I came before Adrienne..., chapter 10
"...Promise me one thing, please?" I finished.
"What would that be?" he asked.
"No more using knives on yourself," I told him.
"I think I can handle that." He said.
"You promise me?"
"Yeah. I promise."
"There will always be a place for you in my heart. When you cut your wrist, you cut my heart." I left him with that to ponder on.
I took my stuff and took our boat back home. By boat it only took like two minutes. Way faster than walking. I pulled into the dock, and Kyle was there to help. He tied up the boat, and helped me carry my stuff back to my room.
I set my stuff on my floor and sat on my bed. Kyle came in after me and shut the door.
"Can we talk?" Kyle asked me.
"Of course," I gave him a half smile.
"How did everything go at Ray's?" Kyle said.
"Not bad. He almost killed himself over what happened, but we talked and worked things out," I explained to him.
"He almost killed himself over you two breaking up or what?"
"No, he did it over what he did to me. He did it because he really loves me, and he hurt me."
"Ohhh, I see. Wanna tell me what happened last night?' Kyle wondered.
After I explained everything is was quiet for a few minutes, and then Kyle started talking again.
"I am really sorry about what happened, and it shouldn't have happened. But I know for a fact that Ray didn't mean to do what he did last night. He told me himself that you were his world, and that he would never do anything to hurt. And i could tell that he was sincere about it. People make mistakes, and Ray made one last night. Don't hold grudges for it, and don't bring it up to him. It's in the past and leave it in the past. I know you are probaly sick of hearing me talk, but too bad. Oh, and one more thing, I'm sorry that I am a pretty protective over you, but you were my first sister," Kyle said.
"Kyle, Kerry and I are twins." I laughed.
"I know, but you were born 4 minutes and 27 seconds earlier," Kyle explained.
"Wow, you are definately a dork," I told him jokinly.
"Funny. But anyways, you are my first sister, and thats never gonna change," Kyle finished. He gave me a hug and went to his room and cranked some music.
Meanwhile, while Kyle was rockin' out, and I was thinking and playing guitar, upstairs in the kitchen Mom and Kerry were talking.
"How was the dance last night? Leah get drunk?" My mom asked Kerry.
"Mom! Leah only drank once. And all it was, was a teeny bit of rum. Get over it." Kerry laughed.
"Ha, nah, I'll always bug her about it. Seriously though, how did it go last night?" she asked again.
"Uh...Not Good. Well, one of Leah's old friends was there; Willard. And him and Leah had a little thing for each other before her and Ray got together. And they were slow dancing together, without Ray's permission, and when Ray saw them he got the wrong idea. And it all went downhill from there," Kerry explained.
"Is Leah doing okay?"
"Yeah, she's fine, she talked to me and Kyle a bit. And this morning she went over to Ray's and got it all sorted out with him. I think it's all cool now."
"That's good. But I have some stuff to tell you guys. So, will you please go downstairs and tell Leah and Kyle to come up here?"
"Yeah." Kerry went downstairs and got them. They all came up and sat at the kitchen table.
"Well..." Mom began.
"What would that be?" he asked.
"No more using knives on yourself," I told him.
