Part Two, chapter 1

I've been through a lot of shit in my life. Fucked up childhood, difficult adolescence, broken home... I always had my band to be there for me but that doesn't mean it was all "love and roses" with them all the time either. However I consider myself to be amongst the luckiest people in the world. That is because I'm in love with the most innocent and smartest human being I have ever met and that is never going to change. So I don't care if my life keeps being hard on me; all I have to do is remember how meaningless it was before our story started, that night she found me.

Give me a long kiss goodnight and everything will be alright

All he could really see was a blurry figure next to him, holding him by his waist so that he wouldn't fall down. Everything else was dark.

Normally he would be feeling extremely nauseous and lost like every time alcohol got the better of him but this time, the girl who had offered to let him sleep in her house had a refreshing smell that made him happy.

"There you go." She said and loosened her grip, causing him to fall on a bed, quite strongly as his legs were weak to hold him up.

"Take it easy. I'll be sleeping at the next room, call me if you need anything." She said.

"No!" Billie shouted. "You promised to kiss me goodnight." He told her.

"I don't remember making such promise." She answered, covering him with sheets and a blanket.

"Yes you did. I'm sure you did. Right before you said you'll have sex with me if I give you an autograph."

"You're just imagining things now. Sleep and we'll talk in the morning ok?"

"I'm not sleeping until you kiss me goodnight. You know like a mom does to her son."

"That would be a little uncanny as I am younger than you. I may kiss you tomorrow when your breath is improved. Good night."

"No! If you don't kiss me I'll wake the whole neighborhood up and tell them it was you."

"Ok fine!" she bent and blew him a kiss, just a touch on his lips, and tried to pull away. Billie however knew women and all their tricks so he held her by the shoulders and quickly slipped his tongue in her mouth, deepening the kiss.

"Now shut up and go to sleep." The girl told him and went away, closing the door behind her.

He knew that his hang over was going to be enormous the next day but he realized he didn't care at this point and fell asleep, wondering if the girl who had saved him was just an image his drunken mind had created and if her vision would disappear with the brightness of the day to come.

He had walked five feet from her door when he went back and rung her bell. "Hey Violet." He said as soon as she answered. She grinned at him and tug her hair behind her ear, a move he always found cute in girls.

"What now?" she asked. "I'm not kissing you this time."

"Damn." He murmured just to make her laugh again. He wasn't sure if he wasn't still half drunk but she seemed the most beautiful and full of life person he had ever led eyes on the way she stood on her doorway laughing with him.

"So how can I help you Billie Joe?" she questioned, a little bit more seriously, but never losing her smile.

"Uumm... I think I forgot my jacket on your bed so I came back to get it." He explained.

"Okay come in. But no funny business. My dad refused to kiss you but I think he wouldn't mind punching you." She guided him to the room he had slept the night before and gave him his jacket which of course he had left there on purpose.

"There you go. Once again it was nice meeting you and next time maybe I'll see you jumping and running around naked." She said.

"You'd like that wouldn't you?" he joked as she handed him the jacket.

"Bye Billie. Work hard on that band of yours."
Billie approached the door and opened it to get out. Suddenly he turned around again, caught the girl off guard and pressed his lips on hers, like he had done some time ago.

"Sneaky!" she cried and hit his arm. "That's me." Billie told her smiling and winked at her before finally going away.

Every night I dream the same dream

Billie was sitting on his bed with his guitar in his hands and hadn't realized that he was grinning, as he recalled all the moments he had spent with that girl. She seemed so... independent. Maybe that was the reason he couldn't stop thinking about her for two months.

"Rebellious... " Billie whispered to himself. "She looked like she was a saint but I bet she could be dangerous."

He continued, playing whatever cord he wanted. He was interrupted by the bell so he got up and left the thoughts of Violet in his room for a while.

"Hey man." His best friend, Mike greeted him.

"Hey what's up?"
"Not much. Tre is on his way here so you may wanna hide anything that can be eaten."

Billie smirked and sat on the couch next to Mike, offering him a beer.
"Anything new on the writing stuff?" Mike asked turning on the TV.

"No." Billie answered sighing. "But I have ideas in my mind so I'm gonna have something up pretty soon." He promised. They stayed silent for the rest of the time, watching whatever there was on until Tre came.
"Hey guys." He said and immediately walked his way to the fridge.

"Tre I'm out of almost everything. Sorry." Billie told him.

"Bullshit." Tre opened a drawer and pulled out a box of biscuits. "You think I don't know where you hide this stuff?" he said, chocking his found treasure.

"Whatever." Billie said laughing.

"You wanna go hang out in bars and get laid tonight?" Tre asked them, sitting next to them.

"I... I don't feel like it." Mike told him, making a frown of boredom.

"Didn't expect anything else from you. Billie! My man! You always join me to such pleasurable activities." Tre patted Billie's back hoping that he would say yes. "I'm sorry man I'm a bit tired."

"For the last two months?" Tre shouted. "Have you done anything the old good Billie did before that whatsername chic found you that night you were pissed?"

"Her name is Violet." Billie corrected him, annoyed. "And I don't want to have sex tonight."

"Fine we'll just sit here and watch porn." Tre made a compromise.

"How was she?" Mike asked him, drinking his beer trying to ignore Tre.

"She was different. The way she moved and talked was like... music. And the way she was resisting me was hilarious."

"She couldn't be resisting you. I've seen how chicks always fall for you. Asshole." Tre interrupted as he was changing the channels.

"Believe me she was the Symbol of Resistance! And I just wanted to kiss her."

"But you did, didn't you? Kiss her I mean." Mike asked.

"Yeah and she was like she was going to detonate! Trouble."

"Was she trouble like you're trouble?" Tre mumbled, still mad at him for not wanting to go out.

"Shut up."

Waste another year flies by, waste a night or two

Billie was walking in the streets of California, having thousands of different things to put in order inside his head that if the girl next to him wasn't holding his hand he would forget he wasn't alone.

"So do you want to go for coffee?" she asked, kissing his lips.

"I'd love to but I have band practice in half an hour so I can't."

"Come on. It won't take us long I promise."

"Nicky I told you I can't, I have... " Billie left his sentence unfinished and looked at the end of the road where someone he thought he knew was standing.

She was holding a record in her hands and was showing it to another girl next to her. They laughed and disappeared in an alley holding each other's hands like little girls do.

"Billie?" Nicky shook him a little. "Are you ok?"

"Yeah I'm fine... " he said, still looking at the place the two girls were previously standing. "I just thought I saw someone I knew."

"Where?"

"Never mind. She went away."

"You sure you're not just dreaming?" Nicky joked, turning to look at the direction he was still staring.

"Maybe I am dreaming." Said Billie, finally looking away. "I'll see you later ok?" he winked at her and left.

He couldn't get the image of the girl holding the record in her hands out of his mind. He was sure she was Violet.

The way she was standing, showing her record to her friend with her bright smile on and her innocent look... she couldn't be anyone else.

"She went away... " he kept thinking. "And how stupid was I not to follow? She went away and I took a different path." He tried remembering the night he had met her.

"God it seems like forever ago."

And she was still in his head. "Jesus if you like her so much why don't you just go look for her?" Tre had asked him once.
"Because...I don't know. I don't think I'll manage anything."
"You're just scared to death." His friend told him.
