Why Does It Always Rain On Me?, chapter 5

[Recap: Went to Green Day concert, hung out with Billie and Mike. After the nights almost over Lynn goes home and finds out her mom has left her by herself. :End Recap]

"What are you doing here?" I asked jumping up from my bed to see that I wasn't wearing the same clothes as the night before, but pajamas.

Before I could ask how I got in my pajamas, Billie answered.

"Don't worry...I didn't do that." Billie was going to say more when someone called his name from downstairs.

"Yeah...she did it." I heard footsteps coming up the stairs. By then I knew who Billie met by 'she'.

"Bill-" Adie stopped saying what she was going to say when she saw that I was up. "Oh good you're up, I was just finished making breakfast."

I was speechless, and just nodded at her.

"Uh...well we'll be downstairs while you get dressed," Billie said breaking the awkward silence.

"Yeah...we'll be waiting for you," Adrienne said walking out of the room followed by a nervous Billie.

When Billie closed the door behind him I fell to the floor and just sat there. I didn't do anything but sit there. The door slowly opened a bit and I saw a head pop out.

"What?" I asked Billie not bothering to look or make eye contact with him.

"Look, I'm sorry, okay? Didn't we make up at dinner last night?"

"Yeah."

"Then please don't make this awkward for me and Adrienne."

"Me making this awkward? You're the one that's in my house. You're the one that cheated on me. You and her should be the ones feeling awkward. I told you I didn't want you to stay last night. I told you to leave me alone. What do you do? You ignore what I say and do it anyway. I'm sorry if I'm making it hard on you. Pfft..you have no idea how this is for me." I said pissed off and annoyed.

Billie sighed and said, "Okay, okay. But can we just forget about it. And start new?"

"Only if you don't tell me how to act."

"Okay fine," he said closing the door back.

I got up and walked over to my closet. I picked out a white button up shirt and a pinstriped skirt.

Put on my pinstriped tie and necessary accessories, walked over to the mirror and put on my eyeliner. Opened my drawer picked out gray knee high socks. Slipped on my combat boots and walked out of my room.

I heard Adrienne and Billie talking in the kitchen. I stopped and listened for a bit.

"I don't feel comfortable here," I heard Adrienne say.

"I know you don't. I don't feel comfortable either," Billie said.

"Why are we here then? She doesn't even like me. Then again, I wouldn't like me either," Adrienne said.

"We're here because I want you guys to make up and get to know each other. Also because I know she really needs someone who cares about her right now. She may not admit it, because she doesn't like showing that she needs help.
"And it wasn't your fault what happened. I was the idiot. Don't worry, I'm sure if she hates someone one it's got to be me."

I stopped listening and walked in the kitchen. They both stared at me like I was an alien or something.

"What?" I asked creeped out by there wide eyes.

"Oh nothing, we were just waiting for you," Adie said getting up and walking over to the stove. She came back with a pan with bacon and eggs.

"Thanks." I said when she put some of both on my plate after she did to Billie. I really didn't like eggs or bacon. Neither had I ever ate breakfast.

Adie sat back down and started eating like Billie did. I looked at the both of them and imagined them doing this ever morning. Getting up to eat breakfast like old people. I laughed a little at the thought of Billie as an old man.

"What?" Billie asked looking up.

"Nothing," I said smirking.

He eyed me for a second then said, "okay" in a disbelieving way.

"So...Lynn how have you been?" Adie asked.

"I've been okay, not great but okay," I said. She nodded and then asked her next question.

"Do..." she paused for a second then continued, "you have something against me?"

Billie stopped eating and looked at Adrienne wide-eyed.

"No I have nothing against you, particularly. What happened in the past will stay in the past, I don't like bringing up bad memories." I said not looking up at the either of them.

"You know, I'm not that hungry. I think I'm just going to call Mona now," I said getting up and walking up the stairs into my room.

I locked the door behind me and sit down at my computer desk. I decide, instead of calling Mona to IM her instead. So I turn on the computer and log on AOL.

She's not on yet. So I wait a few mintues when I see her screen name pop up. I message her first.

(Writers note: I don't know if they had IM back then...but whatever lol. Oh and the AIM part is pretty long.)

