Time lies., chapter 4
I hadn't heard from Benji in a week. I was panicking but he was able to look after his self. I stared at the T.V not really knowing what I was looking at. The phone rang.
"Hello?" I answered the phone.
"Hey Kristie! Come to dinner with me and the boys tonight?" Benji yelled over the phone.
"Benji, can you come to my house? I just want a nice night at home," I said back. There was silence.
"Yeah, ok. I'll meet you at your house at nine. Anything wrong?" he asked. I sighed deeply.
"Um...no. Just want to have I quite night in," I answered. My mind was racing. What was I going to tell him? How was I going to tell him I was a vampire?
"Well I'll see you then," he hung up the phone and I slouched into the lounge. My mouth was dry and Benji wasn't even here. I stood up and walked to my bathroom to have a shower.
"Kristie, Benji's here!" Lila yelled through my door crack. I woke up. Still wrapped in a towel.
"I'll be right out!" I yelled back. I quickly dressed and walked into the lounge room.
"Hey Kristie," Benji greeted me with a smile and hug.
"Hey, what's up?" I asked. I started to feel nervous.
"The usual. You?"
"Mm...more then you think!" I giggled nervously. Lila left the room.
"So...can I talk to you?" I asked.
"Yeah sure what's up?"
"Um...well, I'm a... " Benji cut me off.
"Hey lets have pizza! My treat," I sighed.
"Benji, Benji! Please listen. This is tearing me up inside," he looked at me.
"If it's bad, I don't want to hear it. Well I do but can we eat first?" he had a pleading look in his eyes. I didn't convince him that this was important.
"Oh...ok. I'm starved anyway," Benji smiled and picked up the phone. I looked at the light out side. My stomach churned. The light wasn't a normal light.
"I need to go see Lila," I said running into the kitchen.
I saw Lila cooking something on the other side of the kitchen.
"I need the antidote," I whispered. I felt my ripped wings coming out my back and my fangs getting sharper and longer. Lila looked shocked.
"But it was only a week ago since you last morphed. That means..."
"I don't give a shit what it means. I need the antidote!" I screamed. Lila stared for a second and then ran to the cupboard. My fangs were fully out and my wings had just morphed. My nails were getting longer. Lila opened my mouth and dropped the pill into it. I fell to my knees. Gasping as my wings folded back into my body and my fangs shortened.
"Thank you," I gasped. Lila picked me up.
"You have to tell him," she whispered. I nodded. Suddenly Benji opened the door.
"Hey Kristie, are you all right?" he asked with a strange look on his face.
"Ladies time Benji. I'll fix it right up," Lila said. I looked up saw that Benji had a frightened look on his face. His brown eyes stood out more for some reason and his skin was lighter.
"Sit in the lounge room and she'll be right down," Lila walked me to the top bathroom and locked us in.
"Did you see that Benji looked different?" I asked just getting my breath back. Lila nodded.
"I'm sure it was because he was scared, I bet that the reason," Lila said in a tone of comfort. I walked out the door and down to Benji.
"So what did you order?" I said curling up on the lounge next to Benji.
"Uh cheese for you, and that's about it!" he laughed.
"Wanna watch a movie?" he asked before I could say anything back.
"Sure, what do you want to watch?"
"Do you have ' Another state of mind'?"
"Never heard of it. How about... Carl Barron? He is so funny,"
"Um ok," I looked at him and smiled. But I had to tell him. The thought hit me that if he found out he'd never speak to me to me again.
"Well I'll get the movies, you sit here," I got up walked into my room. I walked to the DVD cabinet and grabbed the two DVD's out of it. I stood for I a while just looking at them.
"Did you get lost Kristie?" Benji asked at my door.
"No, just seeing if they were the right ones," I turned around and faced him. His brown eyes were bright but he was paler and his back looked broader, like he was hunching to make it look bigger.
"So, lets watch it!" he said excitedly.
"My mate asked me one day, cause I was eating curry, if it was hot hot, or if it was hot hot. I replied, you said the same word four times dickhead! Do you want me to start talking like a baby again, hot hot burny hot hot or hot hot curry hot! God," I laughed into the blanket. Benji was holding his sides and nearly crying with laughter.
"Dude, how can you watch this and still laugh? I mean its funny but not after fifty time!" said Lila.
"Cause you have a different sense of humor to me," I replied.
"Well can you keep it down, I'm trying to sleep," Lila snapped and walked up to her bedroom. I looked at Benji. He looked routed.
"Come on, I'm turning this off," I walked to the T.V and turned it off.
"He's funny. Where does he come from?" Benji asked still giggling.
"Here, Australia," I answered. I looked at him as he got up.
"I had fun tonight," he whispered grabbing my arm. I felt so secure. He leant in and I was lost in his kiss. I let him go, I had no idea what was going to happen but I let it go.
I woke up with Lila's excited scream. Benji was still sleeping. He looked so peaceful as light shredded across his face.
"Your mum and Ben are coming up!" she screamed excitedly in my ear when she walked in.
"Shuddup! Benji's still asleep!" I whispered. Benji rolled over and grabbed me.
"Ooohh I see what's happened, you aren't a virgin any more, are?" she teased.
"I never was one dick, now get out!" I whispered. She smiled and walked out.
"I am awake," Benji said. The blanket muffled his voice.
"Ok. I didn't know that," I laughed back stroking his head.
"Were you still a virgin?" he asked.
"No. She just says that cause I hadn't been laid in 3 years. I made an oath after my last relationship that I would wait till marriage, but your better then being married," I said. He laughed and nuzzled into me.
"I'm going to my hang out today. Wanna come?" I asked.
"Sure anything with you is worth while doing," he said yawing. I hoped that would be the case.
"Hello?" I answered the phone.
