Time lies., chapter 3
I wandered into the kitchen. I was dying for a coffee. I put the jug on and grabbed waffles from the cupboard.
"WAKE UP LILA!" I screamed.
"I am awake," she walked into the kitchen. Paul followed her close behind.
"Heard ya last night. God you can get loud," I teased. Lila smiled sarcastically.
"So you and Benji have done it yet? Noticed you came home late, so... "
"No! I got a bite to eat and then we walked home, that's all," I said. She smiled.
"Tell the truth!"
"I am!" I yelled at her. She got the picture and shut up.
"What's for breakfast?" Paul asked.
"You want breakie get it yourself. I cook, clean, and do everything for her. Get her to make it for once," I snapped.
"Oh you're in a shitty mood," Lila said.
"You put me in it!" I yelled.
"Sorry," she pleaded.
I walked out of the kitchen with my coffee and sat on the lounge and flicked on the T.V. I watched South Park for a bit but got bored with it so I put it on channel v and watched Panic! At the Discos 'We write sins not tragedies'. Afterwards I went to my room and grabbed Benji's jacket and dragged myself to the lounge again.
"That's Benji's jacket. He's in here isn't he?" Paul looked in my room.
"No he isn't! He gave me his jacket last night when we were walking home,"
"Oh ok," he walked back to the kitchen. I picked up my phone and dialed Benji's number.
"Hello?" his voice said on the other end.
"Hey Benji boy, what's up?"
"Packing,"
"Oh... really? Want me to leave you to it?"
"No I'm fine. I'm almost finished. Paul didn't even wake up this morning. So he hasn't started,"
"That's cause he is in my kitchen having a waffle fight with Lila,"
"Ok then... Tell him he has to come to the hotel to start packin cause we're leaving tomorrow afternoon,"
"Yeah I will. I'll let you keep packing, Seeya,"
"Wait, I wanna take ya out tonight. So wanna come out tonight?"
"Sure, Seeya then." I clicked the phone off.
"Paul you have to get back to the hotel to start packin cause you are leaving tomorrow afternoon,"
"Ok," he said in babyish voice.
"Seeya tomorrow ok Lila?" he asked.
"Sure," he hugged her.
"Kiss her! You could do it last night so do it now!" I told Paul. He leant in and kissed her.
"Seeya tomorrow Paul," I said as he left.
"He is so sweet," Lila gushed. I smiled, I was happy for her. She had always had problems with guys. So did I, but I didn't care.
I sat in the back seat to the airport. Benji sat next to me and Paul sat next to Lila.
"Benji, give me your drink," Joel demanded.
"What happened to yours?"
"Drank it. I'm diying here," Benji handed over his drink and watched Joel skull it down.
"Hey Benji, When you comin back to Australia?" I asked.
"Whenever you need me to," he smiled and grabbed my hand. I felt so secure sitting next to him. I didn't even remember he was in a band and he an amazing life. But he sat with me. His black eyeliner showing off his gorgeous brown eyes. But I had worries. I had a secret and only my family and Lila knew. It would break him if he knew.
"Kristie, I'll ring ya when I get there ok?" Benji said into my neck as I hugged him.
"Yeah, and tell me if anything goes wrong," I said back.
"Yes I will,"
"Seeya," I said as he walked off to join his brother and his band mates.
"BYE KRISTIE!" Joel yelled out. Paul and Lila were still saying their goodbyes. I looked and Benji as he waved goodbye. I slowly waved and walked back to phone to ring for a taxi. I dialed the number and asked for a taxi. My mind on how to tell Benji about my family secret. It was hurting me to think he might never talk to me again. His life was in danger though if he didn't know.
"Kris girl are you ok?" Lila asked as I hung up the phone.
"I've gotta tell Benji about the secret," I whined. Lila closed her eyes and rocked forward. She knew how hard it was gunna be for him to find out.
I stood over the body. Another night, another victim. I wiped the blood from my lips. A clean kill. My hunger grew for more, but my conscience was saying no. In the morning Lila would smack me over the head and lock me up for a week. I didn't want it to be a month. I felt my wings unfold and I kicked off the ground. The hard winter air blew at my face but I didn't bother with it. My heart was cold. I chose this life. To have an extra one. I stopped on my windowsill folded my wings back into my shoulder blades. Lila was waiting for me.
"Have a good flight?" I shuddered and took a step back. How did she know I was awake?
"Maybe,"
"Well it'll be your last. You didn't take your antidote, did you?" her eyes glinted.
"No, but seriously you have no idea how hard it is to watch my fellows go and have their feeds every night,"
"That's why I decided to change your room. You'll be moving to the east side of the house. Next to the kitchen. At least I can lock the window to stop you from escaping. Now you know what to do, take the pill," she shoved the pill in my face. It stopped transformation of vampires. I picked it up and looked at it. I had to fight the temptation of flying off again. I shoved the pill in my mouth and let it slip down my throat.
"Happy now?" my voice gurgled. My back was slitting as my wings disappeared and my fangs turned to normal. My eyes, which stung, turned to their normal ocean blue color and my nails shortened.
"You know the deal. In here for a week," Lila walked to the window and slammed it shut and stuck a piece of wood in front of it to stop me from going out again.
"I hate you," I whimpered as the pill was taking over.
"You will thank me in the morning," Lila walked out of the room and left me to my painful past, present and future.
I woke up in the ripped clothing that I wore the night before. My eyeliner was dripped down my face. I walked out into the kitchen and saw Lila with a mug in her hand.
"Did I drink to much last night?" I asked not really remembering happened.
"You feel so bad cause you did it again. I'm gunna have to swap your room around," Lila sighed. I had killed some innocent person. I slammed my face into the counter.
"All I can say is take your antidote next time," Lila got up and left the room.
"WAKE UP LILA!" I screamed.
"I am awake," she walked into the kitchen. Paul followed her close behind.
