Wicked Wishes, chapter 5
Chadd didn't see Riot the next day at school though. He had changed his classes. She was quiet thankful for that. The rest of the week passed by slowly.
On Saturday David said he had to leave and go to Chicago for a week.
"Don't look at me like that Chadd!" David said about to walk out the door. "Ill be back in a week ok?" She nodded swallowing a large lump in her throat. Just because they didn't always get along didn't mean she didn't miss him when he left. It just meant she would be all alone again. He hugged her and left.
Around 10:00 someone knocked on the door. She stood up and answered it. She quickly caught a spray can that mark had tossed ad her as soon as she opened the door. It was just him.
"What's this for?" He shrugged.
"I thought we'd go down to the Gilman and trash some shit."
"Sounds fun." She said closing the door and walking out into the hallway.
When the got to the ally she kicked some garbage cans out of the way and started to spray paint wicked everywhere.
"So what's new?" He asked her as he did the same. She told him about Riot, David and her mom. He never said a word the whole time. When she finished he looked at her.
"Sucks don't it?" She nodded. Chadd stared at him.
"What?" He laughed.
"Nothing." She rolled her eyes and went back to spraying. "Your just I don't know... Odd."
She had known mark the longest out of her band mates. They had dated all the way through Junior High. He laughed again.
"Look who's talking!" She punched him on the shoulder and finished up the rest of the spray can. Around two o' clock she said good bye to Mark and went home.
At home she watched T.V for the longest time. She didn't fall asleep till around 6 am. When she woke up her eyes where red itchy and puffy. She looked out the window and tried to think of something to do. It was Sunday afternoon and her weekend had already been wasted. She half wished half hoped Riot would call but he didn't. Maybe he had got the picture-The much messed up picture- that Chadd was pushing him away. Even though she didn't want to she just thought it would be better.
Another week passed.
On Friday Chadd ended up going to the school dance with bayzer. She left early. She said good bye to bayzer and walked out the back door. Riot was sitting on the curb. She sat down next to him.
"Hi." He said turning and looking at her. "It's been awhile." She nodded and kicked a pebble near her foot.
"How have you been?" He asked.
"Good." She told him avoiding his eyes. They didn't say anything to each other. Riot leaned over and started to kiss her. She wanted so badly to pull away but she couldn't move. This wasn't part of the plan to stay away from riot. Instead she ends up kissing him on a street corner. When he pulled away from her she started to cry. She cried into his chest. She didn't care anymore. She wanted to be with him. Riot wrapped his arm around her. He was thinking the same thing. When she was done crying he walked her home. It was around 10:30.
"Good night." She said smiling at him.
"Night." He said picking her up and pressing her against the wall and starting to kiss her neck. She laughed and turned her head. He put her down. She smiled as she watched him walk away.
She woke up the next morning and went to Riots house. A middle aged woman answered the door.
"Is Riot here?" Chadd asked. Hold on the woman said.
"James!" She yelled up the steps.
"Hi Chadd. Do you have to yell!?" Billie screamed at his sister. "He's upstairs go ahead."
"Thanks." She said and walked up the steps into his room. Riot was lying on the bed with his arm over his eyes. She down next to him.
"Billie knows about my dad." He said with out removing his arm. "He said I shouldn't go back. My mom says I have to because she hasn't noticed all the bruises on me!" He slammed his other hand on the mattress. He removed his hand and looked at her.
"Do you want get out of here? We could go to Rudy's."
"Sure." She smiled at him. He said up and put his shoes on.
Riot didn't have to pay. He got free food. After they ate they went back to Chadds apartment. He pushed the door open and pressed her against the wall. He kissed her collarbone, her neck, and then her face and neck again. She felt a small jerk on her lower back and felt his hand inside her shirt. She pushed it down and kissed her cheek.
"Sorry, that was an accident. He breathed into her ear."
She smiled and turned her head noticed David was standing in the hallway. She gasped and pushed riot off. He realized was there.
"Ummm... .." Riot mumbled.
"Who the hell is this Chadd!?" David asked shocked.
