Going back to where I belong, chapter 2

Megan started running down the hallway of her school; Pinole Valley High, the most dreaded school ever, well at least to Megan. She couldn't stand the cheerleaders and the snotty rich girls who never have to feel pain in their life because they could always replace whatever they wanted by something else... like shoes or makeup. But no one could ever replace Billie, because he was a part of her... they grew up together... they learned most life lessons from each other, but that's when they were friends. High School started to tear them apart. He hung out with different people than Megan did, and Megan hung out with different people than Billie did.

Tre saw Megan running down the hallway and grabbed her arm, making her stop abruptly. "What do you want?!" Megan sneered angrily. Tre was the last person she wanted to see right now, after all it was his fault Hanna and Billie weren't as good of friends anymore. It was all because of him... because he went too far...

* Flashback *

Billie and Tre were in the basement getting ready for Gilman's band competition; they started practicing Dry Ice again for the 50th time that day. "Something doesn't sound right..." Billie said in full concentration.
"What is it?" Tre asked curiously, as he twirled both drumsticks in one hand.
"We need a bass player; the song doesn't sound right without it." Billie replied and started fooling around on his guitar, as he always did when he was concentrating very hard.
"The concert is tonight, where do you think we'll find a bass player in two hours?" Tre replied sternly. Billie sighed and started to tap his foot to the beat of one of their songs. He jumped up and smiled "Dude, doesn't your sister play the bass?" Billie asked excitedly and started jumping around the room.

Tre shook his head fiercely, "Dude no way, I'm not going to perform with my sister... what if she gets like one note wrong... Then we're SCREWED" Tre whispered harshly. Billie shook his head and smiled then ran up stairs and in front of Megan's door. He knocked lightly and heard Megan mumble a small 'Come in'.
Billie jumped on Megan's bed and lay down next to her. "I have a small favor to ask..." Billie asked nervously, hoping she would say yes.
"What is it?" Megan asked curiously. Billie got up and walked to the corner of her room, on a stand there lay her bass, it was glossy and shiny looking, it almost looked like she never played it before, it was black with flames on the front and back.

"Could you substitute for us...? We need a bass player and we don't have one... so we were hoping you could play one of our songs... Dry Ice, that's the only song and that's it..." Billie replied and crossed his fingers behind his back. Megan smiled and nodded her head sincerely. Billie smiled and opened his arms open, inviting Megan in for a hug; Megan gladly accepted and found herself pressed up against Billie's chest in a warm sweet hug. She didn't want the hug to end but she knew she had to let go, and when she did she felt a chill run against her spine.

Why did she feel so cold without Billie? It was like Billie was a part of her that kept her from freezing to death. Billie handed Megan a sheet of music for the song. "Practice this for a little while and get ready because were starting tonight... I tell you, we're going to rock this building!" Billie said happily and kissed Megan on the lips and skipped out of the room. Megan sighed and touched her lips "If only he meant it..."

Downstairs Tre was on his drummers stool when Billie got back. He was twirling the drumsticks in one hand and hoping on one foot. Billie smiled and nodded his head "She's cool with it, she's going to practice it and then she'll be ready, believe me I've heard her play... she's pretty skilled!" Billie said happily.
"Dude, I'm going to get a coke... want one?" Billie asked Tre happily. Tre nodded without making a sound and Billie rushed upstairs.

Billie Or Megan didn't know... but he saw them talking just a few minutes ago, he knew the kiss didn't mean anything to Billie but he was afraid Megan thought it meant something, and he didn't want he heart to be broken beyond repair.. so he had to do something about it... he planned to tonight, he was going to go through with it even if it killed Megan, which he knew it would.

"Okay... these are a bunch of new guys, two guys and one girl they call themselves Sweet Children and they have a song to play so listen up and ROCK ON!" The M.C said happily as they stepped up on the stage. Billie started strumming the first notes and Megan followed. Everyone in the mosh pit were screaming and whooting, it seemed liked they liked it. Megan smiled and kept on playing.

After the song was done the gang sat down at the bar. Billie was beaming at the success they had, nobody knew who one yet, but they were keeping their fingers crossed. Billie and Hanna were talking and laughing when Tre called someone over. It was a girl exactly like Megan except she had blonde hair. "Billie, I wanted you to meet someone... This is Cassie... I hope you guys get to know each other well." Billie smiled at Cassie.
"Do... Do you umm... want to dance?" Billie asked nervously Cassie smiled and nodded her head; Billie grabbed her hand and led her to the dance floor. Megan gawked at the sight of Billie and that slut dancing together.

She turned her head and started to stare at Tre "How could you... how could you do this to me?" Megan cried.
"This was for your own good... I didn't want to see you get hurt..." Tre replied.
"What do you think I'm feeling like now? You took him away from me...how could you?" Megan asked sadly as a few tears started to spill down her cheeks.
"You'll get over him in a few weeks... don't worry..." Tre replied.
"No... No I won't Tre" Megan replied and ran off in the darkness of the night.
