Elle looked at Alex as he got free Now I want u to run; run Alex and call the police leave me and run," said Elle just wanting her son to get out of there.
Alex shook his head and ran behind Elle "But mum I," Alex was cut off by Elle's scream "Run Alex now do it now," she said.
Alex ran to the back door and took one look at his mother before rushing out the door and running into the woods, Alex ran and ran as fast as could clutching the mobile phone in his hands, he turned it on and dialled his fathers number.
He was panting for breath when Billie answered the phone "Dad," he said in between breaths.
"Alex is that you?" Billie asked sound relived.
Alex sat down under a tree "Dad, mum and I were in trouble mum is still there dad you have to help us," he said quickly.
"Slow down were are you?" Billie asked trying to get his son to calm down.
Alex looked around but all he could see were tree's "I don't know wait somewhere in the woods it would have to be at least an hour out of town," he said.
"Who took you?" Billie asked trying to find out as much as he could.
Alex finally got his breath back "Dad, I mean Jamie did," he said.
"Were is you're mother?" Billie asked.
Alex sighed "She told me to run and call the police but I called you," he said feeling bad that he had left his mother behind.
"Ok find somewhere safe were on our way," said Billie.
Alex nodded to himself "Ok," he said and hung up the phone.
"We traced the call Mr. Armstrong there about and hour out of town in Carlton woods," said the detective.
Everyone piled in the car except for Izzy and Zack who stayed with Ollie.
*Back and where Elle was*
Jamie walked back threw the door "Honey I'm home," he called laughing
Elle looked up at him "Pig," she said.
Jamie shut the door "What was that baby?" he asked as he turned around to see the empty chair where Alex was when he left "Hey where is Alex?" he said walking up to Elle.
Elle glared at him "Why would I tell you," she said.
Jamie walked over to Elle and stood her up "Where the fuck is he Elle?" he said again.
Elle looked into his eyes "Fuck you," she said and smirked.
Jamie threw Elle up against the wall "You tell me were he is," said Jamie as he watched her slide down the wall.
Elle opened her eyes "Never got to hell," she screamed.
Jamie walked over and picked her up off the floor, he slapped her across the face, and threw her back down.
Elle got up and spat blood out of her mouth "Fuck you ass hole," she said.
*Meanwhile outside*
The police had came to the house and were waiting just outside it "Mr. Armstrong stay here," said the detective.
Billie ignored him and ran towards the house.
*Inside.*
He held the gun to her he was standing about 3 meters away "Tell me or you're dead," he said holding aiming the gun at her.
Elle smirked "If you kill me you'll never know," she said looking into his eyes.
Jamie cracked his neck and cocked the gun "Dam it Elle I'll do it," he yelled
Elle looked at the gun and looked at him, for some reason she wasn't afraid, she didn't know why "Then do it you pig do it if it makes you a man and you think you'll get you're son back," she said.
Right then Billie burst threw the door and there was a shot, Billie fell to the floor.
Elle watched it all happen it went by in slow motion in front of her eyes "Billie," she yelled as she watched him fall to the floor.
Jamie looked at who he had shot and ran out of the front door only to be met by the police who grabbed him.
Elle knelt down to Billie and looked at his blood soaked shirt "Billie baby wake up don't you leave me," she said.
There was blood over his chest and he was starting to convulse, two ambulance people came in and started to work on Billie and when they got him into a stable state they put him the back of an ambulance.
Elle was left shaking in Mike and Tre's arms "Were is Alex were is he?" she asked as Mike and Tre held her tightly in between them.
Right then Alex ran over to his mother hugging her with all the strength he had left "Were is dad?" he asked.
Elle was shaking "In hospital were going there now come on," she said walked over to the police car.
Alex looked up at his mother "Why?" he said confused.
Elle got in the car and wrapped the blanket around her "Jamie shot him instead of me," she said as tears streamed down her face.
Tre sat down next to her and put his arms around her "Elle don't be like that," said Tre.
Elle shook her head and looked over at Tre "No I should be the one not him," she said.
Tre looked over at Mike who was hugging Alex "Elle come one you're not thinking straight," said Tre.
At the hospital they all sat in the waiting room Elle and Alex had been examined by a doctor and they were fine Elle had two broken ribs and a few cuts that needed to be stitched up but apart from that they were both fine
Elle was sitting in the examination room when the doctor walked in and "Mrs Armstrong," the doctor said in that doctor voice the one that could make your heart stop for a moment and think of the worst thing possible that could have happened to your loved one.
