I Can't Think Of A Title!, chapter 5
I woke up early the next day, This was going to be awesome. I was going to have a shower but first I decided to ring Lou and Kay to see if they could come over. I called Lou first, she was allowed to come as soon as she had been to the opticians. I then called Kay, she had told her parents about the concert and about her hayfever playing up, they too had reluctantly agreed that she could stay off school. I was really excited and yet nervous at the same time. Why was I nervous about going to a Green Day concert?! I shook the feeling off and headed into the shower. I let the warm water run over my skin and wash all of my problems away. I then threw on a pair of combats and a t-shirt. I had just finished breakfast when a knock came from the door. I answered the door to see both Kay and Lou. They said that they had met each other whilst walking down the road. They had both brought a change of clothes ready for the concert. A couple of hours had passed and we were really looking forward to the concert. Lou and Kay were laughing at me because I was paranoid about losing the tickets and kept checking that I had them. I noticed that Lou kept checking on something in her bag. I thought that i'd ask why.
"Lou, what have you got hidden in there?" I asked trying to sneak a peak. Lou pulled her bag away from me and Kay starting grinning.
"Hey come on Lou, I can tell that Kay know's," I pouted.
"Don't worry, it's nothing, just girl's things," Lou replied.
"Then why are you hiding them from me?" I asked confused.
"Don't know really." Lou laughed and shrugged it off.
"Alright then, how about we go out and get some food?" Kay asked.
"Sure, How about McDonald's? It's only round the corner?" I asked. Lou and Kay nodded and we headed out of my front door. As we approached McDonald's we saw a teacher from school standing on the corner.
"Shit, quick round here." Lou literally shoved us around the opposite corner.
"OW, bitch." I shouted but Lou put her hand over my mouth.
I could see Kay trying not to laugh, I was also about to let out a giggle but our teacher started to walk in our direction. We all quickly and quietly scurried around the side of the building. After seeing her get into her car and drive off we walked back around to the front.
"That was close!" I burst out laughing along with the other two.
We went inside and we all ordered Fillet Of Fishes with fries and large strawberry milkshakes. After we had finished our meal we walked back to my house. I said that I needed to pick out my outfit for later and went to my room. I left Lou and Kay playing playstation in the living room. I picked out a pair of bootleg jeans, some battered black converse and a Green Day tee from the Nimrod era. It was now 2:00 pm and the concert started at 7:00. We decided to get changed and then head out to get the bus. We decided that we would get off at a stop quite close to the National Bowl, but not too close so that we could have a walk. By the time we had got changed and done our make-up and messed around for a while it was 4:00 pm. We walked down to the bus stop and caught the bus. We got off by a cafe so decided to go in to get some tea. I had some pasta in tomato sauce, a coke and some chocolate ice-cream. The other two had the same but with vanilla ice-cream. After we had finished eating we walked around to where the concert was. There were people queeing up so we were glad that we didn't go later. When we got in we went straight to the front. We had a hour left before to concert began but we wanted good places.
"Wow, I can't believe i'm finally going to see them live!" Kay exclaimed.
"Neither can I, Thank You So much Lou!" I squealed and hugged her.
After that we just messed about and enjoyed ourselves. This certainly was going to be a day to remember. After the support bands had finished playing the light's dimmed and the music started. Green Day came onstage and the crowd went wild, including us. Billie Joe played the opening chords to American Idiot and the concert was underway. I sung my heart out to every song. We were all silent during Wake Me Up When September ends and our eyes watered up. At the end of the concert I was really sweaty and tired, but it was still definately the best day of my life.
Lou started grinning again, the same grin that I saw on my birthday. I worry about her sometimes, this time it was different though, Kay also wore the same expression!
"Oh no, not again, what have you done now?" I asked whilst eyeing them with suspicion.
Lou pulled some tickets out of her bag. "This was what I was looking for earlier." She explained whilst handing me one.
I nearly fainted there and then, backstage passes.
I jumped up and hugged her, "How did you get these?" I asked mesmorised.
" Just look, I came across them on E-ba," She shrugged, still grinning.
"Come on, what are we waiting for?" Kay asked, practically dragging us over to the backstage door. We handed our tickets to the security guard and he pointed us in the right direction. I was so nervous my hands were shaking. Then I stopped suddenly, Lou and Kay looked concerned.
"What's up with you? You haven't even met them yet?" Lou laughed.
"But we are all sweaty, we stink!" I spoke anxiously.
"So are they, dumbass!" Kay shook her head and laughed.
I felt slightly better and continued to walk down the corridor. When we reached the door we saw a couple of teenie looking girl's already in there.
"Great," I muttered as Kay politely knocked on the door.
Mike called out. "Come in."
They actually looked quite relieved to see us.
"Erm, Hi, I'm Ellie, this is Lou and this is Kay." I spoke as confidently as possible whilst pointing out who was who.
"Hey girl's, I'm Billie, This is Mike and this is Tre'." Billie did the same as me.
"We know," I giggled.
"I suppose you do, so how'd you enjoy the show?" Billie asked.
"It was awesome, best day of my life," I replied.
Green Day smiled at us.
"Did I mention, like, just how hot you all are?" The Teenie girl whined.
"Erm, yeah, about 20 times," Tre' rolled his eyes.
Kay, Lou and I exchanged looks of annoyance.
"Can I get a kiss off you Billy Jo?" One of the girl's asked.
"Erm, I'm married, sorry, plus what would your parents think, how old are you?" Was his reply.
"I am 13, and I'm old enough to do what I want, they don't mind who I sleep with." She answered back.
Billie looked worried, "Erm, well, fair enough but no sorry I can't".
"Well fine then you fag." With that both her and her friend exited the room in a huff.
Lou, Kay and I exchanged another look and burst out laughing.
"Teenie's!!" We said together.
Billie, Mike and Tre' smiled at us. We had a great evening just telling them about ourselves. I spent the evening sitting with Billie Joe. He was really easy to talk to and I ended up telling him things only Lou and Kay know, Before we left I felt Billie slip something into my pocket. I thought nothing more of it and continued my way out of the room.
We all decided to go home, it was 12:00 pm so we called a taxi to share. We asked to be dropped in the high street which was in the middle of all our houses. We said Night and all walked our seperate ways. I sighed and put my hands in my pockets. I felt a piece of paper so pulled it out to see it was a mobile number. It was Billie Joe's. I was shocked but pleased. This was great, he actually want's to see me again. I knew he didn't like me because he was married to Adrienne, but perhaps he wanted to be my friend. I have never had an adult friend who cares about me. Wow, was my life going to change for the better?
