Wicked Wishes, chapter 22
Billie Joe's P. O. V.
How could Riot be doing this to Chadd?
I was going to find his ass and drag him home.
First I went to The Gilman. Sure enough he was standing next to Ron and some other kids in the back of the warehouse.
I grabbed his collar and pulled him out of the warehouse.
"What the hell are you doing!?" He yelled at me.
I shoved him into the car. "What the fuck are you doing!?" He yelled again.
"You're going home and apologizing to Chadd!"
"For what!?" He yelled.
"You have a responsibility now! You can't stay out till two and forget that you're a dad now and have a kid to take of!" I yelled at him.
"Get in the fucking house!" I yelled pushing him into the house when we got home.
Riots P. O. V.
Chadd was asleep on the couch when I walked in. I knelt down next to her. She opened her eyes and looked at me. She rubbed the top of my head and smiled at me.
I watched Billie and Adie walk into the kitchen. They came out about twenty minutes later. Billie Joe looked uncomfortable.
"You know what, I'll let you ask them," He said turning and walking back into the kitchen. 80 sat down next to Chadd.
"I know having Helena put a strain on your relationship, and in order for this to work you need a good relationship. So I was thinking I could take Helena for a week and you guys could try to work things out. So?"
Chadd looked at me. "I... I guess." I said.
"Alright." Chadd mumbled.
Helena was going to stay with them that night and 80 was going to come in the morning to get her things.

When we got home Chadd sat down on the couch. She looked up at me with the saddest look I had ever seen.
I sat down next to her, brushed her hair off her shoulder and kissed her neck. But she pushed me off. She looked at me again with those sad eyes.
"We need to talk," She said.
"I've thought about this a lot and I really hope I'm making the right choice. You love Helena right?" I nodded. "You want her to have the best life she can don't you?"
"Yeah."
"Well then you agree with me, good."
"What?" I asked.
"Riot I, I can't do this on my own and you don't seem willing to help. So I think we should put Helena up for adoption.
"What!?" I was shocked. "Chadd!?"
"Riot, you're incapable of raising her, you can't do it. And I can't do it on my own. So she should be with some one who can."
"What do you mean I can't!?" I said standing up.
"You have a problem Riot," Her eyes darted to my wrists. The fresh scars red.
"You can't be blaming it on that!" I yelled at her.
"It's not just that!" She stood up. "It's everything! Riot I know you love me, I do. But this isn't the right kind of love to raise a child. You're like, you're like... " She seemed at lost for words. "You're like a little kid Riot. You don't seem to grasp the concept of responsibility enough to do this. I've already found an adoption agency and already people want to see Helena."
I stared at her.
"Fine. I'll be back in the morning." I said walking out the door.
I was walking down the street when one of the gutter punks sleeping against a car kicked my leg.
"Hey man, you got a joint or two to spare?"
"What?"
"Oh, you just look like the type," He mumbled. I noticed I was wearing Ron's leather jacket instead of mine. I fished around in the pockets until I found two joints. I handed one to him.
"Join me if you want," He said pulling a lighter out of his pocket.
"You got a name?"
"Riot, you?"
"Maze. Now Riot, you seemed angry walking out of that apartment building over there," His head bobbed toward the building.
"It's nothing," I said taking a drag. When in truth in that tiny little apartment on the third floor was my life. Everything I loved and wanted was still up there. I took another drag.
"Riot?" I looked up and I saw Ron and a girl.
"What are you doing out here and why do you have my jacket?" I stood up. Maze just sat and watched.
"You can't go in there with that girl."
"Why?" The girl asked.
"I got into a fight with Chadd, she's still in there. Just don't Ron."
"Come on Ron. We can go to my place," The girl said pulling at him.
"Erin. Why don't you call me later?" He said to her.
She rolled her eyes and walked away.
"What happened?" Ron asked.
"Nothing," I said ruffling my hair.
"Oh. Well I'm going to bed. You coming?"
"No," I shook my head, "I'll stay here."
Ron left and I sat back down next to Maze.
