In The End It Doesn't Even Matter-Sequel To, "Tell Me Who You Love!", chapter 2

I stare at him, wide eyed.
"Do you know her?" I suddenly realize the woman stood next to him.
"Yeah, Adrienne this is Cassie, one of my life long friends" He introduces, smiling. I look around to see some people have stopped and stared, Billie's car the other side of the road dented in the side.
"Are you ok? Can you move?" Billie asks me again.
"Yeah, I think I'm ok, just a bit of a sore neck and stuff that's all" I say, rubbing my neck.

I look at Adrienne with jealousy taking over my body. She's so pretty. I can see what Billie sees in her and I can just tell by looking at them standing together that they will last forever. Then I think of what Billie and me went through 6 years ago. He's changed so much. He no longer has black hair, he has dyed it his original color. Brown. There's one thing that's the same about him though. His eyes. They're the same piercing green filled with love.

"Ok, well I'll drive you to the hospital and get you checked over" Billie offers, shoving open the car door. He holds out a hand and helps me out. I walk over to his car and get in the back where two children sit.
"Are your kids ok?" I ask. They must have been shocked.
"Yeah, they'll be fine, they only got nudged by the car that's all" Adrienne says, belting up. I stare at the back of her head. 'Just got nudged by the car that's all' How can she say that? If it were my kids in that car I'd have them checked out straight away. I shrug it off and smile down at the two boys.
One of them looks a lot like Billie in high school, where as the other looks like his mum.
"I haven't seen you boys in ages" I say. They both stare at me quizzically.
"Oh god yeah, you saw them in photos when they were kids. Joey's 17 now and Jakob's 14" Billie says, driving round a corner. I flinch as the strain on my neck increases.
"Very dashing" I state in a posh voice. Joey laughs but Jakob doesn't seem amused.

We arrive at the hospital about 15 minutes later and I get checked up by a doctor.
"You're fine, just take it easy the next couple of days and if you can, a massage might help" he says. I laugh and walk back to where everyone is waiting.
"I'm fine"
"Oh thank god, I didn't want to have hurt one of Billie's friends" Adrienne says.
"I was driving Adie" Billie states.
"Yes, but still I would have felt guilty" I smile and pick up my bag.
"Hey, I've got to drop the boys off at Mike's house for a bit so I'll leave you two to catch up for a while" Adrienne says.
"Ok, thanks babe, see you later" Billie says giving Adrienne a peck on the cheek.

They walk out the hospital and Billie and I sit down on the bed in a small room, waiting for the doctor to give me the final all clear.
"I've missed you Cassie" Billie says, looking at me.
"I've fucking missed you like no one ever could" I reply. He smiles.
"How have you and Tre been?"
"Fine, we have another kid called Jack" I say. He laughs.
"So how many is that now? 53 if I remember correctly?" he mocks.
"Ha ha funny, not. No, we have 3" I correct him. We sit in silence for a while but I can feel him staring at me.
"It's been so long" He suddenly says. I turn to him and look into his eyes. I smile and get up to get a drink of water from the machine on the other side of the room. I bend down to pick up a cup and feel two hands snaking round my waist.
"Billie, what the fuck?" I ask, turning round.
"Please Cassie" he says, leaning towards me. I turn my head away so he catches me on the cheek.
"You're married" I state, looking at him. He just stares back, looking deep into my eyes. I put my arms round his neck and pull him closer, kissing him. He pushes me backwards, so I knock into the water machine, knocking the cups off.
We break away, panting for breath our foreheads touching.
"I've missed that"