RaMoNeSfReEk: Hello?
Lost_IN_supermarket_grl: Hey, what's up?
RaMoNeSfReEk: Uh... well...
Lost_IN_supermarket_grl: Well... ?
RaMoNeSfReEk: Well last night remember when Billie dropped us both off?
Lost_IN_supermarket_grl: Uh yeah... ?
RaMoNeSfReEk: Okay let me start from when we got to my house.
Lost_IN_supermarket_grl: Yeah you better because I have no idea what's going on. And you better not have did anything with him.
RaMoNeSfReEk: No I didn't.
Lost_IN_supermarket_grl: Okay good. Now tell me.
RaMoNeSfReEk: Okay so, I was just lost in my thoughts when I realized we were at my house. I leaned over to give Billie a kiss on the cheek, right then he turned his head so it would be like I actually kissed him. Then he tried to kiss me again, but I moved away.
Lost_IN_supermarket_grl: Wait ... are you serious? Or are you lying to me?
RaMoNeSfReEk: Believe it or not Mona I'm telling the truth.
Lost_IN_supermarket_grl: Okay, go on.
RaMoNeSfReEk: Yeah that happened then I told him not to and that I was completely over him and left the car. When I walked inside I was surprised because I wasn't knocked down on the floor for once. And it was extremely quite in the house.
Lost_IN_supermarket_grl: Hmmm...
RaMoNeSfReEk: Yeah strange ... so I walk into the kitchen and find a note that says something about her being sorry for treating me badly and she hopes I'll forgive her someday. And that she was leaving me and now I'm here on the computer at my house alone... sort of...
Lost_IN_supermaket_grl: Fuck are you serious!?
RaMoNeSfReEk: Yeah.
Lost_IN_supermarket_grl: Dude aren't you happy?
RaMoNeSfReEk: Well sort of but not that much.

RaMoNeSfReEk: So after I read the letter I didn't realize that I actually cared for my mom. I started to go into one of my panic attacks again until I heard Billie's voice telling me too calm down. So I eventually did

Lost_IN_supermarket_grl: HOLY SHIT!
RaMoNeSfReEk: I know.
Lost_IN_supermarket_grl: so I'm guess that you told him to leave after he helped you calm down, but then you passed out and this morning you woke up with Billie there and Adie coming up in your room which you weren't expecting...
Lost_IN_supermarket_grl: she made breakfast for you guys but you didn't go downstairs right away considering that you just saw your ex-boyfriend and future wife together. So when you went downstairs they are talking about you and now you are pissed off. Adrienne starts asking you questions that you don't want...
Lost_IN_supermarket_grl: correct?
RaMoNeSfReEk: that's creepy, that's exactly what happened... how'd you figure that out?
Lost_IN_supermarket_grl: eh... just figured much.
RaMoNeSfReEk: yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaah...

Yeah so now that you know what happened I have no idea what to do. Should I just leave and not say anything? Should I kick them out? And one more problem...


I have no fuckin' place to live anymore after the electricity and crap goes off at this house.
Lost_IN_supermarket_grl: okay first of all, I think you should kick there's asses out. Billie shouldn't have let Adie there. In fact, Billie shouldn't have stayed in the first place. Tell them you have places to go, places to see (lmfao)
Secondly you may stay with me. I think it would be cool.

RaMoNeSfReEk: okay soooooooooo I'm gonna go kick them out now and I'll just come by when I have everything packed that is mine... so don't be shocked when I come to your house at any random time.

Then I signed off and went back downstairs. I found Billie and Adrienne still sitting at the table staring at each other. Jeez can't the do that some where else. They saw me walking in the kitchen and stopped staring at each other.

"Well...what's going on?" Billie asked.

"Nothing, just talking to Mona," I replied.

"Okay," he responded.

"Yeah, so okay guys, people. I appreciate you guys coming over here. But you really didn't have to do it. So uh...I think I'll be okay so...you know what I'm saying?"

"You want us to leave now?" Adrienne asked.

"Exactly."

"No, I'm not leaving yet," Billie said.

"Why? You have better things to do then baby sit someone who doesn't need anyone to look after me."

"Yes I could be doing other things but I know you need me."

"Pfft...I don't need you. I can take care of myself, which I have been doing for the last four years I might add. Also shouldn't you guys be planning your wedding?"

"We already did the planning," Adrienne explained.

"Well shouldn't you go do whatever the hell you need to do for the wedding?"

"Already done," Adrienne said.

"Okay fine. Look here's the deal I don't want you guys here right now. I have a lot of thinks going through my mind and things that are happening. You know...I don't need more thing to think about."

"Oh come on Lynn you aren't the type to actually think," Billie said.

"Billie honey, I think she's right. We should go," Adrienne said reaching over the table and taking his hand. God was that something I dreaded seeing. But I reminded myself, Billie was hers now, and I was over him.

