Wicked Wishes, chapter 20
Riot's P. O. V
Ron wasn't home one day and Helena was asleep.
"Riot! Look what we got in the mail! It's a congratulations card from my uncle, one on a baby and another one on engagement!"
I smiled.
"Riot?"
"Hmm?"
"When are we getting married?"
"HUH!?" The spoon I was using to eat cereal clanked against the bowl as I dropped it splattering milk all over the kitchen table.
"I love you Riot." She said walking over and wrapping her arms around me. "I mean... We are engaged and we have a baby. I'm not expecting it to happen right now. I'm just wondering what your thinking."
"I... I love you too." I said standing up and shaking her off. I didn't mean for it to seem like I was pushing her away. I just was stunned.
I had never planed on getting married. Then again I was doing allot of things with Chadd I had never planned on doing. I had never planned on being in a long term relationship and yet I was. I mean, I did have a girlfriend before Chadd but that wasn't on purpose. Sarah just announced her self as my girlfriend after I slept with her and I didn't feel the need to correct her thinking she would give it up any time if she thought I was with her. (And trust me, she did.) But of course I was with other girls when I was with Sarah. I know I had cheated on Chadd before but it was nothing compared to Sarah.
I had never planed on having kids, Kids? ME a father? Never once thought anything about it. Not once, and yet I was a father at the age of 19.
'There has got to be a way to change the subject' I thought frantically as Chadd looked at me.
And then I came up with an idea.
I walked over to her and pressed her against the counter. I kissed her, running my hands up her back.
I felt her knees buckle. I picked her up and carried her into the bedroom.
'Helena stay asleep just a little bit longer. PLEASE. Ron, don't come home yet.'
I thought to myself.
'Maybe this will change the subject for at least a little bit. '
