A Green Day Story That I Can't Think Of A Name For., chapter 1
Hi, I'm Kirsty. I'm 13 and I have a sister called Cara who is 15. My birthday is on 3rd August. I have greyish blue eyes and long, dark brown hair. I'm about 5'4 in height and I'm from England. I live at an orphanage in Oakland, California and have done for a couple of months.
You're probably wondering how I got here from England so I'll tell you. Both my parents died in a car crash 1 month after my birthday. My sister and me went to Australia to live with our Uncle Steve, Aunty Nicky and their kids, Shelby and Elliot. But they all died in a car crash while we were on the plane so we went to an orphanage in Melbourne, Australia. We were adopted by Andrew and Sarah Jackson. We moved to Oakland with them but they both got hit by a car and didn't survive.
My sister got adopted a week ago and I have no idea who by. So here I am, alone in an orphanage.
One day, I was sitting in my room listening to Green Day when there was a knock on the door. "Come in!" I yelled. I turned off my i-pod.
"Hey Chrissie." Chrissie was the owner of the orphanage.
"I need you to come downstairs. Some people wanted to adopt a teenage daughter and I thought you would be perfect." Chrissie said.
"Okay." I replied.
I walked into the lounge and there, sitting on the couch, was none other than Billie Joe Armstrong and his wife, Adrienne. I felt as though I could faint on the spot so I sat down on a chair.
"So, are you gonna tell us about yourself or are you just gonna sit there gaping?" Billie said. Adrienne giggled.
"Okay. I'm 13, I have a sister called Cara, and she got adopted about a month ago. I know karate and horse riding." I said. I had said this tonnes of times before and was getting bored of saying it.
"What bands do you like?" Adrienne asked.
"It would be easier if you said a band name and I told you whether I like them or not." I answered.
"Okay. Do you like... Green Day?" Billie asked.
"Yes! My favourite band!" I replied.
"Red Hot Chilli Peppers?" Adrienne questioned.
"Awesome band. Anthony Kiedis is hot!" I answered.
"MCR?" Billie asked.
"Great band!" I stated.
"Sex Pistols?"
"They're cool,"
"Ramones?"
"Never heard them."
"You've never heard of The Ramones?"
"I never said I hadn't heard of them. I said I'd never heard them."
"Oh okay then. The Clash?"
"From what I've heard them play, they're good."
"What have you heard?"
"London Calling." I stated.
"I think she's gonna be perfect." Adrienne said.
"Yeah, me too. We'll take her." Billie said. So as they signed the adoption papers, I went up to my room to gather all my stuff. It only took about 20 minutes because half of my stuff was already in my bags. So when I went down, they were quite surprised that I had been so quick.
"That was quick! Do you not have much stuff?" Billie asked.
"I do. It's just that I hadn't unpacked all of my stuff over the two months that I have been here." I replied. They finished signing the papers in about 2 minutes. We went out to the black BMW and dumped my stuff in the boot then drove to my new home.
