The New Daughter of the Family. (Sequel to An Angel's Voice.), chapter 10

Sara woke up to the sound of her dad and Gerard fighting. "What's going on?" She asked. Her dad threw the magazine at her. She read it and groaned. "Oh shit."
"That's what I said," Gerard said, trying to shield Billie with a pillow.
"I trusted you, dammit!" Billie shouted.
"Dad, dad, calm down," Sara said, jumping out of bed and standing between her dad and Gerard.
"Out-of-my-way," he said warningly.
"No. Not until we talk about this," Billie charged at her and then picked her up and threw her on the bed, laughing. Sara looked at him confusedly. "What the hell is wrong with you?" Billie laughed harder, falling onto her bed.
"That magazine-" He wiped his eyes. "That damn magazine has bee talking trash about me for like 10 years. I know nothing in there is true!" He clutched his stomach. "Oh my fucking god! You should have seen the look on your faces! Priceless!" Sara glowered at him and got up and walked out of the room.
"What the fuck is wrong with him?" she asked herself, walking into the kitchen. Tre was there with the magazine.
"What the hell is this?" he stormed, hiding a smile.
"Shut the fuck up, Tre," Sara snapped. "Dad tried it," she sat on the stool and grabbed a mug of coffee.
"Hey, that's mine," Mike said, entering the kitchen.
"Too fucking bad," Mike backed off.
"Wrong side of the bed?"
Sara sighed. "Sorry, Mike. I'm soo.... augh," She took a big swig. "Dad wakes me up a day before I start my new school and throws some magazine at me that's not even real and he's yelling at me and Gerard and- It's one big mess!"
"Oh, you mean the fake magazine?"
"Yeah, that one. He makes a HUGE deal out of it and then rolls on the floor laughing and he's such a dipshit!"
"Good morning, everyone!" Billie shouted happily as he entered the kitchen.
"Shut up," Sara barked. "You are just- just- SO annoying sometimes, dad!"
"What did I do?" He asked innocently.
"You- I- WHAT!?" She screamed and then attempted to run upstairs, but Billie caught her by the waist and held her. "Don't think love is going to excuse what you did, dad. Let me go!"
Billie laughed. "Why? It was just a harmless joke."
"A joke that almost gave Gerard a heart attack!"
"I love you,baby-"
"SHUT UP DAD!" She pushed and shoved but Billie wouldn't let her go. "You wake me up on my final days of summer. I'm about to walk right into hell tomorrow morning and you think that-"
"School here isn't that bad." Billie said, carrying her to the couch and setting her on his lap.
"It is when your dad is Billie Joe Armstrong" she mumbled.
"Oh, I see what the problem is."
"No, you don't."
"Yes, I do. You think you won't make any real friends. Everyone will be your friend because of me."
"Ok, I guess you so see what the problem is," he laughed.
"Well, you just got here at the beginning of summer. Who's gonna know?" Sara fiddled with her fingers. And then she sighed. "Well, now thanks to my big fat mouth the school's preppy bitch knows who I am. And she knows everybody."
"Well, you already have Kris, Amanda, and Lunden."
"Dad, they're from Minnesota, remember? They already went back home."
"When?" She checked the clock.
"An hour ago. But we were busy getting yelled at. So now I'm pretty much screwed."
"No you're not, everything will be fine."

-The next morning-
Sara stepped quietly into her parent's room. Adrienne had already gotten up and drove the boy's to school, leaving Sara to walk to high school. Billie was sleeping soundly.
"Dad?" Sara shook him softly. "Dad? I'm going to school now. My first day. Dad? You going to get up?" He didn't move. She sighed. "Ok, I'll see you later." She kissed his forehead and turned to leave. Billie sprung up and grabbed her by the backpack. He threw her and himself under the covers.
"There," He said, wrapping himslef around her and closing his eyes. "You can hide out here until school ends. And then I'll send you out the window, you walk in the front door and pretend you went to school."
Sara laughed. "You're a genius, dad. I like that plan," She brushed the hair out of his eyes.
Tre walked in and threw the covers off. Billie winced at the brightness. "There you are. Come on, I'm taking you to school." He stood there in a tshirt and his Spongebob pajama bottoms. And his "disguise" hat and sunglasses.
"But I don't wanna go to school," Billie complained. Tre rolled his eyes.
"Come on, you're going to be late."
"I'll be there in a sec," Tre sighed and ran downstairs.
"He's pissed at you," Billie said, throwing the covers over them again.
"Why me?"
"Because you're leaving him. He's going to have nothing to fill his day when you're gone."
"I was wondering why he wasn't being his usual Tre-like self this morning," She looked at Billie's clock. "Ok, now I really gotta go, dad," she jumped out of bed.
"Wait," he pulled her back and gave her a quick kiss. "For good luck," She smiled and kissed him again.
"Love you," She ran out the bedroom door.
"Love you, too!" He shouted back. "Have fun in hell!" She rolled her eyes and met Tre outside by the car. He had his hands on his hips and kept checking his watch. She stood there and smiled at him.
"Well, are you going to stand there and look stupid, or are you going to get in?" Sara ran up to him and jumped on him, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"I'm gonna miss you, Tre," She kissed him. Tre smiled.
"I'm gonna miss you, too, baby," He hugged her tight and set her in the car.

"Uh, do they usually do that?" Tre asked, watching a huge crowd of teenagers flood towards thier car.
"Oh, shit," Sara said, locking the doors. She watched and waited. They suddenly ran towards them, jumping on the car and pressing their faces against the window.
"It's Tre Cool!" Someone shouted.
"No, it's not!" Tre shouted, trying to hide himself. They started rocking the car, causing Tre to scream. "They're everywhere!" Sara looked up.
"Not eveywhere," Tre looked up at the sun roof. He looked back at Sara.
"Oh, no. You are NOT going through the sunroof." Sara ignored him and opened it. She threw her back pack out first and then looked at Tre.
"Wish me luck."
"No, you can't go through there. Let's just go back home and-" She started climbing through the sun roof. Tre pulled her back down and kissed her passionatley. They broke apart, ignoring the hoots and hollers and bad looks from the teens outside. "Be careful," He said quietly. He hoisted her up through the sun roof and closed it when she jumped to the ground. He honked the horn, causing the teens to jump back. He quickly, but carefully, drove away from the curb and down the street.

Sara looked at her new high school. She sighed and entered. It was going to be a bad day.
