Why Does It Always Rain On Me?, chapter 3

The Day of the Concert

I woke up the next day excited. Mona was still asleep on the chair, so I woke her up by blasting Green Day.

"Get up! We get to see Green Day today!" I said jumping up. That made Mona wake up and run to the bathroom. She came back a few minutes later ready to go.

"Alright, let's get out of here." I said getting up and going downstairs.

"But it doesn't start until 6 and it's only 10." Mona said following me down.

"I know but I don't think you want to spend the day at my house." I said walking outside.

"True but where will we go?" she asked.

"Don't be stupid Mona." I said walking off down the road. She followed not saying anything else.

We walked for about 15 minutes until we got to a gate and jumped over it.

"Oh." Mona said after a while.
"Yeah were else did you think we were going?" I asked still walking.
"I don't know, I just didn't know where we were going." She said.

"Right..." I said. When I saw the tracks up ahead I started running. "I'm back, Christie!" I yelled still running.

Mona and I hung out at Christie for a few hours. Then we started walking over to the record store.

The Record Store

I walked among the many vinyls that I desperately wanted with Mona.

"Dude I want all of them. But I can't, I have no money" I said looking at them.

"Yeah, me too." She replied. "Well I guess we better get going I bet there are people in line already."

"What time is it?" I asked.

"It's 4:30" Mona said.

"Oh, well yeah let's go then." I said walking out the record store with Mona by me.

We got to the stadium about an hour and a half after we left the record store. And of course there was a long ass line waiting to get in. We cut up to the front to see why they weren't letting any one in.

I saw a couple of police with there dogs sniffing out some people. They found some 'Mary Jane' in the dudes' pockets. They finally let us in after a while and Mona and I were right in front of the catwalk.

I didn't realize I was super nervous to see Billie and Mike again until I felt someone shaking me.

"Lynn! Stop freaking out it's scary!" Mona said.

"Sorry, I'm just so freaking nervous." I told her.

"Yeah I am too." she said turning back to the stage.

After a few minutes of waiting Green Day finally came out and started playing.

My mind was going crazy when I saw Billie. Man he didn't change one bit. Then I turned to Mike, he didn't change either. Well I didn't change at all either so it seemed okay.

They rocked the whole stage with there music. It seemed to never get old.

A couple songs later I saw Mike glance at me every now and then. I thought he knew it was me, or maybe he was looking at some one else. But when I turned around to see if he was looking at somebody else it was just some weird looking guy.

I guess Billie noticed Mike doing that and knew something was up, so he looked in the same direction too. All of a sudden Billie just stopped singing and Mike stopped playing. Tre was of course sitting at his drum set wondering what was going on.

Finally after quiet a long pause of them just standing on the stage staring at me and Mona they started playing again. But they kept staring while playing. Mona and I decided to have a little fun with it.

So we would wave at them and blow kisses. They couldn't believe it was us right in front of them.

After the concert was over Mona and I went backstage to see them.

"Well they know we're here now." Mona said.

"Yep and that was fun." I said.

"Yeah." She said stopping at a door with a Red star on it. We paused for a minute before knocking.

As soon as we knocked the door opened and out came a flying Billie and Mike. They both tackled us to the ground.

"What a nice hello!" I yelled at Billie who tackled me and was hugging me really tight.

"Lynn! I can't believe it! Where were you guys? How have you been? Are you doing okay? Did you miss us? Because we missed you, want to come to dinner with us?" Billie was talking really fast.

"Uh... Home, fine, yea, of course and sure we'll go to dinner with you guys." I said laughing.

I looked on the other side to see Mike was still hugging Mona too. Then Billie saw Mona and Mike saw me so they switched stops.

"Hi Mike." I said being hugged.

"Lynn you don't know how much we missed you guys!" he said started to squeeze my life away.

"Mi-... Ke... I can't... I can't... Breathe." I said loosing lack of air.

"Oh sorry." he said loosing up his grip on me but not letting go yet.

"That's okay." I said.

"Okay enough of this mushy stuff lets go inside and talk. Tre is probably wondering what happened to us." Billie said letting go of Mona and standing up. Mike did the same and went inside while Mona and I followed them.

"Tre! You freakin' ate all the cookies!" Billie yelled.

"What?! You didn't ask for any!" Tre said yelling back at Billie.

"But I wanted some too!" Billie whined like a little kid. Mike, Mona and I laughed at Billie. Tre looked behind Billie and saw Mona and me.

"So are those the chicks that you guys were drooling over on stage today?" Tre asked looking at Mona.