"His name is James." She told him.
"What the hell are you doing to my sister!?" David yelled.
"He wasn't doing anything!" Chadd yelled back. Riot didn't know what to say. He was in shock. Chadd had forgotten David was coming home today.
"Chadd tell you friend to leave." Riot looked at her and bit his lip. She shook her head and opened the door. She couldn't help but smirk at him. She shut the door when he left and turned around to face her brother.
"God Chadd! I can't believe you would let a boy do that to you!" Chadd didn't say anything. She would never really tell him how far she went with a boy. Most of the boys she dated were flings or just there because she wanted to annoy her mother. But Riot was different. She really liked Riot.
After half an hour of being yelled at and told to stay away from Riot Chadd went to sleep.
The next Chadd stayed with her brother until he left for work.
She walked down to riots house against her brothers will. She knocked on the door.
"Hi."
"Hi." She looked over his shoulder and saw that everyone was sitting in the back yard.
"You know if you're with your family I can go."
He shook his head.
"No. Come on." He grabbed her hand and pulled her into the back yard. She saw that. Mike, Tre, Billie Joe, Adie, and Sarah. Were sitting around a table. Sarah was drumming her fingers on the table. Chadd saw she had a big engagement ring on her finger. Chadd sat down between Billie and Riot. Chadd saw that Jakob, Joey, Frankito, Ramona and Estelle were all playing soccer.
"Frank! Kick the ball at Joey!" Tre Yelled at his son. Billie reached over and punched him.
"Stop telling you kid to hurt my kid!"
"I'm only joking." Tre said rubbing his shoulder. Billie got up and walked over to jakob at took the soccer ball. He turned back around and threw it at Tre's head.
"Ow! Jesus Christ!" Tre yelled getting up and kick the ball back to the kids. Billie laughed and sat back down. Mike laughed at Tre as he sat back down. Mike stood up.
"Any one want another beer?" He asked looking around the table.
After everyone said yes he went back into the house to get some. Chadd laid her head on Riots shoulder. Billie coughed and looked at them.
"So your going to be 18 Tuesday." Billie Joe said to Riot.
"It's your birthday Tuesday?" Chadd asked him. He nodded.
"How old are you Chadd?" Adie asked.
"17." She said.
"Oh Sarah this is Chaddlynn. My girlfriend."
"Hi." Sarah said.
"Hi." Chadd said back.
As Chadd was starting to fall asleep Billie stood up to go into the house. Tre came running up behind him and kicked him in the back of the knee.
"William Joseph!" He yelled when he kicked him. Billie buckled over with pain but laughed when he fell on the ground. He sat back on the chair and rubbed his knee.
"I may be home a little later tomorrow." Riot said to Billie.
"Why?" Billie asked still rubbing his knee.
"I have detention."
"What for?" Mike asked him.
"I got into a fight with Ryan in the hallway and told him to fuck off and die. Billie laughed. Tre clapped.
"Good Job!" Then he started to sing. "Let's nuke the bridge we torched two thousand times before. This time let's blast it all to hell!" Billie threw an empty beer can at him.
"Copy right you little motherfucker!" He yelled. "Those are my words!" Adie and Sarah looked at each other.
"Fine! I just sing Dominated Love Slave!" And then he started to sing that. But was cut off my Ramona who jumped in his lap.
"Ow. My ball." Ramona laughed.
"You ready?" he asked her. She nodded and got off him. Tre stood up and turned around.
"Frankito! Get you skinny little white ass over here boy!" Frank laughed as he ran over.
"Same here Estella!" Mike yelled standing up. She smiled running over. Joey and Jakob came racing over. Jakob fell into the bushes.
"Jesus Christ." Billie said walking over and helping him out. Riot laughed. Chadd stood up.
"I better go to." Riot walked her to the front door and kissed her.
"I love you Chadd." She smiled.
"I love you too." She meant that when she said it and she knew he meant it too.
When Chadd got home David was waiting for her.
"Where did you go?" He asked.
"I was at Bayzers." She lied and went to bed.
