Are you here yet?, chapter 4

We, well, they walked to the car; Debbie and Jeff had to help me limp to the car. When we had got in Jeff pulled out of the driveway and into the dark street. We were at the hospital in less than a half hour. The paramedics were out in front of the hospital with another man and a lady, or so it looked, on a stretcher. I wonder if they ever do stretch a person on a stretcher, I thought. Jeff got out of the drivers seat and helped me out while the others were out first.
"Okay, come on." The others walked ahead of us; Jeff and Debbie helping me walk once again. When we got into the waiting room a young nurse looked up from her desk. "May I help you?"
"Yes. I think he may have broken his leg." Debbie answered her.
"How did he do this?" she said looking at him.
"He was walking up the stairs in the dark, and slipped, fell down, and I guess he broke his leg."
"When did this happen?" she asked. She really annoyed me, already.
"About a half hour ago." Jeff replied.
"And you didn't bring him any sooner?"
"We really couldn't. We live pretty far from here, and if we would have driven any faster we would have got a ticket." Debbie said calmly. I could tell she didn't like her either. The nurse got up and walked over to them. "Well he looks fine." She said, not even examining me.
"Ma'am, you didn't even take an x-ray. You can't know that." Catherine said.
"Excuse me, but I think I know what I am doing." She said as a small girl walked in holding her hand.
"Oh, what happened?" the nurse said as she walked in. she went over to the little girl and looked up to her mother.
"She got a cat scratch, and we wanted to get it checked, to see if she will get sick from it."
"Oh, well bring her over to a chair and I'll get a doctor out to get it checked as soon as I can." She said not even looking at us.
"What is your problem? That little girl got a cat scratch and you're scheduling her an appointment, but my son just fell down the stairs and possibly broke his leg, and you're not going to get him an appointment at all! What a serious jerk!" Debbie screamed. Everyone in the lobby turned to look at us; I could feel myself go red.
"Excuse me, but your son is fine. A cat scratch can be very fatal."
'"No it can't! So many cats have bitten me, never got it checked out and, I'm here aren't I? I have been bit by strays and haven't had anything but a small infection! But he could loose his leg if he does have a broken one, because this infection could spread! It could be very deadly!" I thought about this and noticed that everything around me was blurry, then black. I passed out.

Debbie's P.O.V
"See? Already knocked him out!" I said as Jeff went down and picked Billie up. He was pale, but he looked a little funny too. Oops, that was mean. He didn't exactly look funny, but it was funny that he thought about it, and passed out. but, I hope what I said wasn't happening to him. "So, now are you going to get a real doctor out here? If you don't, I will."
"And how do you expect to do that?"
"By going straight through those doors back there." I said pointing to a large set of double doors.
"Oh, you really think you'd be allowed back there?"
"Do I look like I really care about what I am and am not allowed to do right now?"
"Ma'am, really don't care if you think you're allowed back there, because I will stop you."
"Excuse me, but what is going on?" another doctor said from behind us.
"This so called doctor won't get an appointment scheduled for my son, but she already has for this little girl who got a cat scratch."
"What happened to your son? There may be reasons why she has done this. If what happened is something small, then it can wait for a little while."
"He fell down stairs, and he could have broken his leg. How many more times am I goanna have to explain this before someone will help?!" I yelled to him.
"Well, I guess she really doesn't have a reason for not scheduling an appointment. We can take him back now if you'd like."
"I would like." I said still very annoyed. We followed him through the double doors and into a long hallway. "Here, you can lay him down on this bed, and a doctor will be in right away." He said to us, leaving afterwards. Jeff and me laid Billie Joe on the bed while the other kids sat down in the chairs, having to share because there weren't very many of them. "Hopefully they hurry." I told him. After fifteen minutes of waiting and getting mad, a doctor of about twenty came in and shut the door.
"Billie Joe?" she asked.
"Yes." he said.
"I am doctor Shirley," she said putting her hand out. Billie shook it, without saying anything, "can you explain to me what happened?"
"I fell down the stairs." He said, not adding anything else.
"Um, okay. And what happened?"
"I fell down the stairs." He repeated. He was just as annoyed as me. His siblings giggled at how he responded.
"And... "She asked him.
"And... I fell down the stairs, possibly breaking my leg." He said slowly.
"Can you repeat that?" she asked looking at him.
"I... fell... down... the stairs... and ... I ... may... have.... Broken... my leg." He said as slowly as he could.
"Okay, that time I couldn't catch any of it, one last time."
"I FELL DOWN THE STAIRS, POSSIBLY BREAKING MY LEG!" he said, or almost yelled. "Do you get it now?" the others were almost on the floor now, they were holding themselves back from laughing. I had to look away from everyone before I started to join them.
"Ye-, yes, I understand." She said quickly. I had to shut everyone up this time.