Elle looked up as she sat on the side of the bed with her son cuddled beside her "Yes is my husband ok?" she asked very concerned.
The doctor paused for a second, it seemed like forever for Elle We have done all we can for him, he is in a critical stage he needs to pull threw on his own, the bullet missed the main artery in his heart, which is lucky but it did make a lot of damage but he should be ok as long as his body is willing to fight," the doctor said trying to sound comforting but failing to do so.
Elle sighed and got up off the bed, holding the side of her upper torso from the sharp pian her broken ribs had caused her "He will I know he will can I go see him?" she asked taking slow movements to the door.
The doctor nodded before attempting to help Elle, but Elle waved his hand away "Yes but just you for now," he said opening the door to let her out of the room.
Elle nodded appreciatively "Ok."
Elle walked into the room to he her husband lying on the bed with tubes and machines attached to every part of his body.
Elle walked over to the chair by his bed and sat her self down, her body cringed in pain, but the pian in her heart was far worse, seeing Billie lying there and knowing she could do nothing, ripped her heart out "Oh baby I'm so sorry," she whispered into his ear as the tears started to flow down her bruised face.
She grabbed his hands they were a little cold "Baby you got to wake up, please Billie don't you leave me, do you hear me? You can't leave me and the kids I couldn't handle that," she cried.
The door to Billie's room opened and Mike and Tre walked in, Elle knew the doctor would have told them not to but they would have been defiant.
As Tre walked in and he looked at his best friend in the bed with tubes and machines hooked up to every part of his body he closed his eyes "Oh man," he said as he walked over to the bed "Shit," he said as he pulled up a chair and sat opposite Elle.
Elle looked up tears in her eyes they fell down her cheek and on to Billie's hospital bed
Mike walked in and closed the door after him and sat down next to Tre "He'll be ok," said Mike trying to make things a little lighter in the room "he's a fighter Elle," Mike said resting his hand on Billie's bed.
Elle looked up her face looked so exhausted "I know but I can't help but think," she began to say but was cut off by Tre's voice "Don't even let that thought cross you're mind he will be fine," Tre said.
Elle, Mike and Tre sat there for awhile in silence just watching Billie, as time went by they tried to convince Elle to go home and get some rest but she wouldn't leave so Mike and Tre went home to get some sleep and they said they would be back in the morning.
*The next day*
Elle was still up with Billie when the door opened and Ollie came in holding Izzy in her arms and Alex and Zack where by her side, they walked over to there mum.
Zack walked over and jumped up onto her lap "Mummy will daddy be ok?" he asked fixing his eyes on his father as a sadness washed over his face.
She kissed her son on top of his head "yes he will," she said and she placed him back down on the floor and looked over to Ollie "Izzy my baby girl come here," she said taking the young toddler in her arms.
Izzy snuggled into her mothers arms and rested her head down on her chest "Mummy," said Izzy.
Elle looked down at her little girl her eyes just like her dads glowing full of life and happiness not aware of what was going around, not understanding why her father wasn't up and running around playing with her like usual.
Zack walked over to his mother and tapped her on the arm, Elle looked down at his bright face "Yeah baby," she said running her hand over his cheeks.
Zack basked in his mothers affection for a second until snapping back into the hospital room "Dad will be ok you know?" he said.
"I know he will be," she kissed her son on the cheek. For a 7 year old he was comforting he had eyes like Elle's big and brown, he could see the sadness in his mother's eyes and he hugged her, Alex came over and hugged her too and for a moment the four of them were at peace knowing that Billie would pull threw.
Ollie watched by the bedside "Elle," hating to interrupt their hug.
Elle looked up "Yeah," she said in a groggy voice from lack of sleep.
Ollie looked at her face she was sleepy and although she was happy to have the kids there with her, Ollie knew better "Look I'll take the kids home you need some rest," she said quietly.
Elle shook her head in protest "I'm ok thanks for the cloths," she said trying to show a smile on her face
Ollie nodded. "No problem, it's the least I can do,"
Elle looked back over to Ollie she was like a mum to Elle considering her real mother was a million miles away in another country "Did you want some time alone with him? he is you're son," she asked feeling bad that Ollie was taking care of the kids.
Ollie shook her head and grabbed Billie's hand "I've said my prays and I know he'll pull threw,"
Elle looked a little confused but grateful for Ollie taking care of the kids "Ok," she said.
Elle kissed her kids goodbye and watched them walk out the door, Izzy was walking in the middle and Alex and Zack were holding her hands on wither side, Elle smiled for a second and then returned her thoughts back to Billie.