"No I don't want to leave her here alone," he responded.

"Look Billie you hardly know me anymore. You haven't been apart of my life for the past four years now. I've been okay with out you since then," I said.

Billie sat there, thinking to his self then finally nodded.

"Okay, fine. You're right, but don't go crying to me when you're in trouble."

"Of course not."

"Well I guess, we'll leave now then." Billie got up and so did Adie, still not letting go of his hand.

"Yeah" I said leading them over to the door. Adrienne went out the door saying bye to me.

Billie on the other hand stood there not wanting to leave.

"Look Billie I know you think I need help but I don't. I'll be fine. And I know you still feel bad about what happened ages ago. It's okay, you found somebody else who loves you. I'm fine with it. So don't go and blow this up. Don't worry about me. I'm okay and I've been okay with out you."

He stood there taking in what I was saying.

Then he asked in a low voice, "You mean you didn't love me?"

"Well duh I did but you know what I mean," I responded.

"Yeah I know. I just some times wish that never happened and then we wouldn't feel weird talking to each other," Billie said sighing.

"Well, it happens when you do something wrong." Haha, I loved torturing Billie with this.

"Lynn I'm sorry what I did. And you know it. I'll say it every single day if I have to." Aww...NOT!

"Yeah, yeah, whatever," I said rolling my eyes.

"Okay so...I'll see you later?" he asked starting to walk out a little.

"Yeah three months later," I responded.

He nodded and said, "Okay. Bye Lynn, call me and shit." Then he walked out into the car that had a waiting Adrienne and drove off.

I on the other hand ran up the stairs grabbed two bags, ran out of the house and over to Mona's

Walking up the steps of Mona's house I trip on the top step.

"Bitchin' steps," I mumble getting back up. I knock on the door and wait for somebody to answer.

Jake her brother answers and tells me to go to her room. I pick up my stuff and walk up to Mona's room.

"Mona!" I yell knocking on the door.

"What are you doing?! Masturbating!? Come on open up! You can masturbate later! But right now you have to enter-... " Before I finish she swings open the door and pulls me in.

"What the hell was that?!" She yells at me. I can't help but laugh rolling all over the floor.

"You retard," she says. "Anyway I told my mom what 's happening. She said it's cool but you aren't staying in my room. You are staying in the basement. It's completely empty and really huge. She said I could use the car today. So we are going over to your house right now to get more stuff of yours that you want."

"Okay cool," I said getting back up and throwing my bags out of Mona's room and into the hallway. She took me downstairs to put my bags there.

"You weren't lying...there's NOTHING down here," I said throwing my bags on the floor.

"Yep...so we need to leave now, because I have a feeling we don't have long before HE comes home and everything gets out of control," Mona said walking back up the stairs.

I follow her as she walks out the door and to the car. I jump in the passenger seat, and we're off to my house to get more stuff.

We arrive at my house a few minutes later. I open the front door and walk in. Still the same quite noise I had been longing for.

"Wow it is quite in here," Mona said following me up the stairs and into my room.

"Yeah I know, it's great but then at the same time sort of creepy," I said.

"Creepy indeed. Hey you know we can actually just bring your drawers and your desk. We'll come back for some more stuff later."

"Okay," I replied.

It took awhile to put my desk and my drawer in the car. When we did we went right to her house and put them in the basement.

It took us a few hours to get everything back and forth from my house to hers.

We took one last trip to my house.

I walked into the house and looked around.

"Hey you know what? For our new apartment we could take your furniture that's here. Then we don't have to go buy anything." Mona said walking over to the couch and sitting down.

"Yeah you're right. I mean it's not like my mom's going to come back now," I said sitting next to her.

"So you want to take it?" she asked.

"Yeah but...not today. I'm tired."

"Yeah me too. Okay so...we'll come back, when?"

"Well, I think it will take hmmm, maybe two months before anyone realizes that no one is here anymore," I said getting off the couch.

"So come back in two months?"

"Yeah," I said.

"Okay lets go then." Mona said getting up and walking out. I followed her and we went back to her house.

I was going to leave in a new place for the next three months, until school started. It was a really cool thing that happened.

On the other hand I was still thinking about Billie. Why did I all of a sudden start thinking about him again?

Was it possible that I was falling in love with the guy that broke my heart? All I knew is that, I didn't want him. He wasn't what I wanted anymore. But still I could get him out of my mind.

Whatever right? It will go away soon. I needed to concentrate on what was going to happen in the next three months.

And believe me when I say that what was going to happen, wasn't anything I would ever suspect...
