I Can't Think Of A Title!, chapter 2

BEEP BEEP

I groaned as I woke up, the sun was shining through the curtains. It was too bright, as you can tell I'm not a morning person!
After forcing myself out of bed I finally got dressed, applied my make-up and generally got ready for school. Our uniform sucked, it consisted of black trousers/skirt, a white blouse and a navy sweater. Okay so it doesn't sound awful but it would be better if we could wear our own clothes.
Anyway after getting over my annoyance I hopped down the stairs, taking two steps at a time. I grabbed a cereal bar as I was already running late and walked out the door, picking my bag up on the way.

I inhaled deeply taking in the fresh, morning air. The sun was shining and it looked as if it was going to be a pleasant day. I wondered how my Dad and Christina were doing in Spain, after pondering over the question for a few moments I decided I'd probably rather not know!

Before I knew it, I had reached the school gates and was greeted by an overexcited Lou. She ran out and hugged me wildly, I laughed at how over the top she could be sometimes, and then again I could be when I wanted to be. She had always been the most bubbly/loud one out of the two of us.
"Happy Birthday, Bitch!" she exclaimed.
"Yes, It's my birthday, get over it, my Dad and Christina have". I replied in a much more calm manner. I wasn't looking for sympathy; I was just a bit hurt that he didn't care. For a long time I had known she was replacing me but I never knew just how much more she meant to him.
"Aw, What's he done now? I'm telling you Ellie if he is horrible to you again, i'm gonna teach him a lesson or two!" She replied, now she had a hint of worry in her voice.
"He's just buggered off to Spain for a few weeks and the worst thing is that she's with him. He just left a note in the kitchen and didn't say when he'd be back" I was now more upset than annoyed, I was unwanted, I was going to be alone.
"He's gone to far with that slapper, I used to like him, How about you stay at mine for a while at least until he gets back?" Lou kindly suggested.
I let a small smile of appreciation creep onto my face.
"Thanks Lou, I'll think about it, but you know what I'll be more in need when they get back!" I replied.

The bell rang for registration so we went our separate ways. We were in different forms and didn't really have friends in them so we were glad that they didn't last for long. As I was walking up to my classroom a tall boy blocked my way. 'Not today' I thought to myself. It was him, his name was Mark and he was the most annoying person.
"Oi, Bitch, Give me all your money" he snarled in his irritating voice.
"Think again loser!" Was my reply, I was nervous but I wasn't going to show him that.
"Are we back chatting now? Getting a bit carried away aren't we love?" He spoke quietly.
"Yes we are and you arnt having my money, darling" I snarled back and ran past him.
Why did he have to be in school, he had always been the school bully. Okay, so he didn't hit me, but he would have done if I hadn't had ran off. 'Oh well, the rest of my life is a mess, I might as well have this as well' I thought to myself as I took my seat in the class. My seat was at the end of the desk; the chair beside of me was empty as usual.

Mr Black walked into the class; he was followed by a girl whom I didn't recognise.
" Morning all, Today we have a new pupil joining us, Kayleigh is new to the school so please be polite and helpful to her." he spoke on his entry to the room.
Along with the rest of the class I glanced over at the new student. She blushed as everybody had their eyes fixed on her. I heard some sneers from the chavs behind me. She looked punk so I figured that was why they disapproved of her. I smiled at her and she nervously smiled back. She looked shy and standing in front of a class of people must have been tough.
"Kayleigh, take a seat, you can sit next to Adelle over there." Mr Black pointed to the permanently empty seat next to me. Wow, I might not actually be a loner in form from now on. After the register had been taken, I turned to face her; I thought I'd try to start a conversation. She looked worried.
"Hey, Kayleigh, so you're new to the area?" I questioned her.
"Umm, Yeah, you can call me Kay, and yeah I umm... am new". Her voice sounded shaky. I felt sorry for her, I thought I was shy but I couldn't compare to this.
"Okay, Kay it is! Are you okay?" I was concerned about her.
"Yeah thanks, um.. I'm fine" Was her reply.
"Good, Would you like to hang around with me and my friend Louise at break?"
"Sure, thanks, who's Louise?" She asked.
"She's my best friend, if not my only friend" I laughed. "But don't call her Louise, call her Lou, if she knows that I called her Louise she'll flip!"
She giggled. " Alright then, if you're sure, Adelle?"
"Yeah I'm sure, and call me Ellie, Adelle just isn't for me!" I replied.
Our conversation was short but she seemed like a nice girl.

The bell went for first period, I had history with Lou. Kayleigh had Science so we went our separate ways.