"I say you're the one that's drooling!" I said pointing at Tre who kept staring at Mona.

"Yeah sure." Tre said still staring at Mona.

"What that didn't make sence Tre." Billie said.

"Yeah Billie wait." Tre said.

"Gross! He is drooling!" Mike said laughing.

Mona walked behind Mike to hide from Tre. Then Tre finally went back to his normal self. Well normal to him anyway.

"What's that?" I asked pointing at the small pink bag that Tre had with barney on it.

"It's my bag." He said taking out a barbie coloring book and some crayons.

"Oooooooooookay" I said sitting down next to Billie.

"You get use to stuff like that." Billie said to me.

"Yeah probably" I said staring at Tre, I was wondering if he was just pretending not to know how to color inside the lines. But believe me, was I wrong.

"So how's life?" Billie asked Mona and I.

"Well the same... Oh! But Mona and I got an apartment in Oakland we'll be moving out of our houses soon." I said smiling happly.

"That's awesome! Since that's happening we could hang out more!" Billie said hugging me and Mona.

"Yeah sounds cool!" Mona said.

"So how are you guys doing?" I asked Mike and Billie.

"Uh... Really great. Oh and Billie's getting married." Mike said looking over at Billie.

"Really?" I asked Billie.

"Yeah... Well y'know" he said.

"So who's the lucky girl?" I asked.

"Adrienne" he replied.

"Sweet" I said looking over at Tre because he started singing the Sesame Street theme song to himself still coloring. Billie and Mike seemed to learn to ignore Tre's randomness.

The three of us continued to talk for a couple more hours then we all went to dinner. It was cool catching up with them. Mona seemed the most happy. Her and Mike seemed to be inseparable the whole time. Tre kept giving a death glare at Mike during dinner. Billie and I couldn't help but laugh at the three of them.

"You guys need a ride home?" Billie asked us.

"Yeah" Mona and I said at the same time. We tend to say stuff at the same time every now and then.

"Alright I'll take you guys home then" Billie said getting up.

"Okay so I'll see you at the hotel later then?" Mike asked him.

"Yeah." Billie said.

"Okay by Mike." I said walking over to him and hugging him.

"Don't forget to call us okay?" Mike asked hugging me back.

"We won't." Mona and I said at the same time.

"Stop doing that!" Mona snapped at me.

"Scary." was all I said.

"Alright guys chill." Billie said.

"Whatever", I said, "nice meeting you Tre, catch you later."

"Yeah." Tre said.

"Yeah see you later Tre." Mona said. Tre shot his head up and started drooling at the site of Mona.

"Tre let's go, calm down." Mike said pulling Tre up and walking out.

Mona and I followed Billie to his car. I got in the passenger seat as Mona sat in the back. We drove off to drop Mona at her house.

"Cool thanks for the ride Bill." She said getting out the car.

"Wait!" Billie said getting out and walking over to her. "Don't I get something for driving you here?" he whined.

"Yeah of course" Mona said hugging him and kissing him on the cheek.

"Bye Mona and you better call!" Billie said walking back to the drivers seat.

"I will bye Bill" Mona said waving and running up to her house.

Billie got back in the car and drove off.

It was quite the whole time. I started tapping my fingers like I always do when I'm nervous or just thinking.

"What's wrong?" Billie asked me stopping at a red light.

"Nothing... Just thinking." I said.

"It doesn't sound like nothing." He said stepping on the pedal again.

"Well I just don't feel like talking about it" I replied.

"Okay... But you do know you can always tell me if something's wrong right?" he asked.

"Yeah I know" I said.

We pulled up to my house and sat in the car for a while.

"So are we just going to sit here all night?" Billie asked breaking the silence.

"Sorry just kind of caught up in my mind. Okay thanks for the ride Billie and I'll talk to you soon." I said leaning over to kiss him on the cheek but he turned his head so I kissed him on the lips.

He was about to kiss me again when I turned away.

"Billie what are you doing?" I asked looking the other way.

"I uh... I'm sorry I didn't know" he said.

"Yeah you did" I said.

"Okay... So maybe I just missed you so much Lynn." I knew where this was going. "Ever since you broke up with me I've been wanting to make it up to you and... " I cut him off.

"Well it's too late for that now. Besides I had a reason to do that. Plus you are getting married to the coolest person ever and nothing is going to happen okay?" I said sort of yelling at him.

"Yeah... I'm sorry" Billie said.

"Okay... Well I have to go now. I'll call you some other time bye" I said getting out of the car and walking up to my house.
