't keep running to me everytime you and that man of yours have a fall out," she moans.
"Mother! We're fine. I'll drop the kids round yours and I'll pick them right up again in a few hours" I say, trying to stay calm, which was mearly impossible. I hear and irritated sigh down the phone.
"Oh go on then. I'm doing this for the kids. Just make sure you do pick them up this time," she sighs.
"Yeah! I will. Promise. Ok, well I'll be about half an hour before I can bring them down to you."
"Bye Cassie," she says sternly.
"Bye mum!" I say, forcing out the joy in my voice.

About 45 minutes later, I see a familiar car pull up outside the house, where it's supposed to be. The parking space outside the house has been uncomfortably empty these past months and it brings joy to me to see it back again. The same joy that I feel when I see the tour bus pull up outside and Tre running out and giving me a hug.

I don't bother waiting for him to knock, and go straight out, locking the door behind me. He gives me a weak smile and opens the door of the car for me.
"Hi," he says.
"Hey, thanks for doing this."
"Forget it Cassie," he replies, still not looking me in the eye.

We drive in silence all the way down to Starbucks, and it's not until I enter the coffee shop that I even attempt to say anything.

I look into those eyes again and immediately feel sick. He looks sheepishly at me, from the table across the room.

"I think it's time we had a little chat," Tre says, sitting down next to him, with me stumbling into the booth, trying to tear my eyes away from the man.

"Hey," he says. The voice rings in my ear like alarm bells, his eyes sickening me with horror and every word that spills from those lips, the lips that I once kissed, fill me with anger.
