Please Wake Me Up When September Ends or Let Me Here to Die!, chapter 1
"Seth, wake up now!" my step-dad yelled to me.
Wait you must be thinking I'm a guy, well you are mistaken. Pause the story I need to tell you about me up until now.
When I was born my parents were not happy. But lucky for them I had a twin brother that came out 5 minutes after me. They named him Ryan. They were expecting a boy so they just gave me the name Seth. My father was killed in a car accident when I was about 5. I am about 18. I was held back when I was in first grade. Why? I don't' know. Well let's get back to the story.
"I am!" I yelled back. I got up and walked to my closet. I pulled out a black long sleeved shirt and black pants. I put some eyeliner on and walked down stair with my black hair flowing. I walked into the kitchen and looked at my brother.
He stood up and walked over to me.
"You ready for the last day of school?" he asked.
"Yea and I am glad to leave that school." I said.
"Well you still have one more year and you wont let your grades slip, will you?"
"Yea I know Tom." I said.
"Hey why don't you call me dad?" he asked. Tom is my stepfather if you hadn't guessed it.
"Tom I am not calling you dad because you are not my biological father."
"Oh, do you know how much that hurts?"
"No and I am going to be late so bye." I just walked out with Ryan behind me.
"What was that about?"
"Ryan, do you call him dad?"
"No! He is not my dad! Would you?"
"Never in my whole life!"
"Hey what with all the yelling?" a guy asked.
"Oh, nothing Tre' I am just trying to calm sis down." There was an awkward silence until Tre' broke it.
"Whoa! You two look alike! Except for the part that you are a girl and you are boy."
"No you fucking think. She is my twin sister!"
"Well sorry. I have never seen her!" I wasn't looking at Tre' in the face.
I thought it was a nick name his friends gave him. I loved Green Day and never even heard Tre' Cool's voice in person.
"Where is Billie and Mike?"
"Oh they said they would meet us at school."
"Ok, that's all right with me." There was another awkward silence as I looked at my shoes.
"So... " Tre' broke the silence again. "What's your name?"
"Huh? Oh, it's Seth." I said still looking at my feet.
"What? Did you get a... um... sex-change?"
"What the fuck Tre-" I cut my brother off.
"Ryan just let me tell him." He nodded.
"Well... when I was born my parents wanted a boy to come out first but they got me and didn't want to give me a girl name since they had Seth in mind." I said.

"Oh... well that must suck."
"No. I've grown to the name." We were silent again and arrived at school.
We went to our lockers and began cleaning them out. Ryan's locker was right beside mine. We finished and walked to homeroom. I was in a different room since I was in a grade. "Ok class this is the last time I will see you so I am going to hand out the cards." She was walking through the rows and finally got to mine.
"Aw... Seth Watson." She said while I looked at the desk. She put the card on my desk and walked away. She finished passing out the cards and walked to the front. "Ok you are free to go." I got up and walked out of the room.
My brother walked up to me. "So... what did you get?"
"I haven't looked yet and to tell you I don't care." After I said that Ryan grabbed the card and ran. "Ryan get back here!" I yelled. He stopped and froze where he was. I caught up to him and looked at his face.
